burn to DVDR on the fly
Posted by: bone - 2006-09-05, 02:34 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

Hopefully I'm posting in the right area, but I'm looking for any plugin or utility as I saw a few, but wasn't sure if they were what I'm looking for. I'm looking for something that while I'm in GB-PVR I will be able to burn directly to a DVDR, but in a DVD format not keeping it as an Mpeg. If it's not possible to burn on the fly then what is recommended. In essense I'd prefer to have both as if there's a show say I recorded and wanted to watch it at a friend's house, it would be nice to select it and do all the burning through GB-PVR even if it's much later and also would be nice if I was watching a special event and could burn it on the fly or at least create a DVD ISO that's ready to go.
Thanks in advance

I know it may be a bit taboo but I was having trouble with the new version of gbpvr and was wondering if someone could PM me a link to the old version or could help direct me where to get the old version. I forgot to back mine up Sad

  Zap2It after moving seems odd
Posted by: elisurf - 2006-09-05, 12:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I moved from one area code/ISP to another and needed to update my Zap2It account to reflect the change. After changing the area code and selecting the new ISP, I logged out of Zap2It and updated my EPG. This caused exactly nothing to occur. I then laboriously deleted every channel from my sources tab of the GBPVR config, and updated my EPG again. This worked, I actually got all the channels, but they are completely scrambled. As in: 2,3,42,5,11,68,30,45,25,36,13, etc. It's the strangest thing. It also shows up in this order when the TV Guide is selected under the GBPVR main menu.

Any help? While you are at it, my Zap2It account says I have the Gold version until 10-26-2006; is this a pay-per-month service after this date? If so, how much?

Thanks all!

"Recordings That Failed to Schedule" error ?
Posted by: jksmurf - 2006-09-05, 12:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Sub,
As per the image in this post, I get a "Recordings That Failed to Schedule" error when trying to record from Episode Search in EWA. UncleJohnsBand (of EWA fame) says it is a GBPVR thing, not an EWA thing.

Has the recordings conflict behaviour changed in the last version? I just noticed that there was a recording already scheduled at the same time, but the old behaviour (IIRC) was to allow recording of both shows, with a yellow "conflict" flag appearing on the manage recordings page.

However this new behaviour just says it (scheduling) failed, and not that there was a conflict. Both recordings (old behaviour) would be good IMO, despite the conflict status, as this can be overidden by those those using priority recordings e.g.

I used to remember it (would this have anything to do with the (sticky thread) patch for not being able delete recordings, I sort of remember this started after that), but it may be completely un-related.

UncleJohnsBand's reply

Quote:I don't know.....I didn't change anything.....The EWA simply calls the record show API that is provided with GBPVR....all the conflict determiniation is done in the GBPVR API code......

The message you see displayed about it failing was added back in build 36.....prior to that no message was displayed at all in EWA should a recording not schedule.

The check (as I think I mentioned before) is a simple check:
All shows to record are sent through the scheduling API.
Then a list of all record shows is pulled via the API.
The list of shows that were selected to record is checked against the list of recorded shows returned from the API.
If a show is not found then it is listed at the top of the grid like you are seeing.

To my knowlege nothing has changed in the schedulerecording API that would prevent a show from scheduling in a conflict state....but only sub could answer that for sure.....

  Timeshift Recording Disappears
Posted by: hawk_2050 - 2006-09-05, 12:37 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi All,

I am running v97.13 of GBPVR. I have set things up so that when LiveTV is selected GBPVR goes into Timeshift mode. Last night I hit the record button on the Hauppauge remote and chose the option to record until the end of the show. After the show ended I went to look for it so I could watch what had been recorded however it was no where to be found. I tried it again this time watching the Timeshift directory. I saw the recording file created and grow as the show progressed. However at the end of the show the file that had been created was apparently deleted. Anyone else seen this behaviour? Is there a simple explanation or fix?

All help appreciated.

Cheers
Richard

  Remote, Hauppauge vr Microsoft
Posted by: mitchel2345 - 2006-09-04, 11:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Fist let me tell you about my setup. I want to use my PC as a media center and a desktop PC. I have a dual output video card with the VGA going to my monitor and the DVI going to my projector. I was going to purchase beyond TV but after looking at GB it does everything that I need/want for free! Here is what I plan to buy...

DVICO FusionHDTV 5 RT Lite
Hauppauge PVR-150
Remote

My dilemma is that if I but the MCE ed. of the PVR I get the Hauppauge MCE remote with it. But the wiki says it has limited support in GB (need to use HIP). If I buy the regular ver. of the 150 and get a Microsoft MCE remote it is an extra $20. Which am I better to go with? Is it that hard to use the Hauppauge remote in GB? Is it worth $20 extra dollars for the Microsoft remote?

Thanks,
Mitchell

  alcohol instead of daemon tools
Posted by: bone - 2006-09-04, 10:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

How does the daemon tools feature work? The reason I'm asking is if I'm able to use alcohol instead of daemon tools, as it's the software I already use and didn't want to install daemon tools to mount images. I'd prefer to just keep using alcohol since it can mount more types of images and has more features and I already have it installed as well.
I guess I'm just not comopletely sure how it's part of the system. If I create an image and mount it with daemon-tools or even alcohol how is this even effecting gb-pvr, I'd figure it shouldn't care if you put a real DVD or an image.

  Failing automatic EPG update
Posted by: stefan - 2006-09-04, 08:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

My updates are supposed to happen at about 3:00 a.m. They don't. Something goes wrong. See attached log. What bothers me some is that it works perfectly if I right click tray icon and choose "Update EPG"; then it runs my UPdateEPG.bat, which runs my grabber, and then it updates GBPVR's EPG... any ideas what to investigate? Smile

  Config Help please
Posted by: odman13 - 2006-09-04, 07:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi, I just downloaded gbpvr. I know I'm missing a number of steps but I don't know where to start. I ran the tuning assistant and that worked fine. When I run the config prog. it doesn't bring up my tuner which is Aver M150. I can't seem to get the EPG to work and it says I don't have multiplexers installed. Under config when I go to Capture sources and click add I have no idea what to put in there. If you guys could point me in the right direction to get this thing running I'd much appreciate it.

Thanks.
