  Error 1935: Installation assembly error
Posted by: infernal_halo - 2006-07-31, 12:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I'm trying to install ( not upgrade) release 9713. I get an error that states:

Error 1935. An error occured during the installation of assembly.

It then gives a long error string that I can't decipher. Any one else have this problem or know how to fix it?

  Mobile Phone Connectivity
Posted by: ccsnet - 2006-07-30, 09:01 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Ok, first of all Sub if your intrested let me know... Zorro the developer only deals direct with Develpers now for a number of reasons.

http://www.phoco.net/

First a bit of back ground - the app was designed for use in CarPCs ( check my home page out for more ) and now supports loads inc WM2005 Smile ( I'm a beta tester ).

Although its a standalone giving full mobile phone connectivity inc hands free in the case of blue tooth it has a full SDK which has been used by a number of CarPC front ends ( a good link ).

What I am suggesting is you may want to look at the same - eg hand free confs when you walk in the room, display of whos calling your mobile, control or even sync of your address lists and even SMS texting all via GBPVR.

Here is a white paper on the remote interface but I'm sure some of the guys on mp3car ( the link above ) may be help full in sharing the coding side.

Quote:Feature list:
View the phone book from your mobile phone and have the numbers categorized as Mobile, Home, Work, Fax and Other
Dial numbers from the phone book
Dial numbers manually
Send, receive and read SMS (MS SAPI 5.1 required)
Notification on incoming calls (name, number and picture - if available)
Mobile phone battery status
Signal strengh status
Mute your Media Player on incoming calls (such as WMP, Winamp, FrodoPlayer, Meedio, iTunes )
Current network operator
More than 20 supported user interface languages
Selectable layouts and designs (skins)
Design your own skin (a WYSIWYG skin editor, VisualDesigner, is included)
Switch from day to night skin
Control PhoneControl.NET from your application (API)
View Contacts database from MS Outlook®
New! Import vCards from other applications
Import contacts from other applications in CSV format
Plugins for Meedio available
New! Create your own SMS templates
New! Supports WindowsMobile® PPC PhoneEdition
Note: features are available on most supported phones.

The following functions are available on SonyEricsson, Siemens or Motorola phones:

View "Missed calls", "Received calls", and "Dialled calls" phone books
Remote Control: control other applications on your PC from your mobile phone (configurable for mouse, keyboard and other functions)
Use your mobile phone as a Multi-Tap input device.
Enter the PIN information (for standalone GSM modules)

Whoch Media Player is recommended 9 or 10?
Posted by: DebbieGibson - 2006-07-30, 08:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I reinstalled fresh this weekend and the only issue I have is occasionally when I start a recording, the screen looks like a randomly colored blob. The sound is playing normally and the remote works, except it won’t stop the recording.

It looks like the media player is crashed. So it got me thinking about which Windows Media Player is recommended with 0.9713.

When it happens, I have to VNC into the box and end gbpvr, which is still running, not "Not responding"

Thanks.

  Long delay starting video
Posted by: dark_half - 2006-07-30, 08:48 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (10)

I have been using a nvidia 6200 without any major problems. I recently got an ATI X1300 http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/VGA/...13256DP-RH to replace it because of the know screen corruption problems when trying to change the aspect ratio. When using the nvidia card when I started tv (timeshift mode) or watch a recording the video took approximately 5 seconds to start. Using the X1300 it takes 15 seconds before playback starts. Does anyone have any ideas of would could cause this? I looked in the logs and compared it to the logs from the nvidia card and it appears to be the same and I do not see any errors except that the timestamps reflect the increased time before play back begins. I had to switch back to the nvidia because the wife was not pleased. You know it is funny the aspect problem really bugs me but not my wife and the opposite for the extra delay when starting playback. I guess I see who really runs the show aroud here.Wink I tried CCC6.1 and 6.6 but neither made a differnce.

To Batch File Or Not To Batch File - That Is The Question
Posted by: ccsnet - 2006-07-30, 08:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

EPG.... Got XMLTV working fine.. but a little confused after reading the manual etc.

The Update EPG button doesn't see to do any thing after its started ( apart from the box that appears... I'm going off network traffic ). I can't under stand how it works with XMLTV with out knowing where the exe is nor the config. So deduction comes to batch files ( which I can create ) but Sub says he does not like nor can I work out how the 'update EPG' function is sposed to be aware of the completetion of the batch file process even if I use the 'postepgupdate.bat'.....

Lastly I've got no idea how I assign images to said channels but I'll probably suss that when I have the above working.

Did any one follow that ?

Web UI not working since v0.97.13
Posted by: bigstusexy - 2006-07-30, 08:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Hello,

I've had a problem with the web interface not working since I've updated to v0.97.13

I may have seen this before but I'm not sure, I do remember sing it once and I restarted the recording service and then reconnected and it was fine.

Help?

Code:
Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Value cannot be null. Parameter name: String Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. I don't know which logs would be useful to attach.

  GBPVR Main Download Page
Posted by: markcronk - 2006-07-30, 07:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Went to check if there'd been a new release (I've been on travel), and the download page (http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR09612.msi) gives me a "Page cannot be found" error. While the URL tells me I'm up to date, just wondered if the page was temporarily down?

Thanks & keep up the good work!!!Smile

  changing FM channels via cmd?
Posted by: happyhammer - 2006-07-30, 07:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I'm hoping to use the FM on my PVR-500 card as the source input to my shoutcast application running on the same PC. I've got it so that if i run the gui application on the server PC(in the attic) and minimize it, it works to the point of changing channels. Is there a way to changre the FM channerls remotely?

I was thinking along the lines of sending a cmd.exe type of command to change the channels.

I know most channels are on the NET, but some are only mono and poor bitrates plus if you had it left on all the time, it would start eating into your broadband download allowance.

  Looking for good screenshots
Posted by: sub - 2006-07-30, 06:25 PM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (42)

I'm in the process of collecting together some content for a revamp of the www.gbpvr.com website pages. As part of this I want to update the screenshots, and wondered if you guys wanted to contribute screenshots that you think look good? They can be from any screen, built in or plugin, with any skin. Ideally a wide variety.

I'm looking for 'real world' screenshots, so things like pictures of the Recordings screen filled with recordings, Photo Library with real photos etc.

If you've got something post it! To make less work for me, ideally you could resize these to 350x260 before posting.

  Config Has Error on Launch
Posted by: wdwdisney - 2006-07-30, 05:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I get the following error when I try to run the latest version (0.97.13) of GB-PVR:

"Config.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are dorry for the inconvenience"

Any ideas? I had IE 7 Beta 3 installed and did uninstall it prior to installing GB-PVR. I also downloaded the .net package in the instructions. GB-PVR does launch, but I cannot get the config app to load.

Any ideas?

I am running Windows XP SP2 by the way...
