I have spent the last countless hours trying to get the "display on second monitor" option work as I had it on 0.96 of GBPVR to no avail, I have searched the forums as best as I can to see if others have reported a problem with no luck.
So my question is do others have it working on the second display (TV) while still able to use their monitor for normal PC activities?
As eluded to in another thread... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post120739
A way to use your MCE blaster with either driver, and learn the remote codes of almost any remote... UPDATED: Now with multiple remote support!
And also faster!
WIN7/Vista users: Must use alternate driver.
[almost as fast as hip and my net2hipsend]
note: keep the button presses short as possible for a learn, as they will take that long to play back..and you want quick channel changes, right?
it's an autoit3 script so decompile and modify to your heart's content!
works great for me
updated to be faster now, everything's included.. UPDATED: Now with multiple remote support!
And also faster, just combines the files into 1 and blasts 1 file instead of 1 for each digit...
any length ch# can be used...1-9 digits or more..
__________________________________________________________________________ To Use:
Unpack all files to a dir, run learn-digits.bat to learn stb digits.
Then run config.exe and select ".exe channel changer" and browse to mceblast.exe for exe and set "{channel}" for params. [if only 1 stb used]
[INDENT]Syntax:
MCEblast.exe ### remoteindex-[optional]
##= channel#, remote index is 'a' if not specified..[creates a.# files][/INDENT]
Also included a batch file to help learn ir cmds..
It does not busy out the hardware, so other remote programs can be used at same time..
Disclaimer -- this is my first real plugin -- please be gentile! :p
I've put together a very basic sports scores plug-in (mostly as a proof of concept) and am making it available for download. Note that this is very much version 1.0, so don't expect a whole lot.
Details:
-> Has been compiled against .NET 2.0, so only GB-PVR 97.9 and up is supported.
-> Will display current scores of Major League Baseball, NHL, and the World Cup
-> Grabs an HTML page from cbs.sportsline.com and parses it for display.
-> Features a manual refresh button to update the scores.
Installation instructions:
-> Download the attached zip file and extract in your devnz directory (no fancy installer)
-> Make sure you have GbpvrUiElements installed.
-> Activate the plugin via the config app. Choose which leagues you would like to view, specify your favorite teams (which will always appear on top), and indicate whether you would like the ticker to be defautled on or off as well as the time interval between score updates. NOTE: To enable the ticker, you MUST manually edit the config.xml file like so:
Code:
<VideoPlugin4>Sports Scores</VideoPlugin4>
Use any available number -- not necessarily #4.
Future considerations:
-> Go back and view results of previous days as well as future matchups. (done -- 1.2)
-> Provide data for more sports (duh!)
-> Enable a configurable automatic refresh (ticker automatically refreshes in 1.4.)
-> Configure which leagues you are interested in (also for turning off leagues in the off-season) (done -- 1.3)
-> Select a game to view the details
-> Ticker to display scores while watching a program (done -- 1.4)
-> Specify favorite teams to always display those on top (Regular expression?) (done -- 1.3)
1.1:
-> Correctly displays information for games that are not yet underway for MLB and WorldCup.
1.2:
-> Correctly displays information for games that are not yet underway for NHL.
-> Use the yellow and blue buttons to view previous and future dates. Use the red button to view today's scores.
-> Fix bug in MLB part of skin where it had the team data associated with the wrong team.
1.3:
-> Specify which sports to view via the config app
-> Refactored code for easy exapansion
-> Specify favorite teams which will always be displayed on top of the list (Supports regular expressions)
1.4:
-> Ticker can now popup latest scores on-screen while watching a video/program. Ticker intervals are configured via the config app, and can be enabled/disabled on-screen though the plug-in screen.
-> Fixed a bug with the refresh button where you could no longer control the plugin via the remote when it was selected.
1.5 (in testing):
-> Added Tennis Support -- tennis does not work with ticker yet
-> Improved support for tennis matches in progress.
-> Advanced ticker support -- now you can show only your favorite teams on the ticker.
-> Added CFL Support -- check it out, eh?
I have about a week's worth of music up on mp3tunes.com. They have plugins for winamp and for itunes, and I would love to be able to use GBPVR to access all my music on mp3tunes.com
I know some people are going to think I have been hitting the sauce, but there is one show that I record that consistently will not play on the MVP. "Pet-keeping With Mark Moronne" which airs at 7:30 am Eastern on Saturdays on our local Fox station is the culprit. It used to play fine, perhaps two months ago or so. I don't have any old recordings to check with the present version.
I have no problem playing any other recordings and I have even tried recordings in that same time-slot and channel on different days and they play fine. I have tried re-encoding the show with two different programs and they still will not play. My wife tried watching today with Live TV and it did exactly the same thing.
The show plays with video players on the PC. I've not tried playing it on the PC with GVPVR, as I get an error for all files playing locally and have not bothered to try to fix it since I never watch with anything but the MVPs.
The only explanation I can come up with is that the broadcaster is doing something funky with that show that the MVP does not like, but I have no idea what it could be.
I am trying to get my MCE remote to work, but have come across several problems. I have a Hauppauge 350 card, and am using a digital converter box as an external tuner.
The first and most annoying problem I have is, GBPVR is not sending anything to the IR blaster that came with my MCE remote. I have the Channel Changer set to MCE Blaster. I know the blaster is working because I can send signals to it using HIP. Why would GBPVR not be able to use the IR Blaster, even after I specify the channel changer to use it?
I have my Source set as "Fixed-channel, External-tuner". And the fixed channel is set at 3. Now the strange thing is, I get a signal only when I set the GBPVR channel to 3. When I push channel up or down, I get no video/audio. It's almost as though GBPVR is using the Internal Tuner to change its internal channel when I push the channel up or down on my MCE remote.

It would be helpful if there could be an icon or text displayed on the main menu when the recording service is not running.
Today, I tried to access EWA and could not connect. I found that the recording service was not running. Upon restarting, EWA started working again. I could have also discovered this by going into live tv mode.
While the recording service should always be running, on occasion I have had it die. I know that this is usually a sign that something is wrong, but it would be nice to be alerted visually when the RS is not running. While I do use GBPvr daily, several days may go by before I use watch live tv. I do have programs scheduled to record almost every day.
Is there someone here that is in the US, has a confirmed paypal address, and could help me out with a purchase?
I've got a US$230 item I'd like to buy off ebay, but the seller will only send to a 'confirmed' address. Unfortunately you have to be in the US to a confirmed address status on your paypal account.
I'm happy to paypal the full cost in advance - so that you can buy the item, have it shipped to yourself, then send it off to me in New Zealand.
If you can help out, please PM me. For peace of mind, I'd prefer one of the "regulars" on the GB-PVR forums.
