If I completely remove GBPVR and reinstall clean, can I save my current recordings list?
I've been messing with GBPVR for a few weeks now, and love it. I've eventually gotten it to perform with my system and work with my Media MVP OK. The problem is I've played TOO MUCH. Between installing a bunch of plugins, tweaking many XMl's, etc.., I have a grey background and cannot get any skin, including the default Blue, to come back.
I can view things OK, but hate running into constant errors when trying to use plugins. I figure a clean wipe of GBPVR and reinstall will be the best starting over point.
I just don't want to lose my 'recordings' list of saved shows.
I was hoping that someone would be able to help me getting my plugin to retrieve a channel listing. I'm attempting to use visual basic .net 2005 which after changing from vb 6 seems virtually impossible.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Phil
EDIT:--
I think i've found the information i need in another post on the forum, but unfortunately when i try to compile i get the following error:
Error 1 Indirect reference is being made to assembly GBPVRPublic version 1.0.2344.16674, which contains 'GBPVR.Backend.Common.ScheduleHelper'. This Project references a prior version of GBPVRPublic version 1.0.2344.14167. To use 'GBPVR.Backend.Common.ScheduleHelper', you must replace the reference to GBPVRPublic with version 1.0.2344.16674 or higher. Can anybody shead any light on the source of this error - i'm using gbpvr 0.97.09.
Just a little info about my project.
For a while now ive been trying to stream live tv to my pc upstairs as we dont have an aerial availible. So my plan is.
Wake the pc running gbpvr remotely using WOL
Retrieve a list of availible channels
select a channel on the client and start live tv on the server / start recording the channel
start streaming the recording back to the client until the user closes it deleting the recording.
Can anyone help me I'm a bit lost with the capture settings for GB PVR.
I have done the following below, but not sure how to configure my Dbox IP Address or what EPG setting I require.
Can anyone help.
Click âAddâ and choose âDboxRecorder Pluginâ as capture source. Choose any name you want for âSource Nameâ.
Click âConfigureâ and confirm the message box
Configuration should be straight forward, the only things that needs to be set up is the IP-address of the connected dbox
( I'm Ok up to this point) the rest below not sure ??
I configured the IP address of my Dbox, then selected test connection. It states "conection succeeded but incompatible Box "
Also not sure how to setup Set up the EPG Source correctly
Ok, I am getting frustrated. I completely rebuilt my system starting last night. I rebuilt again today. Each time I install GBPVR my cature sources produce black screens. I am not sure about the sound, as I do not have speakers hooked up. I am keeping things simple and only have my PVR 250 installed at the moment.
i'm new to the DVB world! i've just recieved my leadtek dtv2000h this week. The video quality is superb but i have some issues with it (with it's own software called Winfast DTV) already...
firstly, it failed to get any channels in the first few attempts of scanning channels (each time it spend a minute or so). is it normal?
then, when i used the computer (either watching tv or doing something else) for a few hours, there will be only one provider left working (all others will be removed/replaced once i switched to those channels). is it because of poor reception at my house?
I want to use GB-PVR but apparently my leadtek tv card is not on the supported hardware list... would it be possible to support this card in the near future?
quick question, does GBPVR via that DVD ripper program, save subtitles and show subtitles (either via a 350 or MVP)?
With a noisey 2 year old around, subtitles are very important .
I've only saved one DVD onto the system, and would like to rip some new DVDs I have so I can watch via MVPs, but I am never sure if subtitles can or cannot be done.
If someone has a quick start for setting up my medial mvp it would really help
I am running ht happauge software on the MVP and the GBPVR on my PC.
Thanks,
Matt
