  Analog
Posted by: Jzzhn - 2020-08-02, 01:41 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (24)

Unfortunately, a lot of us live in rural areas where cable companies have a monopoly and are shoving old analog cable on us. ATSC offers very limited options in my area. I have installed NextPvr and it works great with ATSC. However it does not detect my analog tuner which would enable analog cable options, it only detects digital and QAM, I have no QAM. I installed Hauppauge SoftPVR and ran the .bat file. The AnalogDevice.xml configuration file was not present in the C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data after the successful install. I happened to have an old copy of that file, from an old win7 install on my hard drive. I modified that with the required information:
<Device filter="ATI AVStream Analog Capture">
              <Name>ATI Analog</Name>
              <Type>HARD_ENCODE</Type>
              <FilterEncoder>ATI AVStream MPEG2 Multiplexer</FilterEncoder>

and moved it to the \NPVR-data directory, but it did no good. How should I proceed? Log file attached.

Getting Brownouts in the .TS file
Posted by: SamM - 2020-08-02, 01:25 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (6)

1. I never got this condition using v.4, and wondering if it might be something about v.5 or my driver? It seems to only do it on color movies and not B&W.

2. I'd like to experiement by removing one of the tuners, but not sure how - is this easy to do in v.5, or do I need to reinstall and resetup?

3. I don't know which physical tuner is linked to which device in the settings. Is there a way to find out?

4. Is .ts the only file type nvpr will record?

Symptom - see picture. It pauses, clicks, pixellates - as if it's intermittently losing signal.

Regards
samm

NextPVR Recording Service doesn't install from Services
Posted by: SamM - 2020-08-01, 09:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I originally had v.4 on a computer I'm refurbishing, and I did an uninstall on npvr. Unfortunately I forgot to exit the service from the system tray first. I was told it was successfully uninstalled, but after exiting and deleting all registry keys relating to nextpvr and nrecord (and rebooting), I still see the Recording Service in the service listing in task manager. How do I get rid of that?
tks

  Schedule Recordings Changing
Posted by: MisterMister - 2020-08-01, 05:02 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (4)

I set a recording to record once a week on Saturday. But after a couple of days, it started recording daily and some of the upcoming recordings have changed the channel I have set it to record. It's supposed to be ME-TV Sat at 8pm. but tonight's and next Sat are sert for WRC, but then back to ME-TV for the next two.

I don't have a guide grabber setup yet, would that be causing the issue?

  Web App Live TV Record
Posted by: jcole998 - 2020-08-01, 01:38 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (8)

If I am watching live TV, how do I begin recording what I'm watching? In V4, ctl-K began recording and produced a dialog only if there was no guide info for what I was being watched.

I have found nothing in the Wiki.

Thanks.

  So many fails
Posted by: Higgo - 2020-07-31, 11:31 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (5)

Hi,
I am having quite a few failures to record scheduled shows (only around half succeed!).
Also, in NextPVR.exe:
• going to ‘Live TV’ rarely works (once ever I think).
• From the TV guide>double click on currently broadcasting program opens a menu> Selecting ‘Watch’ is more likely to play the program, but yesterday I had to reboot the PC to get this to work.  Mostly it will report “Unable to find available capture device (Device failed to start)”

It seems there’s a LOT of fails, but many only occur intermittently.  What can I do to make this reliable?  Can anyone help?

I’ve attached logs from yesterday.

  NextPVR tray app
Posted by: motocrossmann - 2020-07-31, 05:57 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

Does the NextPVR tray app have to be running for full functionality on a windows PC setup to use Standby mode?   I'm trying to sort out why I miss recordings sometimes and wonder if it has to do with Windows automatic restarts to apply updates.

  Apple TV App Suggestion
Posted by: meluvalli - 2020-07-31, 04:42 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (4)

Hey there.  My first post, so hopefully this is the correct place!

Was wondering if there was a way to add the function of 30 second skip 10 second back skip (or similar).  Would be nice for commercial breaks etc.

Thanks for a wonderful program!

  Channel discovery skipping channels
Posted by: peterschen - 2020-07-31, 04:36 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (4)

Hi folks,

I'm running the latest Docker version of NextPVR and I pass in my Hauppauge WinTV dualHD adapters like this:

Code:
docker run --name nextpvr -dt --restart unless-stopped -v /opt/apps/nextpvr:/config -v /tmp:/buffer --device /dev/dvb/adapter0:/dev/dvb/adapter0 --device /dev/dvb/adapter1:/dev/dvb/adapter1 --device /dev/media0:/dev/media0 -p 50010:8866 -p 50011:16891/udp nextpvr/nextpvr_amd64

They are detected fine but when I run a channel discovery for DVB-T2 no channels are detected. I created a channel file with dvbv5-scan (just to confirm that the tuner actually works). In the adapter scan logs I can see the following:

Code:
16:18:00:763 [DEBUG] >>> Scanning 522000000 16:18:07:017 [DEBUG] skipping service 'VOX HD' of type 0x1F 16:18:07:018 [DEBUG] skipping service 'SUPER RTL HD' of type 0x1F 16:18:07:018 [DEBUG] skipping service 'RTL II HD' of type 0x1F 16:18:07:018 [DEBUG] skipping service 'n-tv HD' of type 0x1F 16:18:07:018 [DEBUG] skipping service 'NITRO HD' of type 0x1F 16:18:07:018 [DEBUG] skipping service 'Tele 5 HD' of type 0x1F 16:18:07:018 [DEBUG] skipping service 'RTL HD HH/SH' of type 0x1F

So services are actually detected but then skipped for no apparent reason (none that I was able to discern). Once the scan has finished the channel config in /config/adapter0-DVB-T-channels-scan.conf actually contains all these channels but nothing shows up in the UI  Undecided .

Any pointers appreciated.

Thanks & BR
Christoph

v5 Webclient TV Guide "Live TV" Tuner indicator
Posted by: elstaci - 2020-07-31, 03:41 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

Since doing a clean install of Windows 10 version 2004 both NPVR & KODI have been working flawlessly and quite fast. Even NPVR Tray Icon is now working.

But I just updated to the newest Version 5 NPVR and now I noticed that when connecting to a "Live TV" on the "TV Guide" during the Web Client it doesn't show the Tuner collecting the data before the TV Station come on.

This feature is particularly important because it shows the status of the TV Tuner and whether it is working or not. Also shows if the Tuner is connecting or not to the server or to the Video Stream.

This has proven to be useful in knowing whether my TV Tuner is working, NPVR is working, and my TV Tuner drivers are working. Now I see no indication of the TV Tuner connecting until I see the actual TV Station turn on in the Web Client. So if the TV Tuner is not connecting for whatever reasons I will not know until hopefully it will give me an Error message like unable to connect to the Stream or something similar.

It would be nice to have an animated TV Tuner Icon or message that tells the User if the TV Tuner is connecting or not when using "Live TV" in "TV Guide" on the Web Client.

I use the Web Client mainly rather than the Desktop APP which is more convenient.
