I have a problem with playback and live-tv. I have a picture but no sound. All I get is a brief burst of static and then nothing.
Background: I have a pvr-150MCE installed on an XP-SP2 system. When I first installed gbpvr I had the reverse. Sound but no picture. After reading some threads here, I installed the latest drivers from hauppauge along with wintv. This gave me the picture but now I've lost the sound.
WinTV works perfectly. Pic+sound. Recording is fine. If I record with gbpvr I can watch the recording on wintv no probs.
My config options for audio decoder let me choose (1) system default. (2) MPEG audio (3) Intevideo Audio (4) Nero audio. I've tried all and the result is the same.
Hope someone can help me out with this.

I listened to a net radio stream using my MVP. I pressed the stop button on the net radio screen, then shutdown the MVP. When I get to the server pc, I see a lot of network activity(the router and DSL modem lights are flickering). Upon investigation, I see that GBPVR.exe still has a connection going to the IP of the stream source.

Shouldn't it close the connection when I stop listening to the stream? I had to restart the recording service to get it to stop.

I just installed GBPVR v96.8 (I keep wanting to call it 98.6, and that song keeps running through my mind ) and all is fine, so far.

However, I wanted to change the font sizes for the new System plugin, since the text is overlapping, but I can't figure out which skin.xml to edit.

I looked at the one in \devnz\gbpvr\skin\Collection\SystemStatus , but the stuff in there doesn't seem to correspond to what's displayed by the plugin.

Can someone please point me to the correct file?

I moved some files to a Win 2003 64 (standard), and I forgot how much I was going to miss simpe file sharing. I added the pvr as a user, but I won't auto-connect after they've both been restarted (and the connect option on the XP Home pvr doesn't have a checkbox to remember login).

How can I...
a) have the pvr remember the login to 2003 so it can connect itself, or
b) have 2003 let people connect to the folder w/o logging in?

I have spent a good deal of time looking over the fourms to try to get my new PVR500 to work (correctly), but I cannot seem to get it right.

I set things up as follows:
- Install a fresh copy of WindowsXP 64 with all the patches (AMD system)
- Install the MediaMVP software (disabled the Hauppauge services)
- Install the WinTV PVR500 hardware
- Install the PVR500 drivers (device manager shows 2 tuners)
- Install GBPVR
- Set up the capture source

Now here is where things get a bit weird.

Problem #1:
For the "Capture Card Type", I can select either a PVR500 or PVR500 w/Radio.
For the "Board Number", If I select "Capture device #1" then the Video works (I can watch TV), but the Audio is all static (I believe the radio audio is coming through); if I select "Capture device #2" then the Video and Audio (TV) work just fine.

Problem #2:
I have tried setting two capture souces in various combinations of PVR500 with (and without) FM Radio: Souce one set as "Capture device #1" and source two set as "Capture device #2". I cannot seem to have both tuners working at the same time however. If I start my MediaMVP and watch TV and then try to watch another channel on the computer, I get the "no tuner available" message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have just installed gbpvr but when playing back an avi file the OSD looks grainy and the video quality is not good compared media player classic. I have looked in the filter graphs using graphedit and it seems both gbpvr and MPC uses ffdshow. Also I have tried choosing different mpeg2 decoders (cyberlink, intervideo and default) without luck.
Also I was wondering if I have video files with different aspect ratios should I create an aspect ratio entry to support each?

I have a show that records everynight. AntiVirus updates everynight and the EGP updates everynight. All at different times of course.
In the morning when you want to watch live-tv after a few seconds it will exit back to the main menu.
You have to exit GB, and restart the recording service. After that live-tv works fine until the next day.

Any ideas? Our GB-PVR runs 24/7 and is only used for TV.
We realy like GB since it is highly customizable. But my wife complains about having to restart.

I installed a second PVR_150 in my computer this morning. My computer does not see this card as a new hardware device. I have tried to manually add a new hardware device but can't (or don't know how to) get this to work either.

I have tried searching this forum but can't find an answer.

Any ideas?

Is it possible to edit the channel list found when scanning? I know I can delete channels I add via epg setup etc, but when I do a scan with my Nova-S it finds 100s of channels. A lot of them are encrypted, test or audio feeds. It would be nice to get rid of those to make it easier to define the channels that i can use. Also to sort them alphabetically would be nice too Are they lsited in the mdb files and if so am I likely to 'break' anything manually editing them with Access?

I've searched all the relevant threads but can't find anyone with cpu levels as high as I am experiencing. I've tried various permutations of drivers, decoders, config options, etc. and, while I've learnt a lot about how flexible GBPVR is, I can't seem to nail down the cause of near 100% cpu use while watching live (or timeshift) TV. The symptoms (probably obvious) - very slow OSD and channel switching, jerky playback when viewing mini guide and varying degrees of audio delay. Here's what I get:

GBPVR menu: 1 to 5%
Video playback: 55 to 65%
Recording: 60 to 70%
Live TV: 85 to 99%

These numbers seem wildly higher than those other people have described (even when complaining about high cpu use). The only background processes running are GBPVR recording service, irremote, wireless LAN and XP remote terminal (my PVR is headless). In any case, the cpu load while at the main menu shows it as virtually idle. A P4 2.4ghz with 512gb of RAM should not be this stressed, I surmise.

I am running the nVidia video and audio decoder. When I switch back to the Contour Non-CSS decoders that came with my PVR-150, the numbers drop slightly but not by much. (The nVidia PureVideo decoder is reputed to be a bit cpu hungry, I gather).

I'm using the standard Hauppauge (orange label) driver. I'm hesitant to switch to the latest version due to the recent discussions about the timeline issues et al.

I'm getting pretty desperate.:confused: I seem to have tried everything I can think of. Before I have to accept the inevitable and re-install everything (clean XP install and build GBPVR back up step at a time), does anybody have any suggestions of possible causes or other things to check/try?
