  ScheduleHelper.LoadRecordingSchedule() and SQLite database locks
Posted by: alibert - 2006-05-23, 05:36 PM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

Hi,

Maybe something for the wishlist, but I'll write it down here.

It seems that "LoadRecordingSchedule()" always reads out the recordings from the database when called by the schedule helper instance.

Would it be possible to provide the list as a readonly property, and the list is always kept up to date (so that it actually synchronizes with the database only when it has to)?

I'm asking this because sqlite locks the whole database during a transaction, and the only workaround is to try it again some time later in a Thread.Sleep-loop. And there is no other possibility to get an updated list except calling the LoadRecordingSchedule()-method, even if it was called directly before.

I'll attach some code because I think that it's not that easy to explain, and the code should make clear what I mean.

Code:
private static void ThreadProc() { // don't disturb databaseWatcher.EnableRaisingEvents = false; // wait a bit until the transaction is hopefully completed Thread.Sleep(200); IList updatedList = null; while (null == updatedList) { try { // load schedule from database updatedList = ScheduleHelper.getInstance().LoadRecordingSchedule(); } catch (Exception ex) { updatedList = null; Logger.Verbose("Thread: " + ex.Message); Thread.Sleep(200); } } // new list recordingSchedule = updatedList; // update states as well lock (states) { states.Clear(); foreach (ScheduledRecording scheduledRecording in recordingSchedule) { if (ScheduledRecording.STATUS_DELETED != scheduledRecording.getRecordingStatus() && ScheduledRecording.STATUS_PLACE_HOLDER != scheduledRecording.getRecordingStatus()) { states[scheduledRecording.getProgramme().getOID()] = scheduledRecording.getRecordingStatus(); } } } // lock MyGuide.NeedRendering = true; databaseWatcher.EnableRaisingEvents = true; }

  Transcode option questions
Posted by: votum76 - 2006-05-23, 04:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I have a hauppauge remote
I have a quick question how do you use the transcode menu button in gbpvr 96.12 when I click on it nothing happens? I want to be able to select which videos to transcode and I'm also trying to add in showburner to burn recordings to dvd. But first I have to figure out how the transcode button works.

BTW. I'm still on 96.12 because of lack of support for My Programs Plugin I need my emulators Smile

  Dual tuner setup, w/out remote
Posted by: rybolt - 2006-05-23, 03:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi all,
Theoritcally I should be able to record one show, and watch t.v. at the same time with dual tuners, right?
(system specs in sig)

O.k., I have the PVR 500 MCE, and need to know how to set it up.

1. Can I do this w/out a remote, and only use wireless keyboard ?
2. Do I need a device (PC IR blasters ) to communicate with my stb Dish Network?
3. Do my input from my STB into my pvr 500 have to be coaxial ? I am guess I split the coaxial out (from stb) into 2 feeds that go into my pvr 500, right?

Thanks in advance!

"GBPVR.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."
Posted by: cafink - 2006-05-23, 03:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hello,

I finally got GB-PVR v 97.7 set up and working properly, and for the most part, I could not be happier with it! However, I am having one strange problem. Whenever I close GB-PVR, I receive the error message shown below. I took this graphic from Sub's post on this thread, but the dialogue box is exactly the same. This seems to be a different problem than the one sub addresses, because it happens only when I exit GB-PVR (it happens no matter how I exit, whether by closing the window or selecting "exit" via the remote), and does not seem to be affected by the "Direct access to Hauppauge remote" setting (I have a Hauppage remote and use this option, but I tried deselecting it to no avail).

This is not a huge problem in that it doesn't seem to have any effects other than displaying the error message; my recordings all seem to be fine. However, it's quite annoying and I would like to rectify it if I can.

Any help on this matter is appreciated.

Thanks!

Weather Plugin - Not refreshing/not animating

Is there a reason it would update very intermittenly, and not running the radar loop?

I have the most recent version (that I know of), and I haven't started using 97 yet, so it's not related to that.

I have a question: Will there be a new version of MyVideos that works with 0.97.7? When will it be available?
I'm using this plugin for a long time, and I really like it.

Size of window/field for program information
Posted by: agerdin - 2006-05-23, 01:29 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi, I have tried to search the forum for an answer but failed.

My xmltv application gives me more information that is showed in the program information window. Instead it is truncated. How/where do you make necessary changes to show all information, i.e., change the size of the window/field. Or is there a way you could scroll this information?

Thanx in advance.

Hey Folks.

I was wondering if you can tell me whether or not this card is compatible with gbpvr, as i'd really like to use it. If so, what steps do i need to take in setting it up, as no matter what i do, i can't seem to get it to work Sad

Scott.
