  Support for USB video source
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2006-10-04, 04:10 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Would GBPVR work with This? This allows for HD streaming through USB from a Sat receiver. It seems the only solution available for me to obtain pure HD to my PC.

If not, how much effort (LOC, Hours etc) is involved in case a plugin is needed?

  Unable to tune 2 sources using dual tuner card
Posted by: arnabbiswas - 2006-10-04, 03:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

I bought a Hauppague WinTV 500card, which is a dual tuner card. As instructed in a previous post, I hooked up my connections as follows:

Wall Outlet --> Splitter --> Cable STB --> Composite In of tuner card
|
V
Coax In
of tuner card

In the gbpvr config, I set up 2 capture sources : 1 as a Composite, External tuner and the other one as Internal tuner, both on the same card.

However when I try to browse my channels, I get only the analog channels (direct from wall outlet after splitting) and not any digital channels (from cable STB). I know this because when I try to watch the digital channels, I get no picture and an untuned reception. Also when I try changing the analog channels, I dont see the channels change on my STB (I use a usb-uirt to change channels on STB).

What step am I missing here? My end goal of using a dual tuner card is to watch and record 2 channels simultaneously and right now I am unable to do so because I can obtain reception only from one source.

  Can't get GBPVR to install on windows X64
Posted by: hammester - 2006-10-04, 03:22 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hello,
I have windows xp 64bit and i downloaded .net 2.0 before i installed GBPVR. When i tried to install GBPVR it came up with 3 errors
1. Error 1904 module C:..../gbpvr/gbpvrwriter.ax failed to register. HRESULT-214701085
2. Error 1904 module C:..../gbpvr/gbpvrFlowstatus.ax failed to register. HRESULT-214701085
3. Error 1904 module C:..../gbpvr/netasyncflt.ax failed to register. HRESULT-214701085

After it does that i try to run GBPVR and get this message....
"to run this application, you first must install one of the following versions of the .net framework. V2.0.50727."
How do i figure out wish version of .net i am using because all i know is it is version 2.0 for 64 bit systems. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: this is where i Download .net 2.0 from is this not the most updated version?

  Advisor Skin File Browsing
Posted by: tstngry - 2006-10-04, 02:51 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

- I have installed Advisor Skin and I am attempting to use the Advisor.MCE2Blue skin with it. All went well installing, as I have done this in the past. The only problem is that this time when browsing through music or movies the file browser looks like the default blue skin. I have all of the common utilities that are suggested and I am not using any outside file or music plugins. This is really driving me crazy, any help would be greatly appreciated. Peace Wink

  aspect ratio doesnt change
Posted by: ryboto - 2006-10-04, 02:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (18)

ok, excuse me if I don't know much about the program, the configuration is a little odd. I've been using gbpvr for some time now, and havn't really had any complaints, other than the learning curve required to set it up, but at the same time it helps the user gain familiarity and understanding. I'm using the VMR9 decoder, as the custom version wouldn't resize full screen correctly. Now, in the config, if i set the aspect ratio to 4:3, or 16:9, there is no difference. Also, hitting f7 does nothing. I have a widescreen monitor, so when I play live tv in fullscreen, the black bars are present, and it makes the picture look quite small, and reminds me that I'm not actually using all of my display. If anyone has any suggestions, please, send them this way!

  Out of commission for a while...
Posted by: daphatty - 2006-10-04, 01:44 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

This seems to be going around alot lately. :o

I'm just a few weeks away from moving back to California so I will be out of commission for quite some time. My HTPC is being dismantled after I post this thread *sob* afterwhich some of its parts will be sold off. If I decide to sell any PVR relevant parts I'll post them here first.

I'll keep in touch and try to help out the new HDTV'ers that come along as much as I can. I hope my haitus won't be too long. I don't know how I ever lived without GBPVR and I'm not quite sure how I am going to survive going forward. Thanks everyone, especially sub, for all of the help and good times.

sub

i bought this dvbt capturecard twinhan alpha.

This card was unknown of gb-pvr.
I add this to mine ini file and it works now.
If you like you can add this to the main ini file of gb-pvr so it could help inexperienced people in the future..

[DTV-DVB USB2 DVB- T BDA adapter ]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Twinhan USB2 DVB-T receiver
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Antenna In Pin
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

  Virus Alert for WebInterface in 0.98.8
Posted by: jEb - 2006-10-03, 09:41 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi all,

my virus scanner (BitDefender) just reported a virus inside a file residing in the web-subdirectory of gbpvr.
The report says:

Quote:File: C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\web\Player.aspx.cs
Virus: Generic.XPL.Codebase.F7D8102A (BD-Engine)

I assume BD has detected something that isn't there (i hope so at least ;-), but has somebody else experienced problems like this?

Thanks,
jeb
