I am using an ATI 9200 video card and I am using the new Catalyst drivers that have the video mode which give much better brightness/contrast than the old drivers.
The only problem is it disables all screen adjustments. Is there any setting in config.xml that can be changed to shrink the size of the GBPVR screen? I loose a small amount of the time/date at the top of the screen and when looking at other screens suck as guide and Recordings I loose the R and half of the e on the left hand side of the screen.
sub with the resume point cut off in the config.xml file, i set to like 2mins at start and 5 mins at end. but if a when a video is stopped in these "ignore" gaps the old resume point isnt delete from the resume point table. so if there was a resume point at 10 minutes, and i stopped it at 2 mins from the end, the next time i start the video it resumes at 10 mins, instead of resuming from no where.
I suspect I am not alone - but I get really confused about the role and sequence of all the things we talk about.
We have muxs, filters, renderers, decoders, etc. etc. for both audio and video. Then we also have the modes Overlay, VRM7, VRM9 and now a VMR9 customs or something?
For someone who is 'in the know' on such things - I would love to see a flow diagram of how it all fits together from broadcast to output.
I believe placed on the wiki this could be a real benefit many users - particularly new ones.
After much weeping and gnashing of teeth, I was able to get GBPVR to work. I have a coax cable running into my PVR350 that provides basic cable up to channel 77 and a SVideo connection from my Digital Cable box for higher tier channels. I don't use a TV out, I only watch and record on my PC.
On WINTV2000, I had configured a channel to watch the higher tier feed from my cable box. Of course, I have to tune the cable box for the channel I want, but that isn't a big deal in the least. How would I go about setting up a channel to view from the cable box feed with GBPVR? I need to know how to set that up and then how to access it from the interface. Hopefully, it can be done.
I use a FX5200 TV out to my 68cm PAL CRT TV. Resolution is set at 640x480
When I look at windows is is pretty ordinary - flicker, poor definition etc.
When I watch TV or recoded video through GBPVR the clarity is just brilliant. (VRM7 - SD digital capture - deinterlacing set to 'none')
But when I pause I don't see any flicker or tearing or frame jumping even on horiziontal lines. So does this mean that I watching a progressive image or an interlaced one ?
I am SO new to this - as you will likely see from my questions. I have had a PVR350 card for quite a few months now and for the most part am very happy with it.
- I have scheduled several recurring recordings and most work. However, the the same shows which will record successfully one day will fail the next. Are there any suggestions as to why this happens?
- When I access the software after it being idle for hours, it is almost always frozen. I need to restart the software to alleviate the problem.
- Do I need to enable the log files? If so - how do I do that and where do I find them?
OK, I've found System.Net and the various client-side web classes such as HTTPWebRequest/HTTPWebResponse etc. but what I need is a simple Web 'listener' class, i.e., something I can tell to listen on port 80 and then handle HTTP GET requets etc.
I can't find anything native - anyone know of the source for such a class? I could build my own from a TcpListener but why re-invent the wheel if there's one out there?
Does anybody know what the 'Strength' field means when scanning channels?
My Nova-T gives negative numbers, my Cinergy 2400 gives positive numbers and they are all different despite all coming from the same transmitter (Sandy Heath) and often change when I rescan. ('Quality' always says 100).
I finally got the MCE remote from PCalchemy yesterday. I haven't done anything custom to it, Hip or girdir, and am pleased that it works so well with my PVR500 and GB-PVR.
I'm not that particular anyway.
