I've been looking at GBPVR recently, and am pretty impressed. I do though, have a Terratec Cinergy 2400DT which has been causing some issues (I'm sure others can relate to this). I'm running the latest (beta) .255 drivers which detect all the functions of the card correctly (bridge, tuner and capture)
Basically, the main issue is it won't detect any channels on a scan. I've configured both tuners in GBPVR as capture sources, and set the correct DVB-T transmitter (Hannington, Southern England), but scanning with either tuner finds nothing.
I've tried various mediacenter apps now, and discovered the following;
1. Terratec Home Cinema. Detects all channels fine, good stable picture. No jumps or skips, but tuner scan sensitivity has to be set to 'fine'. This app is good for diags, but not what I would call a 'mediacenter'
2. WinXPMCE. Polished front end. Easy to use. Channel scan detects masses of frequencies (800+). A large amount are -1Mhz off the true channel centre frequency. Sorting all this out is a pain in the a*se, as you have to re-order all the channels, then link the EPG to each channel. Takes ages. Picture is good, but stutters and breaks up on certain muxes making it unwatchable. MCE does not seem very good with DVB-T
3. Media Portal. Good design, but needs more work. Channel scan detects all channels ok, but stability of package comes into question (had a few crashes).
4. GBPVR. Looks good. Stable so far, and excellent DVB-T support, but will not detect ANY channels on a channel scan. The Terratec 2400 is on the certified adapter list, so someone must have it working. I've tried re-registering the files, changing DVB scan type etc (all the usual methods) but nothing gives. Am I missing something here? Other people seem to be having similar issues. Has anyone got to the bottom of the problem?
If anyone has got the card working on Hannington, do you have scan cache files I can look at?
I have problem with TV card Pinnacle PCTV rave (synA/V ) ,use driver PinnaclePCTV WDM Update550 + Win DVR3,
Record by Win DVR3,WM marker, amcap (Mpeg) picture is faster than sound 10-30seconds,I try BTWDM Video/Audio drivers and Morgan M-JPEG codec V3 then color of picture isn't correct, I try Gbpv but picture is faster than sound 30-60seconds.how i can solve this problem ???

- since I last logged in. Hope everyone is doing okay(?). I'm scared to check how many new posts there have been, because I know there will have been loads and I want to read them all - but we've been busy moving house (I don't want to do that again in a hurry).
I've just finished running Cat5e throughout the house so the network is ready to go (the server is in the garage, without aircon, so I'm a little concerned about the Carolina summer heat, but we'll see what happens), but at least I can get my GBPVR in all rooms. Talk about missing something that has become part of your life!!!
We are off to the UK on thursday on vacation for a couple of weeks - look up friends and family, spend time in the pub, fish and chips, aaah - so I'll be checking in again sometime in July, but in the meantime I just wanted to say Hi to everyone and - on behalf of me and my boy - ENGLAND FTW!!!!
If I rework my SuDoku plugin with VS .NET 2005 and .NET v2.0 will it still work on the older GB-PVR versions pre-0.97.x (assuming people alse have the .NET v2.0 framework of course)?
Some people are still using older GB-PVR versions so I don't want to break things.
I'm attempting to fine tune the performance of my PVR and I was wondering if placing the Live TV buffer folder on a separate physical drive from the recordings folder would improve anything. Has anyone noticed any significant performance differences with this configuration?
Also, does anyone know if in-progress recordings utilize the Live TV buffer as a temporary storage location before being written to disk?
Recently I started to loose the recorded programs. This does not happen every time but more than half. Whether it's a manual recording or pre set recording. The file is being captured as I can see the file size increase. Then, after the post processing file kicks in, I can see the VPrj file being made and VideoReDo doing it's work but then, both files disappear.
I did update to VideoReDo Plus 2.2 from 2.1 and I guess something about is not ok but I can't figure out what it is or how to tell what the new version may be doing.
I appreciate your suggestions.
I installed gb-pvr to e:\progra.... ( windows was booting from e:\), and everything was working like a charm. Later I removed my C:\ disk, but then I realized that the file zap2it.xml was stored in c:\ (looks like the default is c:\zap2it.xml).
Is there a way to reconfigure gbpvr to store this file in some other directory, and NOT C:\zap2it.xml?
A recording I had scheduled for this morning at 7:00AM did not record. The Pending screen still shows it (it's now 5:30PM). I looked at the logs but only one of them has any entries for today...GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log...and its timestamp is 1:02AM today. I looked in it and found the following:

I have it set to start conversions at 1:00AM so I assume that's what triggered the errors. There were three files scheduled for conversion and none of them were converted.
I had restarted the recording service last night at 7:11 as indicated in the log and watched several recorded shows after that. The three recordings that were scheduled for conversion were all recorded between 9:00PM and 11:00PM.
My guess is that the database being locked is why the one scheduled for this morning was not recorded but there are no other entires in any of the log files for today.
Any idea why the database would be locked?
It just occurred to me that I have the epg update (zap2it) set to run at 7:00AM. Would that prevent the recording from being made?
Hmmm...doesn't look like the epg has been updated either...timestamp on the zap2it.xml file is 7:11AM on 6/25...???
