MVP status in windows/gbpvr system tray
Posted by: martint123 - 2006-08-25, 09:02 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (7)

I'm currently away from home and remotely logging into my home PC and a couple of times have needed to reboot the remote system. I can't see an easy way to check if an MVP is on and in use other than running the firewall status screen. A bit like 'show status' of the recording service.

What would be handy would be an "MVP Status" program or 'right click' option on gbpvr in the system tray where I could see if they are connected, if they are playing a recording and how long since a keypress on the remote. Really nice, but probably only available on a custom dongle would be the ability to remotely put an MVP into 'standby'.

None essential, but for me would be 'nice to have'.

Send keys 2 gbpvr WITHOUT STEALING FOCUS!
Posted by: pBS - 2006-08-25, 06:55 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (40)

Here's a little app that can send keystrokes to gbpvr, without having or stealing focus!
Use it with hip or girder or irrremote to be able to use 2 monitors without stepping on eachother's toes!

Notes for use:
Simply run this app with keystrokes as arguments..special key list at bottom of page..{alt} {shift} etc. eg. send2gbpvr "1" or send2gbpvr "{enter}"
MCE users need to use the MCEir third party driver or you'll get the double hit keystrokes.
It does add a slight delay but it's barely noticeable, holding key down does repeat nicely Smile

Put it in System-wide keys list in HIP, so keys will always be active no matter which program is in focus on other monitor...EDIT: don't have to if gbpvr is only app setup in HIP..just setup as normal keys..

also there are 'send' message codes for gbpvr for some keys...[post messages] they get sent only to gbpvr no matter what..i just use this app for the ones that aren't there..
just add these as a 'post message' with message being 32771 and wparam= the # below
here's the list..

Code:
REW 242 FF 222 PLAY 245 STOP 246 RECORD 247 Track- 228 Track+ 222 Back 223 Info 233 Start 205 Ch+ 224 Ch- 225 TVRec 247 pause 240 1 193 2 194 3 195 4 196 5 197 6 198 7 199 8 200 9 201 GREEN 288 BLUE 233 RED 242 YELLOW 248

Oddities: it's a windows thing so i doubt Sub can do anything about it but when starting a file, Windows steals focus for the playing activemovie window...not a big deal, but it does steal focus only when starting up video. [Thanks Microsoft! Grrr]

Here are the keys to send:
Code:
Send Command = Resulting Keypress A-Z and 0-9 as usual eg. send2gbpvr "123" send2gbpvr "hello there" {!} = ! etc. {#} = # {+} = + {^} = ^ {{} = { {}} = } {SPACE} = SPACE {ENTER} = ENTER key on the main keyboard {ALT} = ALT {BACKSPACE} or {BS} = BACKSPACE {DELETE} or {DEL} = DELETE {UP} Up arrow {DOWN} Down arrow {LEFT} Left arrow {RIGHT} Right arrow {HOME} HOME {END} END {ESCAPE} or {ESC} ESCAPE {INSERT} or {INS} INS {PGUP} PGUP {PGDN} PGDN {F1} - {F12} Function keys {TAB} TAB {PRINTSCREEN} PRINTSCR {LWIN} Left Windows key {RWIN} Right Windows key {NUMLOCK} NUMLOCK {CTRLBREAK} Ctrl+Break {PAUSE} PAUSE {CAPSLOCK} CAPSLOCK {NUMPAD0} - {NUMPAD9} Numpad digits {NUMPADMULT} Numpad Multiply {NUMPADADD} Numpad Add {NUMPADSUB} Numpad Subtract {NUMPADDIV} Numpad Divide {NUMPADDOT} Numpad period {NUMPADENTER} Enter key on the numpad {APPSKEY} Windows App key {LALT} Left ALT key {RALT} Right ALT key {LCTRL} Left CTRL key {RCTRL} Right CTRL key {LSHIFT} Left Shift key {RSHIFT} Right Shift key {SLEEP} Computer SLEEP key {ALTDOWN} Holds the ALT key down until {ALTUP} is sent {SHIFTDOWN} Holds the SHIFT key down until {SHIFTUP} is sent {CTRLDOWN} Holds the CTRL key down until {CTRLUP} is sent {LWINDOWN} Holds the left Windows key down until {LWINUP} is sent {RWINDOWN} Holds the right Windows key down until {RWINUP} is sent {ASC nnnn} Send the ALT+nnnn key combination {BROWSER_BACK} 2000/XP Only: Select the browser "back" button {BROWSER_FORWARD} 2000/XP Only: Select the browser "forward" button {BROWSER_REFRESH} 2000/XP Only: Select the browser "refresh" button {BROWSER_STOP} 2000/XP Only: Select the browser "stop" button {BROWSER_SEARCH} 2000/XP Only: Select the browser "search" button {BROWSER_FAVORITES} 2000/XP Only: Select the browser "favorites" button {BROWSER_HOME} 2000/XP Only: Launch the browser and go to the home page {VOLUME_MUTE} 2000/XP Only: Mute the volume {VOLUME_DOWN} 2000/XP Only: Reduce the volume {VOLUME_UP} 2000/XP Only: Increase the volume {MEDIA_NEXT} 2000/XP Only: Select next track in media player {MEDIA_PREV} 2000/XP Only: Select previous track in media player {MEDIA_STOP} 2000/XP Only: Stop media player {MEDIA_PLAY_PAUSE} 2000/XP Only: Play/pause media player {LAUNCH_MAIL} 2000/XP Only: Launch the email application {LAUNCH_MEDIA} 2000/XP Only: Launch media player {LAUNCH_APP1} 2000/XP Only: Launch user app1 {LAUNCH_APP2} 2000/XP Only: Launch user app2

