  Movies ThemePack for BaseSkin
Posted by: MixMan - 2006-05-13, 09:57 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

Preview of The Movies ThemePack for BaseSkin.

Kind of funny idea for a Theme. A movie theater with a filmstrip at the bottom
This ThemePack uses regular photos as task images in the filmstrip at the bottom, so you can take you own photos and save them to the AllTaskImages directory.

If anyone is interested I have uploaded it to the Wiki, but it is not 100% finished.

Only some Logos displayed in GBPVR
Posted by: pipkato - 2006-05-13, 09:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I used the Channel Logo tool to download logos and checked them to see that they are present for my channels.

But GBPVR displays only some of the logos in the TV Guide. For example ITV1 and Chanel 4 dont show logos, but ITV2, 3, and 4 are fine. BBC Two is fine but BBC1 doesn't show. RTE1, RTE2, and TV3 don't show but TG4 does.

What am I doing wrong. The logos are in the correct directory.

Thanks.

What happened to the download counts on the wiki?
Posted by: ubu - 2006-05-13, 04:46 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (13)

Looks like they all got set to zero in the last day or so. This is useful data for plugin/utility authors and potential users. I wonder if it's possible to recover the original counts and "add" them back to the new download count numbers.

remote control problem..advice would be appreciated..
Posted by: GravyNYC - 2006-05-13, 03:56 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

So after setting everything up so i can atleast perform BASIC pvr functions.. i decided to tackle configuring my remote control. The remote control that I am using is the one that was supplied by Hauppauge PVR-150. My digital cable box is listed among being compaitble with the remote. Ofcourse.. when i tried to set it up...my remote wont change the channel on my digital cable box. I have an Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100. During configuration, i can see the little light on the IR blaster light up but my digital cable wont recognize it. I even took a digital cable box from another room and still no luck. I downloaded the newest drivers from Hauppague and even tried the beta drivers with no luck. but the funny thing let say the IR blaser is malfunctioning, shouldn't i still be able to use the hauppauge remote control to atleast navigate thru gbpvr? i wont be able to change the chan on my digtal cable box... but if my remote was functioning... shouldnt i atleast navigate thru the menus of gbpvr? any advice would be appreciated...

  A thought I had....Live TV for a GBPVR client
Posted by: psycik - 2006-05-13, 03:16 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (14)

mostly a question for sub for possibilities....

The way that the MVP gets it's live tv signal, would this be possbile with GBPVR?
I assume the way the mvp works is that it tells the Recording Service to start the tuner on channel x, and then picks up the MPG file created about a half second later.

I don't know if there would be enough functions in the API to replicate this functionality for GBPVR so I doubt we'd be able to write it as a plugin. But how much code do you think it would take to make a variation of Live TV work this way for GBPVR?

This would allow people to run as a client server type architecture.

I know you've got a lot on your plate already, but what do we think?? If we think plugins could do it, then I'd have a look at it.

  Codec Problem
Posted by: ckdavis - 2006-05-13, 01:53 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have been using gbpvr for about 6 months now and I think it is an excellent program. I have one major issue however, when watching recorded shows and dvd's, the output is washed out. If I watch live tv or mpeg4(avi files) it is fine, but mpeg2(recorded shows) and dvd video is washed out. The strange thing is, if I set DVDPower to use hardware acceleration, start a DVD or recorded show and pause it, then start GBPVR, the recorded show or DVD is high quality and not washed out. Otherwise, GBPVR is washed out. If I un-select the use hardware acceleration in DVDPower it looks perfect, but if I use hardware acceleration in GBPVR it's washed out. If I use the Cyberlink DVDpower plugin in GBPVR, and select not to use HW acceleration it's still washed out. But as I stated above, if I start a DVD in DVDPower and pause it, then start the same DVD in GBPVR the picture is perfect and not washed out. It's like my MPEG2 codec is defualting to something I did not select. Has anyone had a problem with this?

  Question for Sub...

Hey Sub,
Are you planning on including utilities such as CommonGBPVRUtilities in the next versioned release of GBPVR ? Just curious - it seems more and more plugins are using them...

Thanks,
Jigster

  Make GB-PVR Open-Source
Posted by: DimensionalPunk - 2006-05-13, 12:44 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

Why isn't it already? This project would grow exponentially, plugins can only do so much. I'd like to see GB-PVR take MediaPortals place as the best GNU PVR, which it would already be if the core engine's source code were released. Please Smile

  HorizontalZoom changes; V 0.96.8
Posted by: Kronos - 2006-05-13, 12:23 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

In the config.xml file, I have changed the value for element "HorizontalZoom" from the default of 1.05 (?) to 1.0 to correct the TV display. Prior to this change, the sides of the display were cut off a bit.

Changing "HorizontalZoom" to 1.0 corrected this problem perfectly. However, the value is changing back to 1.05 at times, and I cannot determine what function is doing it.

Is there a reason for this, or has anyone else noticed it?

I am using the "contourHC" skin and aside from the stock functions I have only the weather plug-in active.

Any thoughts?
Thanks.
