I have 97.9 installed. Try to play back a recorded show. As soon as I select playback, gbpvr throws an exception. Debugging this in vs2005 shows the following error:
+ $exception {"Method not found: 'GBPVR.Backend.Common.ScheduleHelper GBPVR.Backend.Common.ScheduleHelper.getInstance()'."} System.Exception {System.MissingMethodException}
The logs don't show anything obvious but I can reproduce this at will so if you need them, let me know.
Thanks,
Greg.
I've never used it before, but I seem to recall that you can confure the conversion to take place immediately? The start time in the config appears to be disabled. Does conversion now start immediately by default?
Beta (Alfa?) testers needed! Got my first working version of my remote plugin.
What is it? it's a plugin to control some basic playback options of GB over a TCP connection.
It uses a very dumb (and may changed soon) protocol. It's so simple you can just telnet to the GB machine (default port 1234) and type "pause" and it will pause, "play" and it will resume, "prev", "next", "stop", "volup", "voldown", "chup", "chdown". New-line sends the command.
Also, on the recieving stream, the plugin will send you the current playing track/channel, and status (pause, etc.). This is done asynchronously.
As a bonus, I included an option to send a messege to the GB GUI. This means an application can use the TCP connection to pause the playback and display a message on screen (pause; "Alarm - door is open"), for home automation, baby monitoring, etc.
Bonus2 - I wrote a small client that operates these TCP commands. It looks like a primitive WinAmp. My GUI abilities are a bit (a lot) rusty, so it's not good looking. I made my best to separate the GUI part and the comm part, so someone can maybe write a nicer looking form for it (C# app).
Interested? Interested in helping me? PM me and I'll send you. No easy install yet or anything...
It seems as though this summer, ABC will be reairing LOST Season 2, and I've been tivoing all the episodes so far. Meanwhile I'm watching Season 1 on DVD with my family (I've seen the whole show, my family is just starting now). Anyway, I'd like to get the Season 2 episodes off the TiVo (because ~25 episodes is a big space requirement) so that my family and I can watch them after we finish Season 1 (and without having to wait for the real DVD's which come out like a week before Season 3 starts). I have a Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 capture card. I'm aware I could use that to tape, but don't feel like redoing all the settings while I'm home for the summer (because I use it at school). So can I use the Hauppauge card to transfer taped shows from the Tivo to the hard drive? Thanks.
I have two error's with Video Archive (Newest version from the wiki) and GB 97.9
1.
Trying to rip a dvd crashes gbpvr.exe at the point were it tries to mux it together. The mplex.exe routine will continue after gbpvr.exe crashes. I'm not sure what logs to include with this error.
2.
Non of the video's in the DVD folder I've setup are showing up and when I went in the the ArchiveDB-MVp.log I found this:
System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key, or relationship. Change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate data, remove the index, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again.

Background: On upgrading to 97.9 everything worked fine for a few weeks. (Using Cyberlink MUX) Then last week I developed a problem with my recorded video becoming jumpy and way out of sync, and freezing. Reboot seemed to fix it. Then it suddenly happened again. I thought I would change MUX. It seemed like a possible culprit. So I switched to DVR-MS and lost my OSD only during playback or timeshift. Live TV is fine. Changed back to Cyberlink and the OSD came back. I can't believe this are linked. No logs just yet as at work. QUESTIONS: - Any thoughts on why recording behaviour might suddenly change. (I don't touch this machine it is a dedicated PVR) - Could MUX possibly affect playback OSD?
I am having problems with audio video sync when I fast forward, skip, or resume a mpeg file. I do not do any playing from my console so this is happening on my mvp's. The mpeg files are ripped dvd's. I have tried using retime, and transcoding the file through vlc to try to fix the timing problem. The same effect on the files created by both programs. The odd thing is that if just let the file play or just pause it everything works perfectly.
Any ideas how to resolve this would be greately appreciated.
I am having trouble getting GBPVR working stably. Hauppauge HVR110 and windows XP Home (MCE version but not using MCE). MCE and Hauppauge WinTV both work fine on card and GBPVR eventually works after several restarts but after changing channels a few time then either the picture goes black or locks on a particular channel although the soundtrack continues to move up and down channels on command (mouse or remote control). I have removed and reinstalled several times. 500Mb RAM, 160Gb disk, 3G pentium 4Please advise how to diagnose and fix,
Just started using this last week and am noticing a video stuter on live tv. Audio is fine. also recored show are fine. have attached log file . any suggestions?
