  Recordings ending prematurely
Posted by: bearnt - 2020-08-14, 07:03 AM - Forum: Linux - Replies (2)

Hi, I have been having issues with scheduled recordings stopping early, usually around the 30 minute mark for a 1 hour show. Sometimes it doesn't. Here is the latest info I gathered from my NPVR session when this last happened. https://pastebin.com/c7pJwJ4A

[44] Unexpected error in HTTP input source: System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.\

  at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()\

  at NShared.Shim.InputSourceHTTP.WorkerThread()\

[44] 401 - will not retry

On line 21 would this mean the error is with my provider? (The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.) I'm thinking so because the error doesn't always happened but just wanted to check here first. Otherwise what would be causing this issue? Please let me know if you need any other information and/or logs and the locations of those. I'm happy to share them and appreciate any help on this. Thank you!

  Recordings through Apple TV 4k
Posted by: stash201518 - 2020-08-13, 09:55 PM - Forum: NextPVR iOS and AppleTV Clients - Replies (3)

Hi all,

I encountered some issues lately with recordings done on my Windows machine (5.0.7.200726) and watched through my Apple TV app:

1. Some short recordings, like TV episodes are working fine. I can fast forward or rewind with no issues. It works like a charm. However, once I go above 2GB per file (like movies or sports live events), the fast forward does not work anymore. To reach a certain point in the recording, I need to go at normal speed, like watching. Is this a limitation of NextPVR? The very same files, once transferred into Plex Media Server of VLC are working fine.

2. I wanted to record a 4 hrs event. The EPG was ok. However, the actual recording was displaying 22 hrs on Apple TV (and other video apps). I thought that the video file is missing some info or is corrupted, but the recording was playing fine. Because of the 22 hrs display, there was no way to fast forward or pause without the video stopping and crashing. This happens to at least 75% of the files that are longer than 30 minutes.

3. About crashing: if I use the FF from the touch pad on Apple Remote, the videos more than 30 minutes are crashing. I only can pause or start from the little dedicated button.

4. Empty recordings: I have recordings that are displaying 0 MB and the app is telling me that I already watched it. No idea why. This happens every 10 recordings or something like that.

5. And finally and most important for me: once I watch a recording (any recording), I cannot re-watch it. Every time I click to watch it (again, on Apple TV), I only have 2 options: a) Delete it and b) Keep the recording. If I select keep, it returns to the main screen of the recording. Click again, same 2 options. To re-watch it I have to use another app. Is there a limitation on the number of watching sessions in the app?

Thanks for additional info that helps me understand the limitations of TV app

  ATV4K - No alpha-numeric PIN Option
Posted by: Ufotofu - 2020-08-13, 12:21 PM - Forum: NextPVR iOS and AppleTV Clients - Replies (4)

So, after a Windows 10 update (ver. 2400) my Apple TV4K NextPVR app now searches endlessly for my server. I have re-installed both the NextPVR server on my PC and re-installed the Apple TV app a couple of times. On the IOS app on my phone I can access both inside/outside the LAN if I add the private/public IPs and password (alpha-numeric). On the web app on my PC I can watch and record TV without any issues. Unfortunately, when I try to add a server on the Apple TV the PIN can only be numeric, so I can't access the server.

any episode of America's Got Talent automatically deleted after watching
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2020-08-13, 04:48 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (30)

Ok, this is the weirdest NextPVR symptom I've ever had, and you know I've had some weird ones over the years...

Every time I watch an episode of America's Got Talent, when it gets to the end OR if I exit somewhere near the end, the recording file is deleted and it's removed from the database.  So far this ONLY happens with America's Got Talent.  Any other recording I watch is fine.

The only thing that appears in the NPVR log when the recording ends and is deleted is this, tonight when I let the recording play to the end (from NPVR.log):

Code:
2020-08-12 21:06:49.541 [DEBUG][1] About to store playback position information 2020-08-12 21:06:49.541 [DEBUG][1] PlaybackPositionHelper.StorePlaybackPosition(Americas.Got.Talent.S15E12.Results.Show.1.ts, 3728, 3659) 2020-08-12 21:06:49.541 [DEBUG][1] PlaybackPositionHelper.DeletePlaybackPosition(E:\Recordings\Americas Got Talent\Season 15\Americas.Got.Talent.S15E12.Results.Show.1.ts) 2020-08-12 21:06:49.591 [DEBUG][1] Stop@0 2020-08-12 21:06:49.591 [DEBUG][1] Stopping graph@1 2020-08-12 21:06:49.862 [DEBUG][1] Stopping graph@2 2020-08-12 21:06:49.862 [DEBUG][1] Stopping graph@3 2020-08-12 21:06:49.879 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  AC3 Audio Renderer 2020-08-12 21:06:49.894 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  NPVR CC Dump 2020-08-12 21:06:49.894 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  EVR Renderer 2020-08-12 21:06:49.916 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  LAV Audio Decoder 2020-08-12 21:06:49.916 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  Line 21 Decoder 2020-08-12 21:06:49.917 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder 2020-08-12 21:06:49.950 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  NPVR CC Extractor 2020-08-12 21:06:49.950 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  NPVR TS Reader 5

