When putting up the new versions, it may be worth mentioning if it only works w/ 97.7+, or if it works w/ prior releases, too.
I still use 96.08 (for the moment...waiting on a cpl of plugins), I know I have run into a cpl of plugin updates that didn't say one way or the other and caused problems.
I'm not posting this a complaint. I had backed up before trying, knowing this may be the case. I think there may be some folks who don't and run into trouble. At the very least, it will save from having to answer this question in a post.
I am using the latest 97.9 and am having problems with scanning of Dvico and Twinhan card.
It appears the first time I scan everything seems OK however when assigning channels things start going wrong.
Once problem is that I get is an intermitent application crash message when attempting to assign channels.
The other problem is when I attempt to go back to scan page a second time and then pressing the map digital channels to EPG channels button I get the following error. "GB-PVGR is unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly and not already in use" I have found that I can get around this issue by deleting the SCAN-x.cache file in the DVB-T directory and trying again.
Is this a problem with the card itself, the Hauppage drivers, or just the combination of gbpvr and the card? Is this current, or has the statement just been leftover from some previously solved issue? I tried the "check forums" link, but its broken.
Would I be better off getting a PVR150 and a seperate TV-out card (like the Geforce FX 5200)?
I figured my post was lost in the flurry of activity since the release of 97.9, so i thought I'd post it over here instead.
I'm at a loss about what to do with the bouncing MVP logo coming back in this version. I've upgraded to version 3.0.24088. Still no luck getting the Screen saver to shut off. Looking at the settings in the MVP software and the resulting data file it should be off and in the MVP application it is. As soon as I shut down Happ services and bring GBpvr back up I get the bouncing Media MVP screen saver 60 seconds later. Even if i go in and set it to start at 90000 seconds (15minutes) it makes no difference 60 seconds and it's back. I have the entry that used to work to stop this in my config xml file.
Sub, or anyone for that matter have any idea how to get rid of the Happ bouncing logo? I'm not sure what else i can try beyond going back to the 96.xx versions and i hate to do that now that I've made the move and gotten everything but this to work.
Being desperate here I'll try anything! This drives both my wife and myself absolutely crazy.
V0.97.7 installed, when trying to select either VMR7 or VMR9 in the config after closing then loading it comes up with an error saying "Thsi system doesn’t appear to support VRMx, try a different renderer", where "x" is 7 or 9 as selected.
Now i have tested my system with the Microsoft DCT2 (there official application that can test stuff like Direct X and VRM this is way more powerful than the free DXDIAG program).
Mine passed all tests except the VRM9 FULL screen stuff so VRM7 is confirmed working, so why is it GBPVR seems to think its NOT working???
DCT is a free download but took a goo hour to run ALL the tests and was interactive as well.
Am trying to scan for channels on the ntl ex c&w cable with my firedtv without success. I have edited the ini file to correspond with my base rate symnol rate and qam settings but the scan never finds a single channel.
have searched on here and tried almost everything I can think of any ehlp please..
I suspect the attached logs may not be too helpful, but basically a recording on my Twinhan dvb-s card stopped earlier tonight than it was supposed to, although the recording service seemed to indicate that it hadn't stopped at all.
To be specific, my wife had set "The Apprentice" up to record, which it duly started to do at around 7.29pm, but rather than record the entire two-hour season finale, it recorded only the first 41 1/2 minutes of it. When she went to watch it and spotted that she had reached the end of the recording half-way through, I saw that the gb-pvr icon was still green, and that on checking the recording status, gb-pvr stated that the dvb source was still recording the program (I have both a pvr-150 and a dvb source). Restarting the recording service resulted in the dvb card now being reported as sleeping, but did not of course produce an extra hour or so of the program .
I am running the latest 97.9 version, but have had sporadic occurances of something similar with previous versions - ie the dvb source's status still being in record mode even though the official record time should have ended. The logs didn't provide any useful info then, but maybe sub may find something in the current ones.
