Priority Recordings in the GBPVR Base System
Posted by: jksmurf - 2006-06-28, 12:52 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (13)

Following on from this thread http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=5, and only having one tuner (with more unlikely anytime soon) I would like to see Priority Recordings (currently a plugin) incorporated into the GBPVR base system.

Cheers,
k.

Newbie asking how to set up system concept
Posted by: danoid - 2006-06-28, 12:49 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hello all,

Another newbie asking questions…

What I have:
HP ZV5160US laptop, 2.2GHz Intel, 1152 MB ram, ATI Mobility Radeon 9100 IGP AGP w/ 128 (shared) MB ram, 802.11g wireless, 60 GB hard drive, WinXP Pro.
Homebuild desktop, AMD 2.0 GHz oc’d to 2.22, 1056 MB Ram, DVD burner, over 500 GB disk space, WinXP Pro.
Dlink DI624 router.
NetGear SC101 Storage Central w/ (1) 300 GB drive.
Sony SAT-A50 DirecTV receiver.
USB -> RS-232 converter.

Tests I have completed successfully:
Control of DirecTV receiver through laptop / DirecTV Control V 1.82.
Playback of DVD video across wireless off of SC101 through laptop / TV.

Things I know I need:
USB or PCMCIA tuner/video recorder – looking at Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB2

What I want to do:
Record off of DirecTV, analyze & remove commercials, and archive on SC101 network storage, play back same through laptop.
Play back ripped DVD’s off of SC101 through laptop.
Ripping/burning has to be done on the desktop, video analysis on either.

Three questions:

One – what more hardware / software do I need that I don’t know about? I haven't downloaded the main program yet, I want to have the pieces in place before I start.

Two – what problems am I likely to run into?

Three – are my expectations unreasonable?

Partially broken Theater 550 Pro support with new ATI drivers
Posted by: jamesb - 2006-06-27, 11:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

If you go to ATI's website, they have new drivers that break the live preview function (encoder bypassing) of GBPVR. As far as I can tell everything works but this. It seems they have just changed a couple of pins around, as I was able to make a working graph for it.

There were some Video Renderers that would cause it to stutter every minute or so with the new drivers, but certain renderers would work fine. I cannot tell you which ones as they all say "Video Renderer", but I do know the renderer with 2 input pins stuttured while the two renderers with one pin were fine.

Hope this helps, as I by pass the encoder for playing console video games, and the new drivers seem to be an improvement in other areas to my eyes.

By the way, the new driver is version 6.14.10.173 and is also for the Theater 650 PRO. I know you cannot release a new version overnight, but if you happen to come up with a temporary fix before too long, that would be cool.

Thanks

  Thank You SUB!
Posted by: User - 2006-06-27, 09:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Sub,
I just want to give you a big THANK YOU for GBPVR and the latest patches which have resolved many issues for me, especially the SQlite / large database issue. I realize switching databases is a huge leap for GBPVR and I expected some teathing issues, you are addressing them very well.

  Changing channel MVP/IR200L/DirecTV
Posted by: anedjf - 2006-06-27, 05:23 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - No Replies

This is strange. I'm running 97.09 GBPVR.

I have an MVP, a IR200L Blaster, and a DirecTV D10 reciever.

I can't seem to change channel using the number keys on the remote.

pre-scheduled recordings work right, also during live tv, if I go to the TV Guide, select a program, then click "Watch", it changes channel just right, however, during Live TV, I can not change channel (use number buttons on remote), it changes to the wrong channel.

Any thoughts?

ANEDJF

start TV-set via hauppauge remote blaster?
Posted by: Koenie - 2006-06-27, 05:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Not sure whether I dont know how to set it up or it might be a feature request:

The only purpose I use the remote of my TV-set for is to start and stop it. Can a button on the remote (hauppauge in my case, the green power button or home button) be programmed to start and stop the TV-set via the remote blaster?

  ZapImport fails (manifest discrepancy?)
Posted by: BobAtTorrey - 2006-06-27, 04:51 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

[EDIT: I can't explain this, because I believe I've changed nothing since, but yesterday zapimport consistently failed, as described below, but today it works. So please ignore this post.]
I just installed gbpvr .97.9, and converted to SQLite. Seemed to go OK.

I then used ZapConvert, per the instructions, in a separate directory. It ran without error, and I copied the resulting .db3 file into the gbpvr directory. Then I extracted the new ZapTools into the gbpvr directory, and tried to run ZapImport. It bombs with an unhandled FileLoadException. It complains that: "The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference". Makes me think I've somehow got this mis-installed, but I followed the instructions as I understood them. Please help !?!?

Here is the error text:

Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib, Version=0.84.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=1b03e6acf1164f73' or one of its dependencies.   Error rendering OSD: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Posted by: OlafS - 2006-06-27, 03:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Any idea where this error comes from (see logs)?

I am running 97.9 and the error including recording service crash emerges nearly always when I close gbpvr.

thanks.
