Sometimes I need to record 2 shows that are overlapping for 5 mins or so. This creates a conflict and has to be solved. The result is always that one or the other show can't be recorded.
I would like to see an option which detects the overlap, and offers a choice which recording to end earlier, or start later.
Example:
Show1 : 17:00-17:50
Show2 : 17:45-18:30
These are overlapping between 17:45 and 17:50.
Option1: record Show1 partial, stop at 17:45 and record show2 (complete)
Option2: record Show1 complete, stop at 17:50 and continue with show2 (partial)
It would be nice to see this addition in the conflict manager.
Update for Sub:
Currently, when shows are conflicting, you would have the option to cancel one of both shows. For above wish, there would be 2 more options: "Record show1, start show2 as show1 ends", and "record show1 until show2 starts, then record show2"
I have a Radeon X800 Pro in my main system and a Radeon 9800 Pro in my HTPC. Would switching the cards give me a better picture or am I wasting my time even thinking about this. BTW, I'm using a 32" SD Sony. Thanks for any suggestions. Any more info needed?
Hi all,
I have just taken delivery of a WinTV-HVR1300, and a MVP. The card is to g oin my loft server, and the MVP by the TV in the lounge.
I dont have a monitor connected to the server, and access it via VNC.
Do I have to tune channels etc using the WinTV application, or can everything be done via GBPVR using the MVP ? I dont want to have to bring the server into the house and hook it up if I can avoid it; and tuning via VNC would not be possible.
I use VA as my (only) access to recorded material due to large volumes spanned on several disks: c: d: e: f: g: i: (see signature below).
I sometimes manually reshuffle the whereabouts of files, including moving folders into some containing top level folders, like "Gardening" for all the wifes different gardening programs and "1-Magnus" for all the kids shows for my 3-year old. This to avoid too many entries in the first level. This has worked like a charm for a looooong time; VA autoscanning correctly at startup.
Problem: After the recent upgrade to .Net20 and GBPVR/VA upgrades to the versions supporting this, VA :
Fails to remove entries that has been moved elsewhere
Fails to properly report file sizes
Fails to rescan at startup (I know it's by design: wish: Option to autoscan)
What logs if any would you like to see to dig a little deeper into this?
hello i get an internal error 2908 message when i try to install the program it happens just as it starts to update component registration how do i bypass this error or fix it?
it would be nice if we would update to the latest version of the ADO.NET provider, as some bugs seem to be fixed. From the changelog:
Quote:
Code merge with SQLite 3.3.6
Added support for the |DataDirectory| keyword in the Data Source filename string.
Added hook notification support to SQLiteConnection. Specifically, there are three new events on the SQLiteConnection object which are raised when an update/insert/delete occurs and when transactions are committed and rolled back.
Changed SQLiteTransaction to default to BEGIN IMMEDIATE instead of just BEGIN, which solves a multithreaded race condition.
Changed SQLiteDataReader to better support SQLite's typelessness. The data reader no longer caches column affinity, but re-evaluates it for each column/row.
Fixed a bug in Prepare() which caused an intermittant fault due to the code accessing the memory of an unpinned variable.
Fixed a multithreaded lock-retry bug in in SQLiteConnection.Open() and in SQLiteTransaction, which failed to use a command timeout before giving up.
I have installed the latest version of GB-PVR (which I think is the tops; if I could get this figured out  ).
The issue only seems to happen if the PC wakes from S3 hibernate (I think??). The 4 second attached .avi explains it better than I could -the title says it all. I have also included any logs I found relating to the capture. If I have missed anything, please let me know. Thanks. I would love to get this sorted.
Is there any possibly of a conflict with WinTV2000? No, it was not going at the time. As were no other apps except the basic behind the scenes ones.
i just got a haupage pvr-150 and originally used the demo of sagetv until it expired. i loved that program but currently dont have 50 bucks to plop down on a program like that.
now im using gbpvr, or more accurately, trying to use it.
i downloaded the tvguide, but i must have set it up wrong.
-i cannot watch live tv. when i click a program, it freezes and when i look in task manager it takes a HUGE ammount of memory usage.
-when i record a program it ends up with a file size of 0 byes and wont play back. even when ive left the program up and running (the program itself goes into a hibernate or sorts, maybe thats the problem.)
-when i try to close the window, it freezes too.
so all and all, i have the program, but dont know how to use it. can anybody provide any help with my failures?
I decided that I'm looking for a Dual Tuner for my new PC setup. I was looking at the Hauppauge WinTV 500, but was wondering if anyone thought this was a solid card to go with or if they would reccomend something else instead. I also saw NVidia DualTV. I do not have Windows Media Center edition and was looking to just get a PVR program such as GB-PVR or SageTV, and wondered if these would work with that and which one you would reccomend.
I'm looking to order it within the next day or 2, so any input at all would be appreciated.
Also I'm not sure or not if that comes with a remote. According to what I have read it does not look like it does. If it doesn't, could someone by chance reccomend one to get since I will be using this as a PVR that would work well? I was looking for something that would work with GBPVR, which I am definitely interested in trying first, and if it does not work well, then maybe SageTV
