OSD with picture in overlay mode?
Posted by: barbarian - 2006-09-03, 11:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (18)

I thought there was a paragraph on this in the Wiki once, but I cannot find it anymore. Anyways, I just setup a new installation, with a PVR 150, on Windows 2000. When the OSD comes up, the video disappears, and will not return until the OSD goes away. Is there any real way around this? Is this a limitation of the Overlay mode?

If this is caused by Overlay mode, will VMR7 mode in GBPVR work in Windows 2000 if I can find the correct build of directx that supports it? In other words, does GBPVR query the DirectX/DirectDraw system to see if it is available, or does it just disable it when it sees Windows 2000? There is some chatter on the internet about how DirectX 9.0b included it, then it may have been removed later.

EDIT: The solution is using Windows XP. http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...stcount=13

Unplugged, then Replugged Cable, Now Overlay is Bad??
Posted by: oddible - 2006-09-03, 10:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

So my setup was working perfectly this morning. I moved some furniture and had to unplug the cable cord from the back of the computer and then replugged it back in. Now my screen has the flickering 1 inch bar at the bottom. I've hit F7 and gone through all the overlay options but I can't seem to get it back to where it was (used to work fine on Auto).

Ideas!?

  Another IR Blaster Issue
Posted by: wombat_58 - 2006-09-03, 10:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have recently come back to GB-PVR as MCE would no longer record material from my Motorola 6200 as my cable company has implemented Macrovision on the analog outputs rendering recording impossible.

My MCE remote and blaster send the correct channel codes learned in GB-PVR yet sometimes, maybe 20% of the time, the Motorola 6200 fails to change channels correctly.

I am thinking that perhaps the blasts are too quick/slow. Do I have to have the remote working properly in the Hauppauge app to be able to adjust the speed of the blasting as I can not see my model number box as supported.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

  Bridge (Wireless Router) On Sale
Posted by: ElihuRozen - 2006-09-03, 09:56 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - No Replies

I just wanted to let people know that the US Robitics Wireless Router is on sale this week through September 9th at CompUSA. This router is nice because it can be configured to run in bridge mode. I bought two and have my gbpvr server on one upsatirs in the office & my MVP on the other one acting as a bridge downstairs. So, if people are looking for an easy way to wirelessly connect an MVP, this is it. The router is $15 after rebate. (I sent one rebate in my wife's name to the house & the other to me at work since we have different last names.) Here is a link: http://www.compusa.com/products/product_...ode=331849

  channel changing with two cards
Posted by: kb1ibh - 2006-09-03, 09:40 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

ive been using the Leadtek pvr2000 for some time now with great sucess, with a MCE remote, and a standard directv reciever... im planning on adding another reciever, and tuner card very soon... is it atall possible to distinguish between the two IR blasters on the MCE remote USB reciever so that gbpvr can independently change the channel on each reciever? or will i be forced to have two different methods of changing the channel?

Plugin help for a newbie :)
Posted by: bone - 2006-09-03, 07:04 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (8)

I just installed GB-PVR and I'm really happy, but I was looking at the plugins and they all look really cool. The theatre plugin looks really nice and the instructions seem so simple and straight forward, yet I'm not getting it. The download zip file just has an executable that seems to install a dll file in a directory, but when I open up the gbpvr configuration and look at plugins I don't see the theatre option there. I tried a few other plugins, so maybe I'm doing something wrong?

  ATSC OTA HDTV questions
Posted by: dvasco - 2006-09-03, 06:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I am thinking of getting a Kworld ATSC-110 to capture OTA HDTV signals when there are two different programs on at the same time that I want to record and one is available on HDTV OTA.

How is the signal captured? Hardware or stream? Will my PC be able to handle the HDTV signal? Is the filesize directly dependent on the Capture Settings under Capture Source?

I keep getting an error report when trying to map channels
Posted by: master321 - 2006-09-03, 04:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

hi i am trying to use gbpvr as i bought a Kworld DVB-t 300u and the software that came with that was rubbish. When i have set all the settings such as transmitter and location within UK i try to map channels (have tried both bleb and the one that is broadcasted over DVB) however i keep getting the error report message asking me to send to microsoft. The program finds all the channels as if you don't click the don't send button gbpvr keeps mapping channels in the background and you can see the preview pictures however as soon as you click on the window it goes black. please help.
