This should be a rather easy question to answer, but I have spent at least an hour now going through the GB-PVR wiki and I can't find the proper solution.
I have a Happauge PVR150-MCE internal capture card in my box. I successfully set it up with the tv analog cable several months ago, and I have had zero trouble recording and watching shows.
Yesterday, I wanted to connect my camcorder to the 3 composite jacks on the tuner card in order to record old home movies and burn them onto dvd's. I realized that I didn't know how to tell GB-PVR to look at the camcorder jacks instead of the analog cable jack to do the recording.
For the life of me I can't figure out how to switch the source for the recording, or even just to be able to watch the input from the 3 composite jacks. I have included a screenshot of the settings I have for capture sources within the GB-PVR config.
I have two capture sources being used. One is my old one which works fine ( the analog jack ), the second is the new one I am trying to implement which is shown in the picture.
Any light people could shed on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I have just encountered a strange audio loss with GBPVR on the PC. There is no sound output for mpg's, LiveTV or Net Radio but sound is OK for mp3s and FM Radio. But all is OK via the MVP and via WMP.
I have restarted and turned off the PC with no result. I have checked the master volume settings. I can see no errors in the two logs written at the relevant time (attached). I haven't changed encoders in the config program.
I am running out of ideas so welcome some more thoughts.
A married man goes to confessional and tells the priest, "I had an affair with a woman - almost." The priest says, "What do you mean, 'almost'?"
The man says, "Well, we got undressed and rubbed together, but then I stopped."
The priest replies, "Rubbing together is the same as putting it in. You're not to go near that woman again. Now, say five Hail Mary's and put $50 in the poor box."
The man leaves confessional, goes over and says his prayers, then walks over to the poor box. He pauses for a moment and then starts to leave.
The priest, who was watching him, quickly runs over to him and says, "I saw that. You didn't put any money in the poor box!"
The man replied, "Well, Father, I rubbed up against it and you said it was the same as putting it in!"
As you see below, I've started with just the text output. I'll create a partially transparent layer in Photoshop Elements of this screen. Then I'll draw Plain Jane's eight different skins underneath the text layout.
While this technique is not recommended for the end user (see Appearance Manager), it is pretty convenient for a graphics artist (or posers, like me).
Any idea why all my recordings, using the default GBPVR Recordings applet, are created as read-only files on my XP machine? This seems to prevent GB from deleting recordings (e.g I config a reoccurring recording of a TV show, and set the "Keep" count to 15, yet more than 15 shows are kept).
I wanted to post a reminder to developers about some changes that occurred earlier this year.
A common cause of problems in GB-PVR is trying to use a plugin with a skin that does not explicitly provide support for that plugin. This problem occurs because the plugin is expecting to find its supporting skin files (skin.xml and image files etc), but they are not contained with in the active skin.
Early this year I made a change that will take advantage of the fact that all plugins support the default (blue) skin. Specifically, SkinHelper was changed to automatically fall back to using these resource files in the default skin if they’re not available in the active skin.
This change will only affect things explicitly defined in the plugin’s skin xml file(s). Things that are inherited from the BaseSkin.xml will continue to be loaded from the active skin. This means that buttons will still have the correct appearance for the current skin, and the background image will be correct.
To implement support for this functionality in your plugins, you need to use the correct constructor to SkinHelper. The older constructor to SkinHelper did not provide all the information that was be required to support this.
To use this new functionality, the plugin developer would create a SkinHelper instance using:
Behind the scenes the skin helper will determine the correct path and load the XML file. If the XML file cannot be found in the active skin directory, it’ll fall back to using the default one in the blue directory.
Having plugins support is becoming more important as we make an effort to clean up the skinning in GB-PVR. If you have plugins not currently doing this, please try to make this small change in the very near future.
i am hoping someone here has some advise or know how to fix this issue everytime i try to transcode a file the is over 1hr and 30min it the resulting avi is 1hr 27min and 53sec does anyone have any idea why it does this or how to fix it
Hi all
A dumb computer noob needs help installing comclean. According to instructions from this site I am supposed to add " Call Comclean %1 " to the postprocessing.bat file however whenever I click on the file it will not open. The file opens a window then it closes about a half second later. Also where do I put the " Call Comclean %1 " in the file. I am sorry if this is a stupid question.
Thank you for any help in advance.
I want to be able to watch one show while recording another (or record 2 shows simultaneously).
I'll obviously be using GBPVR... and I'll also have Girder software loaded on my HTPC.
One day I'd like to record in HD, though I know this isn't really possible right now. However, when I do get a TV Tuner card that will record HD for me, will I be able to just add it to my PC and then have extra tuners, or will I have to take out the old tuner?
I'm assuming the Hauppauge 500 is my best bet. Are there better options out there for me? I don't really know a lot about the differences between the 150, 250, 350, and 500.
