  TV not displaying
Posted by: Dotball - 2020-05-16, 02:56 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (47)

Having worked out the tuner issue I now have the next little problem of TV being unwatchable.

Tuner found, channels scanned and EPG populated but when I try to watch live TV I get a blank screen with no audio and a frame or more every x seconds (with audio) but then nothing again. Same when I record TV but I can watch movies fine from a network share.

Have tried different decoders, even installed the Shark007 codecs and using the LAV decoder included with that.

I have searched the forums but can't seem to find anything related.

Logs attached, hoping you can help with this one too.

Thank you
Cheers,

Web channel guide: seeing listings for only one channel?
Posted by: rkulagow - 2020-05-16, 01:07 AM - Forum: Linux - Replies (1)

MythWeb, on MythTV, has the option where you can click a channel name in the guide grid, and it will show you the listings for that channel. What I would typically do is select something like Cartoon Network and scan the late-night / early morning programs for all the weird stuff. You could then advance to the next day, etc, until you ran out of listings. Clicking on an upcoming program would take you into the scheduler.

When I do that with NextPVR (clicking on the channel), nothing happens. Is that just how NextPVR does things?

Unable to record 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire!
Posted by: dodgydart - 2020-05-15, 09:00 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (16)

The last few nights I have been unsuccessful in recording the above program - only the folder and sometimes the xml file have created.  Just wondered if it was something to do with the length of the program name that appears in the EPG - "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? In the final episode of the series, six new contestants attempt to take on the world's most famous quiz opposite host Jeremy Clarkson"?  Certainly Windows has problems when putting it in the recycle bin!

Background colours on the Web app
Posted by: dodgydart - 2020-05-15, 04:48 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

Is there any significance to the colours that the programs have on the Web app? Are they just random shades of grey/black/purple?

  Web Interface
Posted by: NumberFive - 2020-05-14, 11:16 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

Back in 3.4.8 the web server would redirect mobile devices to iNEWA by default.  Although iNEMA is still working great with 4.2.5, by default the Modern interface always comes up first even if I bookmark the URL to iNEWA.  The second time I go to the bookmark it works.

I really like the Modern interface on desktop, but I find it difficult to navigate on a phone screen.  I think it also tries to load a lot of EPG data on the TV Guide, which if difficult on slow/patchy connections (e.g. on mobile data, rather than WiFi).  iNEWA's method of browsing by channel and only getting that day's listings for that channel, although itself a bit limited, proves effective for setting recordings when not at home.

Would it be possible to reinstate the check for mobile browsers and redirect them to iNEWA?  Perhaps as an option that can be configured?

Thanks Smile

When to use "add sd channel lineup" button
Posted by: bluesight - 2020-05-14, 11:12 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (23)

I've been using the "Add SD Channel Lineup" button on the Guide screen on a regular basis, but always get an error: "localhost:8866 says ... undefined" . Looking at the nrecord log, it appears the problem is that the lineup had already been defined when  attempting to execute with the button (example: timecode 2020-05-11 22:02:12.812). I don't know where the "8866 says" message comes from, but it isn't very relevant to the situation. I found a reference to the recommended NextPVR install/use sequencing for Windows, and it puts use of this command right at the beginning when first logging in to Schedules Direct. I didn't do that, and I keep thinking I need to do it every time I reset the devices or channels, but I always get the "...undefined" message.

So, should I be using the "Add SD Channel Lineup" just once at the very beginning, or ??

Tnx
b

(I've blown this up a bit so that it's a little more apparent)

The "down triangle" to open Advanced Tools is superimposed with the "ls" in Tools.

404 error when retrieving lineup information
Posted by: rkulagow - 2020-05-14, 08:53 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (22)

I have hdhomerun-config installed; according to apt, it's the latest version.

Ubuntu v20.04, NextPVR Version: 5.0.4.200428 installed using the .deb package.

When adding my local OTA to the "B31" device below, I get a 404 error.

The 404 error made me think that the issue was with Schedules Direct, but since I run Schedules Direct, I needed to look deeper.

Looking at the logs, I see:

Live TV jumps back when using extended timeshift
Posted by: rohinmehra - 2020-05-14, 07:13 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (22)

Hi all,

I am using Kodi 18.6 with NextPVR Client 3.3.19.

I had set the NextPVR Client Live TV Stream option to Extended Timeshift and I experienced that after some time live TV automatically jumps back about 30 seconds in time. This repeats itself, so you end up watching parts of the program twice. When I set the Live TV Stream option to Realtime no jump back occurs and everything works normally.

I have now set the Live TV Stream option to Timeshift and will be checking if the jumpback also occurs when using this option. I will post the results here.

Please advise. Are there any settings I should change?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards.
