Watching Live Preview of DVB-T is flawless, but when I record the same show it drops frames very steadily. Usually I get around 5 secs skip free, and then it starts jumping every 2 or 3 seconds after that.
I'm using a Twinhan DVB-T 878, but I have a friend with an Aver DVB-T card who is having the same problem.
I've tried Twinhan drivers from 1.2.1.9 -> 1.2.3.8, but it makes no difference. I've also tried a couple of different cyberlink muxes, and tried recording using dvr-ms (it was less noticable, but still there)
I tried defraging the hard drive last night and tested it again this morning, but no luck.
I've attached logs in case it helps, but I'm out of ideas at the moment, so any suggestions are welcome
It used to be that ZoneAlarm identified GB-PVR by name in the programs list. However, the entries now show up as blank. Did the build metadata somehow change? I know there's usually a way to give a program a title or whatever.
Also, when you update the EPG from the tray app, the "updating epg" window stays on top and won't go behind other windows. It's also rather unresponsive (can't move it, etc).
Hi guys, new poster and user of GBPVR. From what I've seen so far, it's a great piece of software and an improvement over the Win TV bundled with my HVR-1100. I recently encoutered a pretty serious problem, however.
Using the TV guide, set a program to record. It seemed to start correctly and recorded for the correct period of time. About halfway through, i tried to watch in real-time - and got a black screen. I then left well alone until the recording had finished, only to find absolutely nothing. No recorded file in my output directory, and nothing in the "ready" section of GBPVR.
I wonder if this is related to the intermittent tuning problem I'm getting. When i first go to watch Live TV, things start up no problem. However, if i go back to the main menu in the software, then return to Live TV, I often get a 'no signal' message. Skipping a few channels ahead until signal returns, then back to the original - previously blank - channels sorts things.
Any ideas as to what this problem could be? Thanks in advance...
I'm sure it's something simple that I've missed. When using this setting it comes back with "cannot play back file". If in VMR9 it works fine. I've set it to custom renderer to try to solve the nvida problem aspect ratio change problem. Any ideas?
I've had a bash at designing a new website for GB-PVR. It has the same content as the current one but should look nicer. For sub's convenience, amending the download link takes the same amount of work as it does now as it is located in a single place.
It supports skinning and will remember your skin for return visits.
It works perfectly in Firefox. (It even supports the View->Page Style menu option which most people probably don't even realise what it is there for.)
It works perfectly when loaded locally on my machine in Internet Explorer 6.
There is an odd button rollover anomaly in Internet Explorer when loading the online version. If anyone else has this and know what's causing it (it's one of those problems that just suddenly appeared without me changing anything, all I did was upload it), please let me know.
It works in Opera but scrollbars appear on the Blue theme.
I am confident that using it in IE7b3 will cause dancing martians to boogie down the screen waving flags that the entire internet now needs to be rewritten by January 2007. I haven't tested this browser. Perhaps it's time to install that free Microsoft Virtual PC goodie I downloaded.
This is a toy project as I endeavour to increase my understanding of CSS but I thought the GB-PVR community might like to see it and comment on it.
Hilariously, I nearly forgot to put the link on the post. Fortunately, I did a preview post and noticed a distinct lack of blue underlined text. Anyways, here it is again (I've also put it up top): http://mrslimm.googlepages.com/gbpvrindex.htm
Anyone else have the problem that sometimes the comercials on tv are louder than the tv show. Does anyone have a plugin that would keep the volume constant? Or even make the comercials quieter so I could go get some food, and when the sound comes back I know the tv is back?
edit: can someone move this to plugins? I put it in the wrong forum
I have had my main pc running GBPVR for a couple months now and am very happy with it. I got my hands on a used PC that I could move my PVR-150 card to and use as a standalone PVR. The problem I have is the pc does not have an AGP slot. Does anyone have any recomendations for a PCI video card with either TV-out signal? Any difference noted between s-video and component output?
I'm planning to test a slightly unorthodox setup, and whilst i think it should work, i know there is a good knowledge base here and plenty that are far wiser than me!
I have a living room and study next to each other, separated by a partition wall. at the mo i have a gaming rig (Opteron 146 o/c 2.7ghz, 2GB ram and an AGP 6800GT 256mb gfx card) in the study and my htpc (Athlon XP 2500+ 1.5GB Ram, a Radeon 9200SE/GeForce 5900XT and 3 x Nova-T's) in the living room displayed on a 28" Toshiba SDTV.
Now the htpc is fairly unstable, and probably needs all its heatsinks checking etc. In addition my gaming rig is cooler, quieter and much more powerful and i want to use this for GBPVR and processing tasks etc, and do away with my difficult htpc motherboard etc. i dont want to lose access to my decent PC for online games though through a monitor.
What i thought i could do is combine the two, im pretty confident the pc can handle BF2 with plenty of memory and processor power to handle GBPVR and any other associated processes, have the pc in the study, using Nview have a dual monitor setup where the tv is the secondary display, and simply pass the s0video cable, the audio cable, ir reciver and an external USB DVD drive enclosure through the wall to sit with the TV.
The pc stays on 24/7 and is used to run GBPVR for the most part but allowing me to use the desktop as usual.
The only problems i can see doing this are:
cpu intensive tasks *might* cause a crash (ive had only 2 in the past three months that required a reboot, most just require explorer.exe restarting at worst)
Things opening on the TV rather than main display - Nview should manage that but i know diologue boxes etc can turn up in funny places on dual monitor setup.
P.S the two computers currently sit in adjacent corners between the two rooms so feeding cables through the wall isnt a problem. If it works i might install sockets on the wall for vid/audio and usb when i decorate.
So as usual, please feel free to point any glaring assumptions on my part!
Any suggestions welcome.
Is there any way to change the key mappings so they can adjust the master volume instead of the internal one. Changing the internal Volume has no effect over LiveTV in my case.
