So I'm new to all this, but I just went out and bought a PVR150MCE and I was trying to get the IR Blaster to work with my Shaw DCT..
I was able to get audio and video using the S-Video input and RCA's for audio, but I couldn't seem to get the IR Blaster working using the different configuration modes I've tried.
Remember reading about an Interface to allow a plugin to show itself over the top of a playing video. I've searched the forums but can't find anything about it (can't remember what it was called which dosn't help)
How about the possibility to add a help button in the skin, that would open a help.rtf document in each sub skin in a popup Window.
I guess this would make the plugin designers to document the functionality of the plugins better.
Sometimes it takes a while before you have figured out how the plugin works.
I wish to transparently forward the PAL interlaced signal from my TV capture card (ATI 550) to the TV-out (SDTV) without having to deinterlace, because the picture quality is far superior compared to deinterlacing when viewing on a SDTV. I have had partial success because it does actually work, however I can't keep a lock between the pixel rows and the TV-out raster lines. It all starts off fine but after about a minute the pixel rows drift into the next upper or lower raster line, therefore reversing the field order, resulting in double-difference reverse interlacing which looks a complete mess. The drifting oscilates backwards and forwards between the lines very slowly, with a cycle time of between 1-5 mintes.
Has anyone tried this and got it working?
I have made sure there is no scaling or overscanning in the GBPVR config.xml, and i have proven the 720x576 image (incl the captured black areas) is precisely filling the 720x576 screen (using a monitor because you can't see the edges on the SDTV).
I also thought it might be genlock related, however my ATI 9550 video card has inbuilt genlock according to the ATI website, and I also experimented using video "flip" to reverse sync the renderer to the TV-out encoder but make no difference.
I have tried using VMR9, VMR7, and Overlay renderers but no difference.
I have tried using a Nvidia 6600GT video card, but no difference.
I have tried live-preview with no interlacing and also encoder pass-through, and time-shift, which all work but suffer from this drift problem.
I have tried multiple MPEG2 decoders (all set to weave, i.e. no deinterlacing) and no difference (Intervideo, Cyberlink, DScaler5, FFDShow, PureVideo).
The SharperEgde is now the default Theme in the BaseSkin. The resolution of the main menu is 1024x768.
Have a look at the text. The edges are really sharp.

now has support for Appearence Manager Plugin change background function.
Select between 10 different backgrounds.
I call it SharperEdge, because the buttons are not rounded. Perhaps it should be called Minimalistic?
There is a small freeware program (Tool ImageEditor.exe) in the skinroot, that makes it easy to edit background colors.
For the Appearence Manager, the backgrounds are located in .\Appearence\Backgrounds\Colors\
If anyone wants to adopt Plugin skins, you are welcome. (I don't use any plugins, I just use the recording function )
No icons in the menu
Some plugins does are not returning an icon to GBPVR when requested (returning 'null' instead).
These are the plugins that I have found, not "reporting" an icon to GBPVR.

Finally, I must complement Dottore and Torque for their excellent work on BlueMCE2 and Contour. They have put in a huge amount of time and skills into the work on the XMLs
I'm experimenting with manipulating and resizing mpegs. I found this tool called IMAGOMpeg-Muxer that multiplexes files. There are three output options: 1. MPEG 2 Program Stream; 2. VOB (DVD VIdeo Object); 3. VOB (DVD Video Object, segmented).
I tried to look for help on the internet to no avail, so i thought i'd ask some of you pros in this forum as to the difference between the three. (the VOB files produced say that they are mpegs but with a dvd icon). If my intention to eventually burn onto a DVD, should i be muxing it to a VOB? I would assume that i still would have to author the file, right?
Hello. I've just started using GB-PVR. It looks wonderful and seems to be working great. I had a few issues getting started with it, but once it's set up, it works great.
Some suggestions so far (after 2 days of use):
1) Instead of having an application entry in the application bar, make the opened GB-PVR window have a taskbar entry instead (like GBPVRTray, or, even better, just make GBPVRTray the one and only GB-PVR control point, where you can launch the main application, etc)
2) A user option to lock the aspect ratio regardless of the renderer being used (edit: In windowed mode). This should be rather simple to implement (check the user settings, respond to WM_SIZE).
3) Allow the TV guide to be viewed with the TV program in the background. I'm not a fan of having to exit out of Live TV to look at the guide.
4) (This one a little more vague and ambiguous) - have a setup wizard, or a simplified setup menu (with an "advanced" mode for the lesser-touched settings). Setting this application can be quite involved, with the user presented with many options that are vague and unclear.
GB-PVR is purely awesome. Please keep up the great work! I'll be donating soon!
I'm a new user and absoluitely loving GBPVR - so much better than the garbage that came with my Sapphire 550.
Question - originally there was an icon in my taskbar when it was recording or on standby but lately it seems do have disappeared permanently. Can't get it back. Any thoughts as to why this has happened?
Installed GBPVR09608.msi on 2/21/2006. Appears GBPVRTray is constantly accessing the network. The GB-PVR web server port is NOT enabled. EPG is not in middle of an update.
