I've recently installed Windows XP Home SP2 on the machine listed in my sig. With the exception of gbpvr, I've only really installed a handful of 'small' apps (like vnc and some gbpvr plug ins).
The machine operates fine, but on occassion, I find that the machine has locked up. I can see the time on the menu of gbpvr so I know that it happens at random times throughout the day and night. It seems that it only happens when the system is idle. I have no power save options set; it is set for always on. The box has the latest firmware. This machine is a dedicated pvr and is only meant to run gbpvr.
Can someone give me some tips on what to check, log files to review, and or a possible software auditing program to check the system?
I use Anatolio's Dutch EPG grabber which works like a charm. However there is one problem which other people in the Netherlands must have as well. On some channels (ie Ketnet - Canvas) where there is a combination of of nets on one channel the EPG starts with a large block (up to 12 hours or so) which just says: Met om:. and then the individual programs are listed after that. GBPVR will then list the Met om:. block and you have to maneuver carefully to get to the actual programs. In the webinterface you can not get to the programs, there only the met om:. block is shown.
Anyone knows and easy trick to get rid of this (or has written a utility to do it)?
EPGMovieDate modifies the GBPVR EPG description for a movie, adding the year it was released and its star rating. These will be displayed in the program description when using any of the GBPVR program guides.
The utility reads the extra fields from the zapdb database and prepends them to the program description in the gbpvr database. It should be executed after the Zaptools import utility in the PostUpdateEPG batch file. It has been tested using the GBPVR v0.96.12 and ZapmImport Version 5.4 databases.
The current Zap2it EPG only stores âyear releasedâ and âstar ratingâ for movies (unlike TiVo, for instance, that has the date for all show genres). EPGMovieDate looks for any shows where these fields contain data so, if Zap2it starts to provide this info for all shows, it will show up in the program description field for shows other than movies.
You can find out more and download EPGMovieDate on the Wiki.
I have a WinTV PVR 150 with a Hauppauge 45 button remote. I've clicked the "Fix Hauppauge Remote Settings" and restarted the IR Service. I've done this several times now, I've even rebooted the computer several times. Still the remote does not work to start GBPVR. The remote works fine once I'm using GBPVR but I always have to start GBPVR manually from the computer.
I have the most up to date version of GBPVR and I updated all of the WinTV Software before I installed GBPVR, I can't get anymore up to date. I've covered everything I can think of here, but still I can't get GBPVR to start, while using the remote. Any suggestions?
After automatically resuming from standby, there is only an 0byte Recording.
An error mesage from my IR apeard saying it cannot find the device.
After that I have to disconnect the power of my USB-TV-Card in order to be able to use it again (only a reboot doesn't fix it).
Has anyone an idea?
Sub do you need any logs?
system:
Hauppauge PVR-USB2 (Lite CD Release 2.7.24023 from SHSPvr)
GBPvr 09612
Windows XP pro SP2
i know this was addressed in an earlier thread but that was reguarding PAL formated videos. All of my videos only show up on the upper half of my screen and the bottom half is left black no matter how the video was formatted.
i fooled around with every configuration i could think that it possibly is and no go. the hauppage application shows the videos just fine (well not in the upper half of the screen)
Hi, I just got my pvr up and running w/GB PVR and a Hauppauge PVR-350. My question is this: When watching widescreen movie files through my 350's TV out the pictue is cropped and stretched to 4:3. I've been looking for over an hour in the settings and in the wiki but I'm coming up blank. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, BurnDaddy

It would be great if you could use the arrow keys on the remote to select the video frame. This would be nice for selecting visualizations while playing music or returning to a channel from the menu.
One of the things that I like about using the keyboard is that if you hold down an arrow key, it will keep going in that direction. For instance, if I'm trying out XSearch and using the OSD, I just have to hold down the right arrow key, and it immediately zooms to the right.
When I set up my USB-UIRT (which was pretty easy), it only goes to the next letter, no matter how long I press down the key. So to go across the keyboard, I have to press the key multiple times. I figured that I would try Girder and map it to a keyboard key. Well, that helped me get the sounds working properly in BleepBloop, but I still have the same problem. I tried using the antirepeat wait time, but that didn't seem to have an effect. I even tried reprogramming my JP1 remote to an actual IR keyboard, but that didn't work (and indeed, made it worse), so I reflashed it back to the codes I had already used.
Is there any programmatic way via GBPVR to recognize that a key is being held down on the remote, or is it just a function of a remote to repeatedly send a keypress? I know that it is possible through the normal Tivo, but perhaps I'm doing something wrong.
