  Default recordings screen
Posted by: lopazopy - 2006-07-27, 02:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Right now when I go into the "Recordings" screen, the default view is the "Ready" screen. I'd like the default to be "Whats New" since that is where I go anyways. I've searched and searched the forum but came up with nothing. How can you change it? Thanks.

  Deframenting fixed a problem
Posted by: fla - 2006-07-27, 01:34 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Recently I was getting a new problem where gb-pvr would stop playing live tv and go black (whether in timeshift mode or not). It would always happen at the end of a show/the beginning of the next show. Usually at xx:00 or xx:30 since that's when most shows end/start.

After a defragmentation of the drive (only have one partition) the problem seems to have disappeared. Just thought I'd share the info in case someone else runs into the same issue. If the problem comes back, I'll also check the size of the database files to see if they have ballooned.

  theater listings help
Posted by: agidius - 2006-07-27, 12:59 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (20)

I was trying to play with the theater plugin.

I go to the wiki
it says "download the latest version"
it is a .zip file containing a .dll

there is also a fix file
I downloaded the one for the later versions.
it is a .zip file containing a .exe file.

instructions say to edit the .bat file.
where do I get the .bat file??
I didnt see it say I had to create it.

also, there wasnt a file to install it.
or do I manually add it as a plugin??

not sure what to do.

  Using Show Search with MVP
Posted by: jim08127 - 2006-07-27, 12:15 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I just installed Show Search yesterday its just the tool I was looking for.

I use the Hauppauge 45 key remote and an MVP. Only issue is I can't figure out how to control which letter is entered by the number keys on the remote. If I press the number 2 one time an "a" appears, but how do I get a b or c as the first letter in the search string? If I press the number 2 more than once it just adds additional characters to the string which may be an a or b or c. I must be missing something simple or the MVP is throwing a wrench into it somehow.

any help appreciated.

  Update EPG
Posted by: lonegeek - 2006-07-26, 09:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I removed some channels from the lineup in zap2it. How can I have the channels get updated in GBPVR, as far as removing channels. Empty EPG then reload it?

  Zap2it problem - 3 hours behind?
Posted by: GuidedByVoices - 2006-07-26, 09:11 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,
I'm just in the process of setting up GB-PVR (ie. I am a noob). I've signed up at labs.zap2it.com, but when I access the EPG in GB-PVR, the listings appear to be off by 3 hours. I.e. something that's in the EPG for 2pm actually starts at 5pm. If I go to http://www.zap2it.com and type in my postal code I do get the right listings. Anyone have any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.
Jay

Trnascode in video library doesn't seem to do anything.

It's not a feature I normally used but I recorded a few things in ms-dvr and wanted to convert to xvid but it doesn't seem to happen and a quick look at the log sees it start but then stop after about 30 secs.

S-Video to composite not looking so good
Posted by: WerewolfTA - 2006-07-26, 06:50 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

Hi. I got my PVR box up and working. Looks great on a monitor. However, my TV only has coax/RF and composite inputs. My nvida mx4400 only has DB-15 and s-video outputs. So, I got this s-video to RCA converter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002KR...09?ie=UTF8) because it was cheap and got good reviews, which produces a picture, but not a very good one. I spent an entire evening trying to dial-in a picture and eventually got a passable, though not great, one, using my TV as a secondary monitor. Then, I unplugged the monitor and pushed the PC into my entertainment center, only to see the TV become the primary monitor and all that tweaking out the window, a nice duh moment for me.

So, I could go back and spend hours working on the picture to get something that's only passable. Or I could get a more expensive cable or converter, but I wonder if I'm just wasting my time. Has anybody had any luck with this, or should I just wait until I can afford a new tv that has s-video in?

  Window won't take focus?
Posted by: tamzarian - 2006-07-26, 06:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi,

I have GBPVR setup to run when windows starts through the shell, and I noticed that GBPVR will startup OK, but the window won't take focus, so I can't use my remote to do anything!

I also would like to know if anyone has found a way to get Ir.exe to run when GBPVR starts up so I can actually use my remote. I tried using sscheduled tasks, but it didn't work. Maybe a registry edit would do it?

I am using the latest version of GBPVR with a PVR-150 and I don't have any plugins installed.
