I love the Tree View of the search results. But there's no sorting options. If any - the default I think should be by air date. However choosing sorting (while viewing the results) would be better.
Surprisingly - there's no sorting option even in the table mode?
I am trying to record the HD stream from the firewire port of my Motorola 6200 cable box. I use VLC to capture the stream and save it to a file. Everything works fine through VLC alone, I can manually start and stop recordings as many times as I want. When I use external recorder to integrate this into GBPVR I can only record once, after that VLC cannot open the stream again until I reset my cable box. I found the following lines in the GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log file.
Judging from the third line it appears that external recorder is killing the vlc process before vlc:quit has a chance to execute. I have tested this and killing the process instead of closing properly with the vlc:quit command does cause the problem that I am experiencing. How do I stop external recorder from killing the process?
I have the most vexing issue with gbpvr, after playing a DVD inside gbpvr and returning to the menu system--no audio, not anywhere on my system. The only fix I have found is to restart in safe mode, delete my sound card and completely reinstall it. The sound does not come back after a simple reboot. Does anyone know more about how this thing plays DVDs that would cause this?
The audio is fine throughout until I play a DVD and then it is fine until I finish the DVD and return to gbpvr--I am very frustrated!!
I have even tried two different sound cards using different chipsets, etc.
I have a problem that any channel below 100 isn't showing up in the program guide.
I have my locals from Dishnet on channels 7 through 27, but in the guide you don't see them. I checked my zap2it account, and the channels are selected.
I love the EWA. Also got good WAF results... wife is using it on our desktop to see what's on tonight.
What I found confusing was the dealing with the conflicts. If I have two shows to record, A and B and they conflict, in the Manage Recordings I see them both, only one (first?) shows "COnflict".
1) How can I tell which one is it conflicting with? wihtout scanning the rest of recordings for same date/time?
2) In order to resolve, I need to cancel EITHER of the recordings. But today's interface only allows me to cancel one. Why not add an interface for showing the conflict as an object, with two (or more) options to resolve?
Code:
CONFLICT: "Show A" overlaps "Show B"
What to do?
[FONT=Courier New]* Cancel recording of "Show A"
Cancel recording of "Show B"
Do nothing[/FONT]
I probably should know how to do this but I've managed to wrap my brain in knots trying various things.
I have a situation where my main process thread creates a new thread that mostly sits around doing nothing until a specific time. At that point it needs to 'talk' to the main thread by passing some data so the main thread can act on it.
What's the best way to pass information back to the main thread in this way? I'm running myself round in circles.
I made a quick wrapper of a tv program called TVUPlayer (http://www.viidoo.com)
You use ubustream to control the wrapper and launch the television streams
Install tvuplayer and VLC, make sure they both install to C:\Program files\TVUPlayer and C:\Program files\VideoLan\VLC respectively (or whatever their default paths where, im unsure now)
Then go to http://www.viidoo.com/en/chlist.php and hold your mouse over a channel, in your status bar at the bottom you will see
javascript:nav(10016,'ABC')
or something similar to that, 10016 is your channel number. In ubustream add your station (ABC), and in station url simply put 10016, or whatever your channel number would be.
This is a proof of concept, and it just about works. Hopefully someone out here will take the code and make some improvements. Note its my first time coding in Vb6 for years, I thought id excersise my VB muscle again
Took me 20 minutes to throw together, only like 30 lines of code if even that much, so dont expect wonders.
On my new setup I have done not too many recordings yet. Twice, the recording service has died on me. I can't find anything in the logs that indicate what is wrong. Maybe you can, sub?
At 20:00 today, two recordings were scheduled to start (Idol 2006 and Gilmore Girls). I got a 0Kb file for Idol 2006, and no file at all for Gilmore Girls. And the old "see, the old computer never did this, was it really necessary to buy this new one?" from the wife
