  GBPVR with IR Blaster
Posted by: twinfrey - 2006-09-21, 11:47 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I have a Hauppauge 150. The setup for the remote was very easy and I can set up recordings and everything else very easily. Does GBPVR also send a signal to the IR blaster to change channels on my STB? I have Dish network.

Also, my Dish receiver is too far away from my computer to put the blaster on it directly. Is there any way to extend the IR blaster? I was thinking about some way to maybe extend the cable itself or maybe buying a product that resends the signal out.

If anybody has experience with this, It would be appreciated.

  wiki troubles
Posted by: frumbert - 2006-09-21, 11:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

i'm having awful trouble trying to see the wiki. It seems every time I want to check something in the documentation or read about a plugin, the wiki url just sits there and eventually times out. This has been happening for days, on multiple computers and in different browsers. Has there been something going on, or am I just bad-lucking it?

350 TV audio fine, system audio not there?
Posted by: toomanyhandles - 2006-09-21, 09:56 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Hi all;

I have a ASUS K8NE with the PVR-350 and a GForce 440 8X AGP. The mainboard has a RealTek ALC850 5.1 surround.

It is all working fine, nice video out, using the TV audio out on the 350. I never tried any of the onboard audio.

I just got a LCD Tv/monitor combo, with VGA and s-video inputs.

So now I want to move away from the coax out on the 350. I have the 350 working via overlay to the VGA-out on the GForce card just fine-- but I can't get any audio out the center channel of the onboard 5.1. I'm not setting up the full 5.1 but thought I should be able to get audio out of the center.

And in fact, I have no system audio at all-- no Windows sounds. LEt alone the sound for the video coming thru on overlay (I've not tried hooking the audio onto the 350 while going thru overlay-- that might work but makes my switching from CATV to computer to DVD etc tricky).

I've put on the latest drivers for the RealTek stuff, albeit from Realtek no ASUS yet; I've checked all the sound software settings; no joy. I've tried telling the GBPVR config to use both directX and regular Realtek out. hmm.. I haven't done anything from the WinTV software...

I haven't hooked up the headphone jack at the front of the CPU yet but will do that sometime.

Is this a side effect of the 350 or is something else wrong? Will the 5.1 just "not work" unlessI have a couple speakers set up? the controller software for it doesn't show any speakers present at all. I have a mini adapter going from the center speaker to the 2 RCA sound inputs on the TV cabinet at the moment.

Is a quirk of the 350 no sound output through mainboard, only its own output?

I've been meaning to get another tuner/digitizer card added in but havent decided what to use yet.

Thanks for help-

  Database Errors
Posted by: Lindsay - 2006-09-21, 09:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Friend reported that his TVGuide ended up blank as it was not getting updated automatically. xmltvnz working OK and the epg/TVGuide would update if invoked manually. Looking at his gbpvrrecordingservice.exe logs I can see lots of database errors but it also reports that the epg update was successful. EPG set to update at 5.00am.

Logs attached.

Edit:- the database errors come from the conversion process. He has switched the dvr-ms to 'no conversion' so this should fix this. However, the tvguide is still not updating properly e.g. his ends at Sun, not Mon, as mine does.
Sorry if the header is not very accurate.

  ComSkip tweaking
Posted by: zehd - 2006-09-21, 07:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I was wondering if someone has a quick fix for me...

This week on Boston Legal, Comskip marked everything as commerical before the actual show started. That's too good. I would like to see the "Last time, on Boston Legal" stuff... (I could live with out this - It's my own fault I don't remember what happened last season...)

Also, last week's "Survivor", Comskip cut off the very end...

Basically, after last commercial, there's a Station News Brief, Station ID, more commericals, and then "Next week on Survivor" followed by the credits...

On Survivor, during the credits, you hear the last words of the guy/gal voted out...

Are there some settings in comSkip, I could change?

Thanks

Multi record, post processing is sequential...
Posted by: zehd - 2006-09-21, 06:51 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

This is something cool I've just noticed.

I have recorded several shows the last couple of days. There is a postprocessing.bat set to initite ZProcess, but for this thread lets say the bat starts comskip and then comclean...

It seems that GBPVR held onto the shows that needed to be passed to the PostProcessing.bat, and launched the bat one after another... That's cool... GBPVR makes sure that only one PostProcessing.bat (and the spawned ComSkip or ComClean) would run at a time...

>> Is there a switch somewhere that would launch concurrent PostProcessing...?

(I also have a much faster computer that I've been trying to break by throwing at it heaps of work - if I could have two shows process at once, would be great...)

Will Windows xp 64 bit work with GBPVR?
Posted by: hammester - 2006-09-21, 04:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I have searched all threw these fourms and have not been able to find a definite answer. Some people said they had luck with the older version of GBPVR and .net 1.1 and others said they could not get it to work. I havn't been able to find any recent threads on this subject. Is windows xp 64 bit supported by GBPVR now? Is there any way to get it to work? Thanks in advance.

  Internet phone/IM plugin
Posted by: skoodog - 2006-09-21, 04:15 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (7)

I'd like to see a VOIP addon where a call can be answered via bluetooth headset, and pauses the TV - similar to how the mp3 phones work when an incoming call comes in.

Something similar w/ IM proggies would be nice, but the limit of having to have a kb would be problematic.
