Ok, I just did the update from GB-PVR v0.95.16 to GB-PVR v0.96.8 and all is good but now when I change a channel it changes the channel but the picture is just all static (snow), I can exit to the main menu then back to livetv and then it works.....I would assume that a clean install might fix the problem but just trien to avoid that cause it takes awhile to get everything back in place....

Ok, finally started my migration to a proper HTPC Started with the small step of a TUL 550 Pro into my existing system to replace my Leadtek PVR2000, so I can play with GB-PVR. GB looks great so far (go Kiwi!), with a few quibbles...
First big question - how the heck do I mute this card without muting my whole system? I'd like to be able to do other things with my PC while it records TV, like play music etc, but neither PowerCinema or GB seem to have any way to mute the thing without just muting the whole system. Presumably this is something to do with the audio coming over the PCI bus, but it's a big annoyance. GB-PVR doesn't seem to have mute at all, or am I being thick?!
Also, why the use of "ctrl" modifier on the keyboard shortcuts? One of my big gripes with mediaplayer is Microsoft's insistance on things like ctrl-p to pause instead of simply hitting one key - surprised to find GB is like that too!
Make the default selection from the shutdown menu 'cancel' rather than 'ok'
I have ended up double pressing the remote enter button a few times waiting for a delay I sometimes get as this new system menu spins up the HDD (to read the space). the result is a shutdown that I didn't really want.
When I remove a capture source and press save, the config application hangs. Does anyone know what I can try to repair it or do I have to reload everything ?
I just went through a clean install of 96.8. Completely hassle-free in 15 minutes or so - this is a great piece of software.
One thing keeps puzzling me, though. When logged in as Administrator, switching to timeshift works flawlessly. When logged in as normal user, trying to switch to timeshift gives me a black screen.
Am I overlooking something or does timeshift need GBPVR to be run with administrative rights ?
Well we are fed up with Mediacom Cable and we are getting dish tv!(personally i'd prefer directv.but its the rents call)... So what would be the best option for me to control it with gbpvr..
I have a hauppauge pvr 250. No IR blaster or anything like that.
What would be the best box to use for dish tv? whats the easiest way to control it?

I select an mpg, uk the MVP remote to press OK and then what? Nothing happens, or at least appears to happen. I certainly don't get a pop up menu and I can't find anything obvious in config.xml that would relate to transcodeing other than the default. What should I be looking for?
Hello, I'm a new GBPVR user, in fact, today I built my PVR around the software and a Hauppage USB PVR2. I am not upgrading from a earlier version and my system is running XP with SP2 and all updates as of this date.
My problem is that I have ripped my DVDs to my hard drive as VIDEO_TS folder and am using GBPVR's video library feature to play them back. I can successfully "open" any DVD, navigate the DVD menu and play it. Once.
When I attempt to play a second DVD (or even the same title over again.) The DVD's menu is un-responsive. However, if I quit and reopen GBPVR I am able to play a title again.
I just updated to the newest version of gbpvr and well nothing seems to work quite right!
Any video i exit i get "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
The same goes when i try to enter timeshifting mode!
