I am attempting to use gbpvr to run music, video, and internet radio on my home theatre system while still having access to the computer for other uses.
First off here is how my system is setup:
I have a video card with s-video tv out connected to my HT Receiver.
I have my onboard sound with SPDIF digital out connected to my HT Reciever.
I have a SB Audigy connected to computer speakers/headphones.
So far video works perfect. I can scroll to "Video" and watch my videos with picture and sound on my tv while doing anything else even watching a second video with sound on my computer.
The problem is, when I scroll to "Music", no music is output to my home theatre. It is sent to the computer instead.
In order to get the video sound correct I changed the "Software MPEG-2 Playback - Audio Renderer" setting to the correct audio device. I'm assuming that because I'm decoding MP3s it's choosing my default sound device instead of the one I selected here for MP2s. Is there a MP3 Audio Renderer setting I'm not seeing somewhere?
Please help. Once this is working I'll finally be able to practically use this in the living room.
So today I took the plunge and coverted to SQLite as the database engine. Went REALLY easy (good work).
There is one problem however that is forcing me to go back to ACCESS. Its whenever I change channels it takes a long time to switch the channel. Also the popup at the bottom (showing the channel and program title) only shows for less than a second. The show is also stutering during this time.
Any ideas on how to track this down?
Like I said, I'm sure its due to SQLite since converting back without changing anything else has resolved the problem. Also everything just seems to be faster.....
Could it be because I did not migrate the database from ACCESS to SQLite. I did a fresh install today and switched as the first thing before even configuring everything.
* Install fresh.
* Create same TV-Recorded folder (named whatever it was before)
* Copy your MPGs into that folder. (You MUST move the MPGs first.)
* Copy over the gbpvr.mdb and config.xml
If the MPGs are in the same path as they were on the old drive, they will show up in 'Recordings' in gbpvr
If you decide to reorganize your stuff on the new drive, you should use 'mpegimport'

I'm not sure how the metadata things is working for the FAT32 drive though (metadata is stored only on the c: drive perhaps pointing to F: ), will this above advice work for my situation?
I also read in a thread: <http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=11685&highlight=recover+recordings>
some tips, someone wrote a Recoverrecordings.zip batch/script file, but the thread confuses me and I'm not sure what to implement from it. Lots of tweeked batch files...
Also in the thread someone mentions risking losing all their metadata if they unplug their external drive; I'm not sure why that would happen, is that correct?
I'm really not sure what is going on with "metadata", NTFS and FAT32, GBPVR, etc-- could someone share how this works, what not to do to avoid messing with metadata in general, and how best to perform my copy of data to all-internal drives given the mixed format of my current setup.
It seems that even if I manage to lose the detailed metadata I can reimport the recordings and have them show up in the recordings menu fine; but I gather I'd lose the extra info from the TVGuide etc. and that would of course be nice to keep.
Since the 97.7 upgrade, whenever I get "routine" problems (MVP disconnects and other misc. gremlins I've learned to live with) I get two instances of DW20.EXE running. They chew up memory and have to be manually killed.
My guess is 2 because I run 2 MVP servers? Anyway I think DW20.EXE is Dr. Watson, the microsoft tool. Is this a .net 2.0 thing, or gbpvr? Anybody know how I can keep these nasty processes from getting started?
Whenever I watch anything (be it a recording, Live TV or a DVD) in GBPVR, the WAVE output (under volume control) seems to reset lower, at about 40% from maximum. I push it up, and it sounds louder. I exit and then come back in, and it's back at 40% or so. All the other volumes (including the master volume) are at 100%. I've tried various combinations, and the problem is still there. I'm using InterVideo NonCSS Audio Decoder and a bunch of different Audio Renderers (Realtek AC97). Any thoughts?
Just upgraded to 97.07 and worked through the "v0.97.7 Survival Guide" thread. I downloaded the Comskip patch "gbpbv.zip" and it downloaded as 496,249 bytes. Neither XP nor PKZip can extract anything from the file -- it states that it is not a valid zip file. Is it indeed corrupted or am I missing something?
I'm having a problem with getting the sound to play when playing my dvds. I get sound when watching live tv and while listening to music using gbpvr. However when watching a dvd after a bit of a stuttery start I get perfect dvd quality picture but no sound at all.
If i play the dvd through Windows media player i get sound.
I'm using purevideo for audio and video and i've tried every combination of renderers i could find.
Any ideas? I've attached my logs if they can shed any light on the subject.
Just bought the WinTv-PVR 150 and loaded all the updated drivers from Hauppauge. When I'm configuring my recording source, and check the box for "Only show devices detected in this machine" it keeps saying I have the WinTv-Pvr 250. If I uncheck the box and select 150, I keep getting the "Object Reference not set to an instance of an object" If I select the 250, GBpvr locks up. Not sure what is going on. Thanks.
is there a way to get the source code for the PVR350 TV-Out?
maybe the community can try & solve the problems and start supporting it again (or is it a dead end)?
thanks
