  No DVD decoder?
Posted by: andrew_macaluso - 2006-10-11, 04:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Well, I try to play DVD's and the DVD seems to play but there's no audio. Also, in config, I seem to have no choices for DVD video decoder despite having MPEG2 decoders listed elsewhere and no matter what audio decoder I choose nothing works! What can I try in this case to get it working?

  Compressing
Posted by: litlbob - 2006-10-11, 03:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hellol all, I am recent switcher from Beyond TV. I have been playing with GBPVR and have been really loving the quality of the recording. On the other hand, I am having little success with much else besides basic functions. In Beyond TV, there is a post recording option to compress into DIVX. I have the divx converter and that works, but I was wondering if there was a setting (or plugin) to do much the same thing. I saw something about ffdshow, and downloaded and installed it, but I am stuck there. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks all!

Comskip Detection off by Half (only in GBPVR)
Posted by: tweeknockr - 2006-10-11, 03:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (35)

I am seeing some very odd behavior by comskip... when I play back a file that has been comskip'ed in GBPVR, all of the commercials appear in the first half, while the second half show's clean. It is almost like gbpvr thinks there's twice as many frames as there actually is, so it squeezes all the commercials into the first half. I checked the framerate in the comskip log, and it's 29.97 as it should be for the ATSC source.

When I look at the debug window for comskip, everything is right on. I've attached a picture to help demonstrate the problem.

What does the padding in the Config do?
Posted by: fldavem - 2006-10-11, 03:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (20)

I have some already scheduled recordings, some through the EWA and some through the GBPVR interface. The GBPVR config is set for 90 minute padding, but the recording I just made had no padding. This is likely one I scheduled through the web.

Can someone tell me

  1. Does the padding in the GBPVR Config have any control on web scheduled recording?
  2. Does changing the GBPVR Config padding have any effect on the recordings already scheduled through the GBPVR interface? What about the next time you change it, what scheduled recordings would change?
  3. Does it have any effect on recordings not yet scheduled?
  4. Is there a way to change the default padding of 0 that seems to be on the EWA?
  5. If there is, again, will that effect recordings already scheduled or only future ones?

If it is possible to control future scheduled recordings, what I'd like to do is delete my sporting events, change the padding to add, say 60 minutes post padding, schedule the sporting events, and then change the padding back to 0 for normal tv shows.

Trying to figure out why my guide is sorted alphabetically. I searched but couldn't find any answers. Hopefully someone can help me solve this without a full re-install...

  EPG schedule off
Posted by: marm - 2006-10-11, 01:45 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Here is what my EPG looks like. The shows seemed like they are shifted down and are mixed up. Boston Legal is only showing 1/2 hour and then Nightline is following it and then news is only about 5 minutes.

I have tried to have Zap2it do a complet reload and also have tried the XMLTV that also uses Zap2it and it did not make a differance. I do not really mind that the late night stuff is messed up but it seems to mess up after 9PM and it has effected one of my recordings.

Thanks
Mark

  Direct Tv
Posted by: brian1516 - 2006-10-11, 12:52 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I am currently using cable for my pvr but am going to switch to direct tv. I have a hauppage 150 and was wondering if that remote will work with the direct tv receivers. Or will the direct tv receiver work with gbpvr? Thanks.
