GUI crashing right after video playback ends
Posted by: wraithetc - 2006-08-29, 04:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Whenever I play a video from the video library and it ends by itself without me pushing stop or something the GUI will crash and the screen just remains black.

From here I can access TV etc but of course the GUI is not visible. This does not happen during playback of recorded shows however.

The bulk of the videos I play back are in .ogm format.

I attached my logs below.

Thanks for the help in advance! Smile

Theatre Listing - Favourite Theaters Possible?
Posted by: willyperkins - 2006-08-29, 01:02 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello,

Love the Favourite Theatres Plugin... Only thing is there are two pages of theatres listed for my zipcode, any config setting for or possibility of filtering the list by favourite (or even nearest) theatres?

Weather - can't navigate to next day or previous day on Detailed Forecast
Posted by: willyperkins - 2006-08-29, 12:34 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello,
I've tried everything I can think of, and couldn't find anybody else with this issue.. When I am in the Detailed forecast view, I see a "Previous Day" with a yellow button and a "Next Day" with a blue button, but can't figure out how to go to previous or next day.

I read a post saying there was a keymap file somewhere in case I don't have blue or yellow buttons on my remote (I don't, and don't use a remote anyway), but is there anyway to navigate using the keyboard or mouse without any other config work?

Great plug-in.

  DVB-S general questions
Posted by: the-warriners - 2006-08-29, 11:25 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hi - as i will soon have a sky digital box and dish doing nothing i thought i could add it to my gbpvr setup.

I am restricted to a USB2 based DBV-S system as my pc only takes half height cards. There are some about - are they any good?

What channels will i get via them as i wont be able to use my viewing card?

Any advice appreciated

  auto aspect or F7?
Posted by: stefan - 2006-08-29, 10:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Not sure if I understand how this should all work, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that auto aspect ratio will never work when recording off a set top box? If that is the case, any chance of adding support for hitting F7 with your remote when using USB-UIRT as input device? Big Grin Or am I better off leaving aspect ratio at "fill" and use my tv's aspect control?

  Running multiple instances of gbpvr?
Posted by: n_s_simpson - 2006-08-29, 10:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi everyone, I am running this software on my PC but accessing it remotely via a MediaMVP. I want to know if there is a way to run several instances of gbpvr from the same PC so that several MediaMVP's can be used in the different rooms of our house. I have a couple of Dbox's (so one for each MediaMVP) and will have a couple of DVB-T cards in the PC (in a week or so).

I know that I can run multiple WinXP OS's using VMWare (although not sure if the DVB-T cards will work using this setup as not able to try it yet).

Is this the only way or can you create various instances within one OS?

Also, what about accessing the different Dbox's from each instance? Can I record using one Dbox and watch something on the other Dbox that is setup in another gbpvr instance?
For instance, I record Sky One in the living room using a Dbox as a source, and my fiancee watches Sky Movies upstairs using the other Dbox as a source. Is it possible for me to watch Sky Movies downstairs via gbpvr if she's watching it through another instace of gbpvr? Does that make sense?

Finally, I guess it's easy to share recordings made from either gbpvr although they won't show up in the recorded listings on the gbpvr that didn't make the recording. I can simply add the folder to the video option and access it that way.

Thanks

Nick

  Problem with DBox plugin
Posted by: n_s_simpson - 2006-08-29, 08:46 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (20)

Hi everyone

Just about got everything working within source being a Dbox.

I had a problem with deleting recordings so I added the patch.
I saw another patch to fix problems using DVB-T cards so installed that too.

Now, it works when selecting a problem through the TV guide but it doesn't work by selecting Live TV (even though the channel selected on the Dbox is a channel setup to work with GBPvr). It flickers a bit as though it's trying but then reverts back to the main menu.

It has worked before I installed the patches. Might be coincidence. Anyone got any idea why this option is nolonger working?

What can i do with my Sky Dig Box?
Posted by: the-warriners - 2006-08-29, 08:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I am soon moving from Sky Digital to NTL digital as it a lot cheaper and we dont watch much other than the free channels anyway.

I currently have gbpvr running using a NOVA-T USB2 device and its fine although the siginal isnt wonderful and i get some breakup. I will now have a sky dish and box doing nothing apart from receiving free channels so i thought i should be able to hook it to the pvr box and have it as a second tuner.

The only downside is the pc box is small and takes half height pci cards so usb might be easier.

Could anyone suggest how i can get my sky dish and gbpvr talking to each other?
Thanks

  Trouble with windows media player
Posted by: nitrostealth13 - 2006-08-29, 07:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi, Gbpvr is working great, I normally watch my recordings through tv out- but now and again I like to sit at the computer to watch. The problem is- I used to be able to watch my recordings via Windows media player and everything was working fine. Lately however, I've run into a few problems. The first- when I open up one of the recordings in windows media player, I get sound but NO VIDEO. I'm unsure of why this happened all of a sudden. The second- when I navigate to recordings directory, (In my case, it is an entirely seperate drive from the OS drive) ex: E:/media/videos- when i open "videos" an error pops up on the screen - i'm sure everyone is familiar with it ...."Windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvenience" ya know, that whole bit. This gets annoying, because I also use the same folder for streaming to my website. All of this worked fine- til one random day. I never made any changes that i am aware of. Anyone know whats going on??? Please help.

P.S. As for my website- the videos just sort of hang at "connecting"....but whatever.

I know this may not be gbpvr related, but I figured someone might know a fix for it. Ya'll have helped me out so much in the past- i figured it was worth a shot.

PC Client, gbpvr.ldb, ASP .NET permissions?
Posted by: ApexHack - 2006-08-29, 04:53 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Did you hear the one about the statistician?
Probably….

Seriously, I'm getting pretty frustrated I can't get this to work when it seems like most have done it with little problem.

Whenever the RecordingService runs on the server the lock file is created and deleted when stopped. I obviously need to have it running on the server all the time.

I spent hours trying to figure out how to set .NET permissions, but only succeeded in confusing myself thoroughly. I'm hoping someone can help me get it to where both the client and server have correct permissions so the lock file is not created, or allowed to be manipulated by both. I think it has something to do with File I/O whatever.

The odd thing to me is that in gbpvr.exe.log things look like they're going well until it gets to the log excerpt at the end which has problems with station list, ChannelFactory and something else that I don't understand.

Man, I just don't know why I'm having so much trouble. And now I'm pissed to the point where I will either get it working or destroy something trying.

I will look into webadmin as a last resort.

Oh, and all this is for NET 1.1 on GBPVR ver.96.08. I hope I'm not getting gipped on support just because I choose to stick with an older version.

I would sincerely appreciate some help.
Cheers
