  Video Library Image Size/Layout
Posted by: scottiamit - 2006-08-01, 09:49 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi just wondering how to adjust the layout and size of the images when shown in the video library, they are not centered and too large, I manually resized a couple but no luck, Attached is a screenshot of how it looks. Not a major problem but it does bother me.

Thanks,
Scott.

HELP!!! GB-PVR crashes before I even get a chance to do anything!!!!!
Posted by: fraseyboy - 2006-08-01, 08:20 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Well, I recently migrated to GB-PVR from mediaportal, and I have to say that I LOVE IT! Its waay faster than Mediaportal, and theres a lot less lagg between when I click and when it does. But that was before it stuffed up....

It was all fine. I was mucking round with the settings, downloading some new skins and plugins ect. when suddenly, it stopped working! I think it was just after I installed Slimm GB-PVR. But anyway, now when I go into GB-PVR it just comes up with the windows error reporting thing and makes me quit... Very annoying. I tried reinstalling it and Slimm GB-PVR, and it still doesnt work!!!! I really want to use GB-PVR, but this annoying little bug is forcing me to migrate back to Mediaportal.

Can anyone help me get out of this dark dark hole?!?!?!?!?

EDIT: wait, I just moved all the config files away after uninstalling and it works.... Hmm... Oh well, forget it Tongue

  pci-e video card swap proposal
Posted by: daza67 - 2006-08-01, 05:48 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

I have a nice pci-e albatron nvidia based card surplus to my needs since upgrading to a 7600GT. It's heatpipe cooled and has component video out etc.

See here: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1729

Looking to swap this for a pci-e ATI based card of similar spec probably an x1600pro.

I have been an ati user in the past (agp 9600pro) and switched to nvidia mainly for purevideo support. In order to satisfy my curiosity I would like to take a look at more current ATI offerings.

There are probably ati users out there in a similar situation who would like to try nvidia.

Any takers ?

Daza

VMR Custom Renderer change in 0.97.13
Posted by: csy - 2006-08-01, 03:20 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi Sub,

Could you please expand on what this means from the 0.97.13 change log:

- Changed the way the VMR9 Custom renderer composites elements on the screen. This change was made as a work around for nvidia owners that used to get screen corruption when using hardware accelleration with most aspect ratios. Be sure to select the 'VMR9 Custom' renderer option if you need to use this. VRM7 and VMR9 renderers still have this problem and will require nvidia to fix.

I jumped to the conclusion that you intoduced YUV Mixing Mode on this render to overcome the Nvidia screen corruption problem, but I'm obviously wrong - as per another thread.

  dvd2mpg replacement or update??
Posted by: ggee - 2006-08-01, 03:10 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I have been battling with using VA to rip my dvds to mpg files so I can watch them on my MVP. But recently, dvds have been harder to decrypt and many now no longer can be decrypted by DVDDecryptor.

So I am looking for a replacement or update to the VA dvd2mpg plugin that still works. I would appreciate actual steps from someone that has actually got a dvd to rip that uses the new copyright stuff like ARccOS and such. I keep trying different tools, btu they are all complicated or I can't figure out the right sequence of applications to get a DVD converted to an MPEG2 file just like VA did. I do not want to transcode to AVI and anything else.

Thanks,
Greg

  Problem with Timeshift
Posted by: NByz - 2006-08-01, 02:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hey All

Running v0.97.13 with no plugins (except comskip). The only patch I've done has been replaceing the backendcommon.dll to fix the problem of being unable to delete failed recordings (which worked great).

I'm using a PVR150 in and Nvidia GEForce 6800 out on a Dell-Assembled PIII-1000mhz w/ 256 ram running winXP Pro.

When I first set up GBPVR, timeshift mode worked fine. After installing the geforce 6800 I was having a problem with the OSD being cut off on either side of the display (but the TV picture fit well), so I played around with the settings until I settled on VMR9. It worked well. It was from then on that every time I entered timeshift mode, the system would freeze up (no response to alt-ctrl-del either). I waited once for a good 40 minutes as I had dinner, and no response.

I assumed it was the switch to VMR9 that started causing the problems. But today I had some free time and tried each of the other ones, one at a time. They each caused the same problem. I noticed that if I started the task manager before entering timeshift mode, I could use it to kill the process. It also allowed me to get out and see that the .mpg in the /buffer/ dir was increasing at a rate of just under 500 kbps. It continued increasing even after killing GBPVR, so I assume it was the recording service that was still alive, but GBPVR.exe was dead.

I grabbed my .logs, though I wasn't sure which ones would apply. I think GBPVR.exe.log and GBPVR.exe-native.log are the only ones from the session in question... I'll send them all anyway.

Any ideas? Something to do with the card maybe?

  Some issues.
Posted by: Manoe - 2006-08-01, 01:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

In reference to post http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=18407

It appears that I have the same problem as he did. I tried to follow the same steps you told him to follow but for some reason I can only view channel 3 on my computer. The funny thing is that it is the channel we have to put the TV on for the cable to view. Strange thing is that right now I have it on my PC.

I wanted to first get it all working on my computer where I am comfortable before I hook it all up to the TV.

Now, I do have this split on the out of the cable box. One line comes to the PC and the other to the TV. I should still be able to watch a seperate channel than that of the TV in the other room correct?

What files do I need to include cfg wise to show you guys? I am a newb at this and I tried getting it running many months ago but became to frustrated. Then my wife and I had our first baby Smile I have a clean install and I am determined to get this sucker working.

Turning one remote into a universal one?
Posted by: tamzarian - 2006-08-01, 01:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Hi,

I am about to buy my second tuner card, but it is not the same as my first one (PVR150). The card I am buying is a Leadtek PVR2000 card, and I hear that it works pretty well. It is open box, so it doesn't come with a remote, and I wanted to know if I can somehow use the remote from my first card (Hauppauge PVR150) with my new card (Leadtek PVR2000). My PVR150 remote is the silver 45 button remote with an ir blaster, but it is not the MCE edition. Please keep in mind that I want to use the same remote for both cards.
