I'm using XMLTVGUI to grab UK Freeview listings from Radio Times. When I view the XML data file generated the programme description tag looks fine, but when rendered in GBPVR it is truncated to 256 characters.
An example from today:-
Code:
<desc lang="en">Five-part series following a group of troublesome British teenage girls who are sent to a leading American wilderness programme for out-of-control adolescents. After seven weeks in the wilderness, the girls finally face the possibility of graduating, but the discovery of a discarded cigarette butt could send the group's hopes up in smoke.</desc>
This gets shown on screen as:-
Code:
Five-part series following a group of troublesome British teenage girls who are sent to a leading American wilderness programme for out-of-control adolescents. After seven weeks in the wilderness, the girls finally face the possibility of graduating, but
I guess these strings are stored in a database, any chance of making the column wider or using a different datatype?
Im not a total newbie, but not an advanced user either!! I have my webserver working (apache) all fine and PHP installed. Was looking to use the GBPVR web interface through Apache, using the SetupApacheCLI instructions kindly provided. However, when I try to access the GBPVR page I get:
Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.
The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
I followed the instructions at the wiki under the SetupApacheCLI in tips and am wondering if I need to change this line at all, specifically the v* and if so, what to??
I've tried configuring GB to run the transcoder during the day but I get a "Send to Microsoft" error in FFMPEG each time the transcode should have been initiated, about an hour (+/-) or so apart.
I've tried running ffmpeg from the command prompt using the parameters someone posted in another thread and it seems to work fine manually. Any suggestions?
GBPVR sometime sloses focus for me, which is annoying because then my remote control stops working. Seems to happen when playing back AVIs most often, but sometimes while watching Live TV/Recordings too.
I'm having a problem that some channels don't record sound. I can view TV fine on those channels but when I record there's no sound. All other channels work fine though.
With the new release and the fix for the 30 second 'hiccup' in Timeshift mode I've been running in TS mode all the time. I've seen a number of situations where the display stops at the time of the program switchover (on the hour or half hour depending on the program).
Efforts to exit the display require several presses of the "back/exit" button and the system eventually displays an on-screen error message to the effect "Error Reading Playback File" (I don't have the message in front of me but I think that's it). Clicking OK returns to the main menu and operation can resume from there without a problem.
As I said this has happened a number of time, usually once a night or so, but not at every program changeover. I've run a thorough CHKDSK on the drive with the buffer on it and there no errors reported. I've looked in the carious logs and in the RecordingService log is an INFO entry for the changeover but no error of any kind.
I have GB-PVR set to download the maximum, 13 days, from Zap2It because occasionally I like to look a couple of weeks ahead and schedule a recording that I might later forget about or I just want to see what games are being televised in my area. I understand this puts extra load on Zap2It for something that I only use every few weeks or so.
I would like to be able to set a number of days to keep in the guide by default, with GB-PVR automatically grabbing the extra days if I try to access them through the guide. That way I would keep maybe 7 days on hand at all times, and if I want to see what's coming up, I can just browse forward and wait a few seconds to get the extra EPG info. Alternatively, a button on the system screen for "Grab 13 days" "Grab 7 days" would work.
when i'm watching livetv i only get sound in my front two speakers, but while in timeshift mode i'm able to hear it cloned through the rear two speakers as well. is there any way to make gbpvr clone the sound to the rear during livetv as well?
How much does the video card get used in normal GB operation? If it's a GB only system, assumign things like TV, pictures, ect?
I ask because I have a eVGA 5500 card w/ a fan, and it's the loudest fan in there. I can disconnect it, but I wanted to see if it's a big issue on a system that only does GB.
