Recording Export Automatically? Is this possible?
Posted by: nurowolf - 2006-06-07, 08:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hey Guys

I would like to be able to call the Export recordings function that exists within the Config Application on a regular basis. The plan is to use this file to update a Remote Client (Windows CE 4.2 - Panel) with the Library inforamation on a regular basis.

I am happy to have this external to the GBPVR app and run as a Windows Scheduled task. this way I can SYNC the remote DB with GBPVR on a regular basis (export every 30 / 60 minutes) in the background.

Is this possible - is an external app available that does not lock the DB??

I am currently using 96.12 ( cant risk update at moment due to remote project in progress).

Thanks for help

Regards
Mark

1. normalize volume to MVP

When i select TV, music or net radio, i get different volumes that i have to keep adjusting the amp to bring up or down to a normal level, its a pain. would be great if the volume could be adjusted tokeep them all the same.

2. Radio on Skystar 2 plugin

  Small play/watch bug?
Posted by: stefan - 2006-06-07, 06:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Suppose you have a channel A set up on two capture cards. Now,
1) Record a show on that channel
2) While recording, goto EPG, click the show.
3) Select Play. This makes gbpvr play the currently recording file. Good.
4) Instead of 3), press play on your remote. This makes livetv start on that show, which makes both tuners occupied. Is that by design? If it is, then I'm missing a "watch" option when clicking OK on the show in the EPG Wink

  Error when using CTRL-K
Posted by: ed6612 - 2006-06-07, 04:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

After upgrading GBPVR to either 0.97.7 or 0.97.9 whenever I press CTRL-K during playback for on-demand recording (either through live TV or schedule) the playback stops and I get the following error message:

Error: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary:
'{X=0,Y=0,Width=130,Height=38}' Key being added:
'{X=0,Y=0,Width=130,Height=38}'

This happens on any of the channels or even external inputs. I am positive that I do not have any pending recordings or in-progress recordings that might cause a conflict (like some people who had a similar problem on this forum).

Any thoughts?

Thank you,

  How to 'slideshow' Picasa photos?
Posted by: d508dq - 2006-06-07, 03:52 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I'm pondering how to utilise my GBPVR media box to view photos edited with Picasa, without having to manually create a slideshow (or web gallery) for each new set of updated photos.

[If you aren't familiar with Picasa, it saves edits to a file 'picasa.ini' in each relevant directory; no modification is made to the image file itself].

I've discovered that Picasa has a built in webserver - this is available only to the local host http://groups.google.com/group/picasa/br...dba8434326
but that's fine for me as my photos are stored on the mediabox.
I feel sure it must be possible to usilise this, though I haven't figured out how!

In an ideal world, though, I love the idea of a GBPVR plug-in which can read Picasa.ini files and display (slideshow style) a random selection of photos located in my designated Photos directory (while Music Player jukeboxes its way through my CD collection...)

updating database with new file names
Posted by: theredbaron - 2006-06-07, 02:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hey
I've been manually transcoding mpgs to xvid and I was wondering if there was a way to let the recordings database know of the new files (basically just a new extension, .avi). I didn't quite know what to search for, so if there is a thread on this, let me know.

First few channels not tuning in...
Posted by: basketcase - 2006-06-07, 01:56 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

My first 4 channels are not tuning in, I just get static. Those channels work on the other tuner software I have, and they show up when I use the Tuning Assistant.

What do I do. Is there somewhere I can configure the frequesncy of those channels?

Any help would be great.

  DVD problems
Posted by: honkfrog - 2006-06-07, 12:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hello again...

I've had some crazy problems with playing DVD's...
I'm not sure what my settings were at the start, but I had some DVD's showing an image for the menu and then freezing...

now, all that comes up is a black screen (at least it doesn't freeze now - I can back out to the previous menu). The reading light on the DVD drive doesn't even light up?!? (yes, it's trying to read from my physical DVD drive labelled E )
I've attached logs even though they don't seem to show much in the way of trouble.

I'm running gb-pvr 0.97.9 (with the patched GBPVR.exe version 1.0.2328.27027 from thread 16173 about DVD's freezing GB-PVR - although I couldn't watch DVD's before the patch either)

And before people ask: yes, I can watch dvd's in every other program, Yes, I've run through the menus in WMP, and Yes, I have the Navigator set to "DVD Navigator".

And just in case my previous thread doesn't get looked at (about AC3 filters), I was wondering what's considered a "reasonable" donation? I think this is fantastic software and have had better support through the forums than I've had anywhere! And, from what I've seen of other PVR's, this is the best (although, when I get all of the basic problems fixed, I'll be looking to incorporate emulators with joypad support for 1-4 people Big Grin. Open-source this project anyone?)

  AC3 Filter Addition?
Posted by: honkfrog - 2006-06-07, 12:23 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I couldn't find this information while searching, so take it easy on me if it's been covered a million times Big Grin

I feel a tad on the dumb side tonight, but I have no idea how to get any audio using AC3 audio to play in gb-pvr in my videos. Every media player I have on my system runs the videos with full audio, but *none* of the PVR's do???

g-spot recognizes all of the rogue clips as using AC3, and my current audio filter choices are:

  • System Default
  • MPEG Audio Decoder
  • InterVideo Non CSS decoder for... (gets cut off there)
  • Nero Digital Audio Decoder (Nero showtime plays the audio perfectly)

changing any of those options has absolutely no effect..
The log files don't seem to say anything of importance, but I'll include a zip file anyways.

So if anyone can tell me how to get this audio working (and/or dvd's working in another thread I'll start in a minute)

On a side note, I have never seen software of this quality with this much support! Of course, open source would be brilliant . . . but neglecting that, how much is considered a "nice" donation? I want to help out, but am also a student / intern (think Asok from Dilbert).

  Doesn't Record Fusion5 Lite
Posted by: Hawgboy - 2006-06-07, 12:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Just installed the newest version, and it doesn't seem to want to record from the Fusion5 Lite.
I can watch off the card just fine.
It creates multiple 6KB files.
I have attached the recording service logs
Thank you for your help
