"video is playing back using tv out"
Posted by: scumbkt19 - 2006-06-03, 07:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I installed gb-pvr last night with high hopes only to discover the title message when trying to view live TV. Unfortunately, I don't have a TV out. Is there any way to view live TV on *my* computer? And if there is, why isn't it prominently displayed in the configuration options?

Viewing live-TV works perfectly fine using WinTV2000 which came with my Hauppauge pvr-350

Attached are all the gb-pvr log files I can find, thank you for the help.

I can't get Music Library 2 to work in 97.9. It will not even show in the config. I have installed it like the wiki says and it is version 3.6 with new database. I can see in the log, that i have an error with Music Library 2, and it is a skin-problem, but can somebody tell me what am i missing ??

As the post in the anouncements seems to have been overseen, I write it down here again.
I can't contorl the volume anymore (keyboard and IR) while watching live-TV. Are there any new shortcuts?

  Widescreen help
Posted by: mrming - 2006-06-03, 05:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi all. I'm trying to get my setup working on widescreen in time for the world cup. I'm a bit confused, however as to whether my PVR350 can actually capture in widescreen.

The thing that's confusing me is this. The PVR350 captures in PAL 720x576. This isn't 4:3 or 16:9 - is it something to do with non-square pixels?

Can I squash a widescreen input into 720x576 and unsquash it for playback with GBPVR?

Thanks in advance for any help - very confused...

  no channels found
Posted by: frohn - 2006-06-03, 05:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello,

gb-pvr worked fine, but now I don't get channels while scanning. The scan finds a signal with strength over 30000, but quality is always 0. The capture stick (Pinnacle DVB-T USB Stick) works fine with the original software. In gb-pvr I have still settings from an old channel scan, which work also fine. But new channel scans always result in "no channels found".

Any hints?

  Teletext on MVP
Posted by: dfdario - 2006-06-03, 04:59 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (6)

I'm sure on previous releases (not 0.96.12 nor 97.7) teletext was working fine on my MVPs. Now seems working the clock only. Pages are not sown anymore.
Any idea?

  Epia users
Posted by: malgernon - 2006-06-03, 04:55 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (11)

Hi,

I've been using Gb-pvr as a DVD, Div-X and Music Centre and its been a good system for these on my mini-itx board (an Epia-M10000 'Nehemia' in a Morex Venus case running W2K SP4).

Now I'd like to complete this set up with an analog-capture TV PCI-card that will work well with gb-pvr to watch live-tv and record it.

Has anyone got a similar Epia-M system with a TV-card working to their satisfaction? If anyone can vouch for a particular card for these Epia boards, then I'd be interested to hear about it. My input would be Scart to s-video from a Telewest cable box.

I appreciate that the Epia-M Nehemia is close to the minimum spec for running a PVR. I've been playing with a £25 PC-World-brand TV card which is adequate for viewing Live TV using its own software but produces a poor-quality recording, so I'm hoping that by purchasing a decent, supported card from a major brand I can get something acceptable.

Any advice?

Regards,

Malgernon
