  Overscan problem, PVR-500
Posted by: -Oz- - 2006-08-29, 03:24 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

Hello,

I'm having a problem related to overscan. I need to force this program to overscan so i don't end up with the following problems:

I would like it to not have the weird edges in all tv modes, viewing, recording ect. I'm using the Hauppage PVR-500. Help?

Possible other important hardware: MB: MSI K8NGM2-FID (outputting to tv via s-video).

TIA

  Channel Mapping
Posted by: vorgusa - 2006-08-29, 02:52 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I tried looking through the forum and could not find anything about my problem... I have a Dvico Fusion5 RT gold and I was able to update the EPG using zap2it and find the card using the settings but then when I try to map the channels I get "GB-PVT was unable to start the DBA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use" There do not seem to be too many options in the configuration, everything is greyed out except the device number, country and region and country and region only have one option. Using the dvico software I was able to get it to work just fine, but I get this for this program so I unistalled the Dvico to make sure it was not using it. In the status I get that the card is asleep and in Mux Checker I get "NO MULTIPLEXER FILTERS WHERE FOUND ON YOUR MACHINE." I have Power DVD installed on the computer with MPEG2 decoders not sure about encoders, but I would think Dvico would install that... not sure if this is two problems or one.. please send me some help.. thanks

White Lines at top of Recorded Video
Posted by: oddible - 2006-08-29, 12:19 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I assume these are data lines for CC or something. Some of the other posts on this subject were pretty old. Wondering if there is something that has been done recently to add simple support for removing / adjusting for this in GBPVR playback of recorded video?

If I have to adjust Overscan settings to do this, where do I find these settings? GBPVR or in GeForce software?

Thanks.

  Recording option
Posted by: wraithetc - 2006-08-29, 12:09 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

I love Gb-PVR for its functionality and ease of use. It always bugs me however to use its reocurring recordings because no matter what I always end up with a bunch of re runs.

It would be awesome if there was the option "Season Ticket- First runs/New episodes on this channel only" for recording.

Transferring GB-PVR to a new System
Posted by: rowle1jt - 2006-08-29, 12:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I have my new GB-PVR rig built, and I would like to be able to take my recordings/database/scheduled recordings with me from the old (current) machine to the new one.

On the new machine, I installed .NET 2.0, GB-PVR 97.13 (with the patch) as well as the Contour HC skin, comskip, BleepBloop and Weather. All I need to do is transfer my PVR150 (when the current pvr comes out of service) into the new machine.

Is it possible to take all the info with me? If not, its not a huge deal, but it would be nice. Is it simple as just copying the database? (SQL lite)

I am guessing that I should set my skin to "Blue" and not contour HC as well as removing the plug-ins for now too, right?

  Newbie Question regarding saved recordings...
Posted by: n_s_simpson - 2006-08-28, 10:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi guys, just got this up and running sucessfully and am using it through MediaMVP.

The problem I have is a recording that's showing up in my recordings screen but it doesn't exist. What's worse is that it won't let me delete it. When selecting delete it waits for approx 10 seconds then returns to previous screen but the listing is still there. Other programs will delete so don't know what the problem is.

I have found the database where the listing is located (gbpvr.mdb) and the table it's in (RECORDING_SCHEDULE) so I've deleted it and all seems OK (made a backup of the DB just in case though).

Can anyone tell me if I've done the correct thing to resolve this error so is this going to cause problems later on down the line?

Thanks

Nick

  How to manually record ?
Posted by: vistaCA - 2006-08-28, 09:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Several TV channels were missing from my TV Guide, I updated EPG and still not there. Although I was able to watch thru Live TV....odd.

So desperate to record Formula One racing yesterday, all I could do was hit the record button on the remote. However when I returned home last night I only had one hour of racing.....bummer.

Is there a way to manually schedule a channel to record if it doesn't appear in the TV Guide?

Or maybe the correct question is, do you have any idea why the channel was missing in TV Guide although I could watch thru Live TV?

Thanks.

Hello, just wondering after recording the shows using a Hauppauge WINTV-PVR-USB2 through the GBPVR software... how can i make the size of the video files smaller. I keep reading on how 1 hr of video is 3 GB of space.

Thanks

Proper BDA multiplexer for view and stream?
Posted by: Barsk - 2006-08-28, 03:48 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I haven't quite got this. I have a DVB-T (BDA) TV-card that I can properly watch and record shows with in dvr-ms format. However that format does not work when I try to stream the programme with the EWA (Enhanced Web Module). If I select TS format, then streaming works fine. However watching the programme in gbpvr does not work.

What multiplexer/format should I use to be able to record, watch in gbpvr, and stream?

At a loss...

/Barsk
