I just tried gbmvp.bin for the first time without success. After cycling the AC power to the MVP, it booted successfully, and showed my top-level menu correctly. My top-level menu has { TV, Music, Weather, Theater } TV and Music both point to sub-menus, whereas Weather and Theater both invoke those plugins directly.
If at the top-level menu I select Weather or Theater, all is fine. If, however, I select either TV or Music (i.e., the pointers to sub-menus) then the following happens:

1. A translucent screen of yellow starts to overlay the top-level menu screen. It starts from the top of the screen and expands downward until it covers perhaps 1/5 of the screen. This takes a fraction of a second.
2. Immediately thereafter, the MVP restarts. (I.e., it goes to a black screen, then shows the 4 white boxes, etc., then eventually presents the top-level menu again.)

I know this probably has been brought up before but anyway..here goes.....

I have a media pc (windows 2000 server) with 2 pvr 150's, media mvp, and gb-pvr (recently downloaded). I am not having problems with system at all. Everything works great and I am completely pleased with it.

Yet, this is what I would like to do. I would like to access my media pc from outside my home. I have a linksys router over COX Cable. I have multiple workstations, all windows pc's and networked print server. I use DHCP on the work stations and NAT on the router. I have read where this is possible. I just can't seen to get it to work yet. My COX IP seems to be static and does not seem to change. I have opened up my WAN config on the router. But I still have not had any luck?

Does anyone have some expertise with this? I can really use your help? Thanks!

When I select Xrecord (XGuide) menu from the GBPVR menu I get an error screen:

The tyep initializer for 'zapmetadata.DatabaseHelper' threw an exception.

I'm configured to use SQLite. zapimport runs without errors.

??? Help will be appreciated.

cant get this to work. it works on the PC but i cant get it to stream to the MVP. i must be doing something wrong.

when i select a channel in the tv guide, the recoding icon becomes active but no stream on the MVP and it just hangs there. I'm using the supplied channel list and testing on a VLC station "Kulaks Woodshed" as this seems to work fine on the PC. and using the recommended settings:

In getting things set up recently I've been updating the EPG while I'm awake and watching and I wonder if there is a problem, or at least gross inefficiency, in the way ZapImport is working.

I've configured it to use SQLite and to re-use the zapdata.xml fetched by GBPVR's EPG update. In one run the ZapImport log file says "Total loaded" records was 8654. The zapdata.xml file was about about 20 MB, and the final zapimport.db3 was less than 7 MB.

YET, I watched zapimport's memory usage rise to about 325 MB, took 9 minutes 54 seconds to complete (with nothing else going on in the machine), and for most of that time took in the range of 80-99% of the CPU.

Is this as it should be?

I'm rather new to all this, but I have been reading on the forums for a few days but currently getting no-where.:eek:

I have purchased a Hauppage PVR-350 and installed it, I used the pvr_1.18.21.22254_inf.zip drivers from SHSpvr.com (I think they are the correct drivers) When I goto the auto tuner it picks up channels and if I use WinTV2000 I can view channels so I know the card works but when I go into GBPVR and click live view, or pick a channel from the TV listings I just get the error message "Video is playing back via TV out press home to exit" and a black screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am using 97.09 with my MVP setup wirelessly. I am having problems playing divx/xvids. If I just let them play, they are fine, but the minute I start to fast forward or skip it's pot luck as to what's going to happen. SOmetimes they just freeze, other times it will fast forward for a while then go back to the GBPVR program. Other times it will just go back to GBPVR straight away. I am sure in older versions it used to work fine.
Also, how do I increase the skip time to say 10 mins. I would like to do this with divx as the fast forward times are quite slow.

The local Public Radio station also has a streaming audio link to their programming on their website.

After doing my homework, it looks like the combination of UbuStream and XRecord can be used to record this stream. Am I correct?

Next part of the question -- is there an available option to schedule the stream recording?

I've just upgraded to 97.9. Heretofore I had a language.txt file which translated some menu words. E.g., it translated "XSearch" to "Search Guide".
In 97.9, the language.txt file disappeared. I re-created it, ran Config, and it disappeared again.
How do things work now? What do I need to create so that the language is English, but I can describe certain word/phrase substitutions?
