Anyone know if this card is supported? I know the Nova-s pci is but obviously this is a bit different!

Not sure where to look for the solution to this one.

With Erik's help and a new detection method within comskip, I now have comskip accurately finding commercials, the problem is that when I use the play button within GBPVR to skip past them, it's skipping about 20 to 30 seconds past the end of the commercials and so i'm losing that amount of the programme.

I'm thinking of using comskippad to back up by an appropriate amount but that does feel like a bodge.

Any suggestions, is there a setting somewhere that I've missed that would allow GBPVR to hit the right frame? I'm not doing an autoskip.

yeh hi, i just downloaded GPR the program and wen i click on LIVE TV, it says it cant detect the channels, coz my card isnt working with the program, how do u get it to work with the program?! i like this program alot

Does anyone know if it's possible to get listings from bleb for the E4+1 and More4+1 channels? Or if it's not possible to get the listings directly, is there any way I can use the non-"+1" channels and somehow bodge the timestamps?

I get a lot of problems recording from E4 and More4 with the recordings jumping about or just cutting off before the correct finishing time, and it seems to be due to signal problems. However, I've just discovered here http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/dtt_channels.html that while E4 and More4 are on multiplex 2 which is 64 QAM, E4+1 and More4+1 are on multiplexes C and D respectively, which are both 16 QAM. My understanding of it is that these should have more robust signals, and therefore I should get fewer recording problems. Hence I want to be able to get guide info with the correct times for these channels. Of course, if anyone knows better than me with regard to DVB signals, multiplexes, QAM etc, feel free to correct me.

You can play AVI Files via GBPVR on the computer the software is installed on...but if you try an play it through the Media MVP...just a blank screen. Thoughts?

I have computer with four PVR-500 cards and a batch file that loops five recordings each hour around the clock. For some strange reason one hour about each day is smaller than it should be (it should be about 1.3Gb) and when I watch these smaller files it suddenly just jumps over some minutes and then continues. Whenever this happens it happens to all five recordings at the same time.

Anyone know if this is an issue with the cards or the software (gbrecord.exe)

DirMon2 is now available! DirMon2 is a completely different program than the original DirMon so it doesn't suffer from the same flaws (i.e. it has completely new flaws).

What's new?
- It is now flexible beyond belief.
- Can run as a service (that is the prefered method now).
- Can run multiple jobs at the same time.
- Allows building of command line options with substitutions from the target filename.
- Most fields now accept Perl-style regular expressions.
- The order in which jobs are processed is now configurable.

Here are some important things you should know when you are setting it up:



When you click on the "New Button" you will be asked for a name. This name can be pretty much anything you want. Since it will be used in the Current Status tab so you can identify what is currently running and what is waiting to run.

The circled sections are the minimum sections that must be filled out for a job. What you see is a basic setup for running ShowAnalyzer.



Since the DirMon2 service isn't installed when DirMon2 is installed, you will need to install it manually via the "Install" button circled above. Anytime you want to change any of the service settings, you will need to click the uninstall and then click the install button to actually apply the settings. Of course you can also use the service management built into Windows.

A major change from the old DirMon is how deleting old files is handled. Now you can have different settings for different directories. These are managed in the "Clean up" section on the "Global Settings" tab. When you click on the "Add" button (circled above), you get the following dialog:



Fill it out and hit ok. It's that simple. One important thing is that the clean up descriptions are completely independent. So if you want to delete txt files when there isn't a mpg or an mpeg these have to be together. Otherwise any given txt file will get deleted by one cleanup or the other. Make sense? If not, let me know and I'll try to elaborate.

Now, the important step: SAVE YOUR SETTINGS!!


Now you can click on the "Start" button to start DirMon2 doing what it does.

You may be asking how you control how many jobs run at the same time. On the "Global Settings" tab there is a setting for the total number of resources available. Each job has a setting for the number of resources required. They default to 100 each so that only 1 job will run at a time. However, if you change the number of resources required, then you change how many jobs will run at once. For example, a job requiring 50 resources can have 2 jobs running at once if there are 100 resources available. Make sense? If not, let me know and I'll elaborate.

I noticed an error in the XDvd wiki. Under configuration, it says: "Edit the config.xml in the skin directory to set your iso mount path."

The file that needs to be edited is actually called settings.xml. I would suggest modifying it to: "Edit settings.xml to set the DVD path, iso mount path, and temp file. The settings.xml that needs to be edited can be found in the XDvd directory under the skins directory being used. If you change the skin, you will need to copy the settings.xml into the new skin directory."

Also, now that there is an installer, the second paragraph of the Configuration is not needed. The Requirements should, however, be changed to: "Before installing the plugin, you must install VLC, which can be found at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html. If you want to transcode iso’s then you need to have daemon tools installed as well."

Ok, not sure if this question has been asked. I did a quick search and didn't see anything, so I'm not sure or not. What I want to do is take one of the shows I make and edit out the commericals and create a DVD. Is there a way to do this? I've tried the Windows movie maker, but it only sees the audio from the recorded show, not the video

Ok i have the audio working, so are there any common problems that i might encounter that makes the video not play.
