When I built my current GB=PVR box, I went with the PVR-150MCE card and a MVP for the TV upstairs. Now I'm thinking about building a smaller PC with direct connection to the TV to get more out of the software that the MVP can't provide.
My question is, since the 150MCE card does not have a remote port like the regular PVR-150 card, is there anyway I can use the MVP remote or do I have to look a third party remote/receiver? If I go third party, any suggestions on one that works well with GB-PVR?
What's the lowest spec AGP graphics cards (any brand) that support VMR9, hardware assisted MPEG decoding, passive (or, at least, quiet) cooling and, preferably, two monitors as well as TV out? My ancient ATI 7000 just isn't cutting it in GBPVR so it's time to upgrade but I don't want the cost or need the 3D performance of the latest cards.
I have a bunch of files now in MPEG2 format and I want to start to archive these off. I am trying to use FFMPEG (comes with the GBPVR).
When I convert using ffmpeg (no matter what the output format is) the sound and picture come out of sync. I beleive the file needs demux first. Heres the command line....
ffmpeg.exe -i %input% -vcodec mpeg4 -vtag xvid -b 1200 -qmax 10 -ab 64 -ar 48000 -acodec mp3 "%output%"
Am I missing a demux flag or something?
I know its not supported by GBPVR.. but i am wondering if anyone can help (or have any dos progs that demux mpeg2 streams)
Hi
I am currently having the problem, that when playing a recorded mpeg (or dvr-ms) file, it is as if the brightness has been turned up. The screen is white and it is only possible to see things that are surpose to be black, these are show as yellow or orange. So far so bad When I press PAUSE the OSD is displayed and all of a sudden the video around the menu is show correctly. I press PLAY and when the OSD disapears, the screen is white again. This happens when the renderer is VMR9. If I set it to Overlay the screen is correct all of the time.
I should mention that this happened after I installed WinDVD 6 and selected the codecs to be used Ãn GBPVR. I installed it, because I was using the Intervideo that came with my PVR350 and they were not able to display subtitles on DVDs. That works like a charme with the WinDVD 6. I have uninstalled WinDVD 6 but the problem persist.
I have managed to seyup GBPVR fine on 1 pc, but trying to set it up on another pc and the live tv playback is really jerky. However, if I record and playback something, its fine.
Any idea what I should be looking at? I would have thought if recordings play fine, live-tv should be the same?
Details:
Its a 2.2 celeron, abit sg-72 motherboard, 512mb memory and a 120gb disc. Tv is coming in through a Freecom 'freeview' usb, and going out the dub/vga. I have tried both Cyberlink and Elecard video decoders, cyberlink ones seems less jerky but still far from acceptable.
I am wondering where the Genre information gets loaded from?
I am currently using an XMLTV feed (created by O2grabber) and in this feed you get quite a lot of information about programs (regarding actors, episodes etc.) and I wonder why GB PVR does not load the Category field of the show as the Genre or add another possibility to have this searchable?
Perhaps its just me not understanding how this field is to be used but I think this would help quite a few people.
I'm adding a pvr150 to my nova-t in my gbpvr machine and downloaded the standalone driver (24054) from the Hauppauge UK site and after a quick look in the release notes noticed that the driver is "not intended for Win 2K".
Is anyone using a pvr150 on win 2k ? If so, what driver version are you using ?
I'm hopping some kind soul will take pity on me. I recently purchased the Lifeview FlyDVB-T and want to use GB-PVR as I like the look of it. I have tried to make sence of the manual but am having problems, especially with setting up the EPG so I was wondering if someone had experience of this card, in the uk, and who could set me on the right track.
I've recently upgrade my Hauppauge RC from a 34 to a 45 buttons. It will be efficient now with all those specific buttons : Radio, TV, Pictures, Music ....
For now I succeed linked those buttons to plugin i'm using by changing the DefaultPluginXYZ values in config.xml.
Deal is now a bit more complex as I would like to be able to map those keys directly to the plugin whatever the screen displayed. Actually it only works on main menu.
I'd also like to be able to manage my volume level using the dedicated volume up and volume down keys, still undepending the screen/plugin in use.
I looked at the KeyMappings directory and suspect this is the place I have to modify xml files but it's not actually obvious what change I have to do. Does someone got any clues or details about this ? Thanks
I tried to install a Twinhan Magic Box Pro but my O.S. (Xp service pack 2) do not recognize the chip "ULI M9207". I have a yellow interrogation mark (with an exclamation mark) in the control panel-system-hardware on the voice "other peripherals".
Always in the control panel I can see under the voice "controller audio, video and games" two peripherals:
DTV-DVB USB hybrid Analog/Capture
DTV-DVB USB hybrid Digital
with the latest drivers took from twinhan web site v. 1.0.3.0
So...I dont' think the magic box works correctly.
Using the analog receiver I can't hear any sound.
In the digital mode it seems to work normally.
What can I do?
I tried to contact twinhan but they don't answer me.
Thanks
