  Volume adjustement
Posted by: onefunkyone - 2006-07-15, 09:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Is there a way to boost the volume (db gain or other means) ?

Windows volume is at max. Winamp is at max = Plays loud.
Windows volume is at max. GBPVR is at max = Cant hear much.

Thanks

Small bug in default Music Library in 97.13
Posted by: Hayden - 2006-07-15, 09:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Just noticed a small bug in the Music Library that comes with 97.13

If you choose to play tracks from the last track in a folder, it plays OK and drops into the GB-PVR screensaver.

If you choose to play tracks from the second last track in a folder, after the last track, the screen goes black (ie not the screensaver) and I don't seem to be able to wake it up. It's probably still on the visualisation screen, but it's blank because there is no more music.

Cheers,
Hayden

  MusicLibrary2 version 3.11
Posted by: psycik - 2006-07-15, 09:45 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

Hi this has been running since version 97.13 of GBPVR. Only update if you have moved to this version as there was a database change that stopped ML2 from working.

There is (and has been) a panel that can be used with ML2 - it DOES create errors in the config.exe.log but these do not affect anything, and do not cause any problems to the operation of gbpvr.

There is a readme.txt in the panels directory for activating it. Ml2Panel can also be specified as a screen saver.

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/MusicLibrary2

No database changes in this one so you DB should stay intact.

Still using SP1 with WinXP Pro
Posted by: xsilvergs - 2006-07-15, 09:26 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Can I install .NET V2.0 with SP1 on XP Pro?

I don't like SP2 as it causes me some problems so uninstalled it a long time ago but now don't know if I can install .NET V2.0. Any ideas as I'm still using GB-PVR v0.96.12?

  Timeshifting in 97.13
Posted by: jsteele - 2006-07-15, 09:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (29)

I've just upgraded to 97.13 and had occasion to try Timeshifting today. In the first instance I tried TS on an Ad Hoc basis and received an error message:

Error item has already been added. Key in dictionary: "[x=0 ...."

The logs from this are attached as:
"timeshift-dictionary-error-20060715.zip"

I then changed the configuration to start in TS mode. In this case the system ran in TS fine EXCEPT that every hour on the hour the audio/video freezes. It is not a terminal event in that several clicks of the Back/exit button will eventually return to the main menu and I can reselect LiveTV and continue. This problem is then repeated again every hour. The lofs for this are attached to the next Post in this thread

Who is stealing my mouse pointer?
Posted by: martint123 - 2006-07-15, 08:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I've just got back and upgraded to 97.13 yesterday. I've noticed this evening that if I have gbpvr open on the PC, not full screen (I do most of my pvr work via the MVP) that every 5 seconds my mouse cursor disappears. If I wiggle the mouse around the pointer appears in the top left of the gbpvr window and I can drag it back out again to another window. However, 5 seconds later it goes away again.
I currently have pending recordings for most of the next 12 hours, so can't restart the service or reboot to see if that sorts it out. Anyone come across anything similar?

cheers, Martin

update after a little testing. If I'm just at the menu with no video, then the mouse behaves. If I view a currently recording program the mouse gets stolen and if I exit watching the video then the mouse keeps getting stolen. Exit gbpvr and starting it again stops the mouse stealing until video is watched.

About recordings and other encoding tricks
Posted by: onefunkyone - 2006-07-15, 08:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I installed GBPVR yesterday. GREAT program. Much better then WinTV that came with my Hauppauge PVR150 (bought 3 days ago).

Please understand that I have zero knowledge of video encoding decoding etc. I don't even know what encoding does compare to decoding.

My question is, how do I setup gbpvr correctly and what are the codecs needed for recording / playback.

Can anyone either direct me to the right page on the wiki and / or explain to me what do I need in terms of codecs or players or what not.

Thank you in advance.

  My list of HD questions...
Posted by: lonegeek - 2006-07-15, 08:43 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (12)

How big is a 30 minute recording in mpeg 2 format?

Which is the best HD OTA card to get?

How can i set it to 720p or 1080i? Does that depend on my output resolution of my graphics card?

How fast of a cpu can record HD and display it good?

Will it still look fine on a SDTV?

Does it record AC3/Dolby audio?

Will a soundcard with dolby decode it and output to 5.1?

Will spdif decode ac3/dolby and output to 5.1?

More question to come?