  DVR surveillance cards

Is there a way for GBPVR to use dvr cards with the hardware H.264 compression feature? The major problem would be the audio input I guess.

Live TV Screen position - not centered?
Posted by: sbiddle - 2006-08-25, 05:47 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I seem to be having trouble with my Live TV screen not bening centered running on a GFX Ti4200 @ 1280@1024 on a 17" Philips LCD.

If I press the auto adjust button in Windows I get a prefectly centered screen in Windows and within the main GB-PVR screen. When I go into Live TV however the whole screen is slightly to the right, with a black border on the left hand side in both the picture and the OSD. If I press the auto adjust button this centers prefectly but if I then exit and go back to GB-PVR or Windows I'm missing around 4mm or so of my screen on the left hand side.

Is there some way to stop this from occuring?

  DVDRipper Plugin Help
Posted by: Tinker - 2006-08-24, 08:58 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (9)

I installed the DVDRipper Plugin and tried using it yesterday with mixed results. I have had DVD Decrypter installed for some time and I have used it may times to create ISO images of DVDs. It has always worked fine.

When I tried to use it with GBPVR/DVDRipper Plugin it started DVD Decrypter and GBPVR updates the screen to the screen that shows next and then DVD Decrypter shutsdown with no error messages and GBPVR goes back to the original DVDRipper screen asking me to start again. This all happens in about a one second period.

What logs are needed to see what is going on? I would love to post them.

Does DVD Decrypter need to have certain settings before this will work?

Any tips are welcome.

  time-shifting mode issues
Posted by: Orbital - 2006-08-24, 08:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have a Theater 550 card that works great with gb-pvr. however, I am having problems when I try to enable timeshifting. I can watch live tv, but when I attempt to go into time-shifting mode by hitting pause, I get the message that it is switching to time-shifting mode and pauses the screen. When I hit play it just goes back to the main menu with all the options such as Live TV, Recordings, etc...... Any ideas what's happen here.

I did go to the GB-PVR Main program folder and noticed I have no Live-tv buffer folder, do I need to create a folder or anything for it?

ATI 550 setup for maximum quality
Posted by: Jarobata - 2006-08-24, 08:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

All I want to do with my Powercolor Ati 550 is watch live tv. I have it working now but the quality is subpar. The image is grainy and blurry. Is there a way to setup GBPVR to display uncompressed television? Are there any key settings I should have for maximum quality? My computer should be able to handle anything, I have 2 gigs of memory and an opteron 144 running at 2.71 ghz. I've seen screenshots with this card and they are much better. I'm also having a problem where the show skips periodically. The audio also doesn't seem to be completely synced. I really appreciate the help, i've been at this for hours and I can't find the information I need.