and last night, when I exited about 10 minutes before the end (from NPVR.log.3):
Code:
2020-08-11 22:31:59.994 [DEBUG][1] About to store playback position information 2020-08-11 22:31:59.994 [DEBUG][1] PlaybackPositionHelper.StorePlaybackPosition(Americas.Got.Talent.S15E11.Live.Show.1.ts, 6605, 7259) 2020-08-11 22:31:59.994 [DEBUG][1] PlaybackPositionHelper.DeletePlaybackPosition(E:\Recordings\Americas Got Talent\Season 15\Americas.Got.Talent.S15E11.Live.Show.1.ts) 2020-08-11 22:32:00.054 [DEBUG][1] Stop@0 2020-08-11 22:32:00.055 [DEBUG][1] Stopping graph@1 2020-08-11 22:32:00.330 [DEBUG][1] Stopping graph@2 2020-08-11 22:32:00.330 [DEBUG][1] Stopping graph@3 2020-08-11 22:32:00.344 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  AC3 Audio Renderer 2020-08-11 22:32:00.357 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  Line 21 Decoder 2020-08-11 22:32:00.359 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  EVR Renderer 2020-08-11 22:32:00.404 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  Hauppauge AC3 Decoder 2020-08-11 22:32:00.404 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  MainConcept (HCW) MPEG-2 Video Decoder 2020-08-11 22:32:00.407 [DEBUG][1] Removing filter  NPVR TS Reader 5

The only thing that shows up in NRecord.log at the same time is this:
Code:
2020-08-12 21:06:49.585 [DEBUG][83] GetExtraInfo: ResumePointsChanged 2020-08-12 21:06:49.587 [DEBUG][83] Resume point has changed for playback of recording 2020-08-12 21:06:49.588 [DEBUG][83] GetExtraInfo@exit

and:
Code:
2020-08-11 22:32:00.044 [DEBUG][149] GetExtraInfo: ResumePointsChanged 2020-08-11 22:32:00.045 [DEBUG][149] Resume point has changed for playback of recording 2020-08-11 22:32:00.053 [DEBUG][149] GetExtraInfo@exit

What also interesting is that ONLY the .ts file is deleted.  The other files that should be deleted by a normal delete operation are left behind, like the .xml, .edl, .log etc.
My config.xml has these settings pertaining to deleting:
Code:
<DeleteAdditionalExtensions>srt,txt,log,d2a,edl,csv,bat,wme,vprj,logo.txt,dvbsub,sm,xml,map</DeleteAdditionalExtensions> <PromptForDeleteAfterPlayback>false</PromptForDeleteAfterPlayback> <ConfirmOnDelete>true</ConfirmOnDelete>

any inkling of WTH is happening here?

  Glitching audio
Posted by: glue - 2020-08-13, 03:46 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (57)

Hi, Just started using NextPVR, Easy to setup and start to use.
But I have an issue where I get a sound glitch every so often could be 20s could be 12min after the first one, does it via Kodi and web. so im guessing it either my system or the stream it self, I think I can rule out the stream I was using the same stream with PVR IPTV Simple Client on kodi, so im guessing its something on my windows10 system that NPVR is running on

Cheers for any help.

  KeyMappings.xml
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2020-08-12, 07:54 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (10)

Since I moved to V5 some months ago every time there is a new version I have to go and edit KeyMappings.xml to remove the whole {CTRL} S command under "Recordings" subsystem which stops accidentally sorting of recordings. Is there any easy way to prevent it happening now the file is not under NPVR-data?

FFmpeg settings for HDMI Encoder device.
Posted by: boukmandutty - 2020-08-12, 07:31 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (10)

I am using a hdmi encoder device (BM1000 type) as an extra tuner to capture tv from an android box (I hate commercials). I have everything work well in terms of changing the channels and viewing both in the client and in kodi. The problem is that this option gives me me a whole lot of stutter on both clients, and ramps up my server (i53330s cpu):

Quote:start C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts\testtuner.bat %1

"C:\Program Files\NextPVR\Other\ffmpeg.exe" -i http://192.168.1.177/0.ts -vcodec h264 -acodec aac -f mpegts -

And this one without the audio and video options gives me smooth play but lots of pixelation:

Quote:start C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts\testtuner.bat %1

"C:\Program Files\NextPVR\Other\ffmpeg.exe" -i http://192.168.1.177/0.ts  -f mpegts -

I have a spare haswell cpu and motherboard lying around that I think I might upgrade to but I wanted to check to make sure this was an issue of cpu horsepower before bothering.

  recording creates two files
Posted by: dcol - 2020-08-08, 06:24 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (3)

Why does NPVR create a TS and m3u8 file when recording a IPTV source? The IPTV m3u source has output=ts and records in Emby and Plex fine.
By the way, the m3u8 is always a small corrupted file and does not play.
Is there a way to prevent the m3u8? These are useless and taking up space.

Can channels be added or deleted?
Posted by: SamM - 2020-08-08, 05:59 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (14)

I had used the initial channel setup to establish channels, so I don't know how channels works in here in regard to adding or subtracting, and I didn't see anything in the wiki about it. Can any channels be added to the guide or deleted, one channel at a time?
