Black screen, no audio, & zero bit recordings
Posted by: mattman1968 - 2020-09-14, 01:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I have a strange problem. I am using NPVR v4.2.4 on W10. I have 4 tuner HD Homerun & a Pinnacle PCTV card. The HDHR is set as highest priority & all was working perfectly. Unfortunately, this past weekend I had to change my router and things have been wonky ever since. Now I cannot watch live TV or record. Live TV results in a black screen with no sound. Recordings work in the sense that a file is created but it is a 0 bit file and obviously won't play back. If I set reverse priority for Live TV then it works via the PCTV tuner card. Although I haven't tried recording via the PCTV card I am sure it will work since Live TV works with it.

The HDHR is recognized by NPVR and I have even re-scanned channels. I have verified settings match those as the PCTV card. HDHR works with it's software and with Plex & Jellyfin. I can't understand why the HDHR is not working with NPVR. I have included logs collected right after I watched via PCTV card with reverse priority checked, and again after I unchecked reverse priority.

Thanks!

  x-newa new install
Posted by: wheemer - 2020-09-14, 03:45 AM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (14)

Hello;

I'm trying out this plugin in a quest to have CC from an m3u tuner appear in kodi. When I launch x-newa I get a connection error. I have also installed the other new client and it seems to be working fine just no CC.

Any help is appreciated. I could not find any install info for x-newa at all. Many links are dead.

  Not play FHD channels
Posted by: BigBob - 2020-09-13, 11:12 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (14)

Odd problem: On neither the webplayer or the client the FHD channels from my provider will not play.  It shows it is receiving  data and then when it is complete the screen is black.  No video and no audio.  The channels play fine on my other four players.  Any ideas? Huh

Why does ffmpeg use 100% CPU
Posted by: JohnFL - 2020-09-13, 08:15 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (6)

Hello!

New to NextPVR

I have trouble with my ffmpeg using 100% CPU

Windows 10 - Newest NextPVR - HDHomeRun Prime - Intel I5 - 8G

The system appears to record fine in general, but by the end of a recording the CPU is always pegged 100% usage by ffmpeg

Any ideas on what may be wrong with my config?

I'm recording 2 games right now, watching one in the browser as it happens.  Well, 5 minutes left in the game and now NextPVRserver is unresponsive.  It's been happening all through the game where it just stops.  I've been lucky to exit out and resume but now there's no response from the browser viewer.  Afraid to restart anything because I fear having both my recordings lost.

Attached pic of my task mgr showing high cpu

Thanks so much!

  Editing ATSC Tuning channel lists
Posted by: Dave48167 - 2020-09-13, 04:23 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (3)

With V4 I was able to edit the ATSC scan lists in the Tuning/ATSC folder so that scanning the OTA channels in my area went much faster and picked up only the channels I wanted.

Editing these lists in V5 seems to make no difference since the lists I can pick from when performing a scan seem to come from a different source.

In V5, is there no way to use my own list when scanning for OTA channels?

Another but related question - I've not found a way to scan for a single channel to be added to my existing channel list.  Can this be done with V5?

Thanks in advance for any help provided here.

  Schedule series recording
Posted by: tjuhl - 2020-09-12, 03:03 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (27)

I have just installed NextPVR 5.08 with DVBC tuners and it works quite nice.

I do have a problem recording series. It just picks the one I select and ignores the rest. I assume it has to do with the name of the show which indicates (number:out of total) ie "Modern Family (17:24)" so the name is unique for each. Is there a way to get the EPG or NextPVR to ignore or use this?

Below is an image showing the guide after scheduling the series recording and log file below too.

Thanks!!

NextPVR Stops mid recording and machine is unresponsive
Posted by: Ronstang - 2020-09-12, 06:32 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (39)

This only happens when NextPVR is recording a program so why it may not be NextPVR directly it has something to do with the problem.  This is a Windows 8.1 machine that I administer over RDP and lately I find the machine has been disconnected from RDP and there is no way to login so I have to access it directly but the lock screen is unresponsive and the only option is to restart the machine.

This is aggravating because this is a machine I only access usually with RDP so I may not notice for half a day that the machine is locked up and I loose many recordings.  All the lights are on and the machine is running.....it just isn't actually doing anything.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Update for the NextPVR PVR Client for Libreelec (Matrix)?
Posted by: jksmurf - 2020-09-12, 05:25 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - No Replies

Hi sub

Wondering of there was an update for the Libreelec PVR Client, I have been going through some checks with Martin for Kodi 19 on the Rpi4

https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid546227

and he uses your client. The only one available is 6.0.5.1, specially for Libreelec; Martin reckons it might be a wee bit old?
There is nothing available in the Kodi Repo for PVR Clients or Video Addons but in the Libreelec one I found 6.0.5.1.
I am not sure how old/current this is?

Thanks!

Starting NTray.exe causes .Net Framework error
Posted by: Dave48167 - 2020-09-12, 03:22 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

Hi All -

I'm new to V-5 but have it partially running on a Windows 10 machine but am having problems.  (I completely removed V-4, which ran just fine, before installing V-5.)

These problems may or may not be related to the following issue but I want to fix the following problem before fine tuning the V-5 installation.

Whenever Ntray.exe starts a .Net Framework error occurs.

Complete error details are posted at end of message.

When the error occurs I can hit continue and run NextPVR but have no idea if the error is what is causing the issues I'm having with NPVR or not.

Anyone else have this issue or have any idea how to I might fix the .Net Fromework problem?

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

Dave

  Microsoft update
Posted by: Brucek2839 - 2020-09-12, 12:39 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hello everyone,
Has anyone encountered their NextPVR ver 4 system not working after a Microsoft update?  I think that is what happened to me today.  My clients could not see the server on the network.  I checked everything I could think of but I finally decided to do a restore to an earlier time restore on my server.  Now I am having a hard time getting th e server reset.  grrrrrrrrrr

Thank you,

Bruce
