  sync problem with sound?
Posted by: aristottle - 2006-09-18, 10:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I noticed that some of my recorded video on my gb-pvr has sync problems with the sound. The people on the screens mouths are moving before the sound starts then stop while the sound continues.

Have I recorded at the wrong quality setting ( I believe I chose medium)?

Any advice?

WinPvr 150 CME
Windows XP PRO
64 meg nvidia video card
512 megs of ram
celeron 2000
256 gig hard drive

Should I be recording in the highest possible quality? How much more space does a 1 hour program take up compared to 1 hour recorded at medium quality?

Don't skip the last commercial segment
Posted by: rlbond - 2006-09-18, 10:03 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

I wish there was a way to not automatically skip the final commercial segment if it extends through the end of the recording. Often things such as "scenes from the next episode" or the credits are in this flagged commercial block and then there is no way to view them other than disable automatic commercial skip.

Posted by: unixdude - 2006-09-18, 09:08 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

Greetings everyone!

I just bought a Norwood Micro Digital/Analog PCI TV Tuner Card (it was on clearance for $60) It touts enjoying HDTV 1080i...

So far, I have found only three threads that mention this card. Two simply say that it is unsupported. One seems to infer that there is a way to make it work...

Do any of you have direct experience with this card? I haven't opened it, and won't until I here yea or nea from this forum. (I can return the card within 15 days)

Thanks in advance!

Programme Start - End time on tv guide?
Posted by: nemulate - 2006-09-18, 09:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,

for the current highlighted programme is it possible to show start and end time? ie with the programme description. Is there a skin that does this? I'm using dvb epg data.

Thanks

  MVP - Larger font skin...
Posted by: zehd - 2006-09-18, 07:58 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (15)

My eyes are getting to that 'need glasses' stage. My brain is still at that 'Don't need glasses' stage.

The MVP, on the 27 inch TV, shows quite a good Video picture, but the fonts used by almost every screen are a little fuzzy. Thought it was me, but my wife confirms it.

When I watch PVR on my Computer, the fonts are shabby too, mostly on OSD stuff, but I never got around to asking anyone about that...

But with the MVP, I'm really wanting something with a larger font.

I've tried out Tipster's skins. The fonts are even smaller than Default Blue...

I know that with lareger fonts, means less info can be on a screen at a time...

I've tried editing some of the skin.xml in the default Blue skin. I just wondered if someone has already solved this problem...

  recording back to back shows
Posted by: mikeneron - 2006-09-18, 06:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

A lot of times I will be recording back to back to back shows on the same channel. Let's say I am recording 4 - 30 minute shows all back to back on the same channel. When the first show is finished, it will stop the recording and start the 2nd show. The problem here is that it still changes the channel even though the 2nd show is on the same channel as the 1st. The problem this causes is there is now a 2 second gap during the channel change.

Is there any way to tell GBPVR not to change channels if recording is being done on the same channel in back to back recordings?

I know I could setup a manual record for the entire 2 hours on that one channel, but then the episodes wouldn't all get put into the database and I wouldn't be able to setup scheduled recordings that way.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Mike.

Intermittent no video(just menu) but sound ok
Posted by: 5058 - 2006-09-18, 06:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Apologies if this has been discussed but a google search didn't find anything similiar.
Intermittently when watching recorded shows I will stop a recording and choose another recording to play. When I push enter to play the video , the sound starts to play but the screen still shows the menu with the highlighted recording.
The sound will skip ahead/back but the video is still just the menu. Only a reboot will fix the concern and sometimes it will take a few days to come back. This happened on the last version as well as the latest version from a couple of weeks ago.
TIA

  ffmpeg command line question
Posted by: turkey - 2006-09-18, 05:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

i am trying to do some video encoding for my palm tx which has a screen size of 320x240. I am setting up a custom command line for ffmpeg in the gbpvr config file with a reduced bitrate, etc. but i cant figure out how to reduce the size of the video to 320x240.

does anyone know what the command line switch would be for video size?

thanks in advance!

EDIT: I figured it out, so please disregard this question!
