It's burning something, but I can't read it. However, I can read commercial DVDs. When I use ULEAD or DVD Decrypter, it tells me that it burned succesfully, but I can't read what it burned. When I use NERO, it never burns successfully. I have burned about 200-250 DVDs in the lifetime of this burner (Sony DRU-710A). Are these symptoms of a dead DVD burner? (I ran the Sony checks on it and it claims that it passed all the tests, but...)
When I select a show to record in GBPVR it shows up in the Pending list. When it's near time to record I see a message similar to "Getting ready to record <Show Name>..". However, the show never records. Also, I cannot delete the show from the pending list. I double click on it and select "Cancel", but it never goes away. Anyone else ever run into this?
I have a Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 card running under Windows 2000. I can record just fine using the WinTV2000 application that comes with the card. I have the latest version of GBPVR (downloaded yesterday). Before installing GBPVR I installed .NET 1.1, Windows 2000 SP4, and MDAC 2.8.

This release has seen some major additions:
- Detailed display of video information; [requires My Videos plugin]
- Detailed display of music information;
- Radio display;
- Netradio display;
- Ability to customise screens shown in the various display modes;
- Ability to customise length of time to show screens in the various display modes;
- More configuration settings added.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to test this version thoroughly owing to the large amount of features and changes and my limited time. I did test and it worked fine when everything was hardcoded, but I have done barely any testing to see how well the plug-in works following the changes to allow custom configuration of the various modes. However, I will not have much (if any) time over the next few weeks to spend on development, so I release it here as it is still a major improvement over the previous version, 0.46b, and I think people will benefit.
Again, if you see any bugs, please make a post. Also, give me ideas about features you like/dislike/want/etc.
This version requires CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll and UltraID3Lib.dll (included).

Updated to 0.46 beta. Download attached. In this release:
- Ability to change date/time display format.
- Ability to use non-ASCII (ie non-English) characters. ANSI characters should work provided your LCD is capable of displaying them. An update to LCDSmartie is required. See LCDSmartie_GBPVRPlugin Info.txt.
- Fixed minor bug with line 2 display introduced in version 0.46a.
- Fixed minor bug with display not returning to default after watching TV.
- Added ability to display more information in Live TV mode. LCD should cycle between channel name and channel number, and programme title and description if data is available.
I've updated the attachment below to point to the new version.
Provided no-one reports any major bugs, the aim for the next release will be to get the plugin to provide more detailed information for the screens other than live TV.
After that, I will look at adding the ability to completely customise the display, including how and what information can be displayed. This should be the point where those with LCDs with more than 2 lines can benefit fully.

Plugin has been updated to 0.45 beta. New in this release:
- Minor bug fixes;
- Ability to connect to GBPVR LCD Plugin remotely (ie GBPVR on one machine, LCDSmartie on another) by using custom IP/Port;
- Ability to customise all messages used by the program, even the recording indicator. Only exception to this are the dynamic messages (eg currently playing audio or video file, or current channel number, etc).

My VFD isn't supported by jaLCDs so I've been writing a plug-in for LCDSmartie to use with GB-PVR. It's at a stage now where it is quite usable (at least for me), so I provide it here for others who may also benefit from it.
I do plan to update this a lot more and add more features, but my timeframe is quite open due to a busy schedule coming up. Perhaps the biggest thing going for it at the moment is the recording indicator.
Anyway, here it is at 0.4 beta. Instructions in the zip.
I just cannot get the channel icons displayed in the tv guide.
Yes, the icons with the correct names are in the folder media/ChannelLogos/.
I have installed GBPVR on another computer. It does display the channel icons. Then I copied the folder ChannelLogos to the first computer. But still no result.
Anyone any clue?
The main change is the listings source. The new source is easycinema.com. Benifits include greater reliablity (as britinfo.net had a habit of using non-standard layouts and HTML coding). Also easycinema.com has listings for many more (if not all!) UK cinemas.
Major change to skin (blue is included, working on others).
I use Xrecord as the front end for my GB-PVR. I love it except for the fact that it does not have a TV-Guide enabled recording element. I currently check the TV Guide for what I want, then go into the PriorityRecording.xml file and manually enter all of the required information. Has anyone developed a better way to do this? I don't know much about coding, but my thought would be that someone may have developed a user friendly way of enterting recording information into the PriorityRecording.xml file.
Please let me know if this is available. I have searched through these forums and could not find anything recent that discussed this topic.
Hello all. In advance I want to thank all the programmers who have put so much into this. My friends and family are amazed at what my system can do with your help.
My GB-PVR system recently failed. I have a second computer that just runs as a media server. Basically, after two years of running, the harddrive failed. It was a Maxtor drive. I have to buy a new drive and start all over again.
I did not purchase another Maxtor drive, but I did get a standard drive (not something that is made specifically for Servers or anything). The price differential was just too much.
What I would like to do is have my unit on during certain hours and off during others, without me having to do anything. I realized that I was doing very little recording during the day, so it would be better if my unit were off so that the harddrive was getting a rest. I think it was the 24 hour rotation that ultimately fried it.
Does anyone know how to do this? If I am posting in th wrong area, I apologize. I am sure someone else has run into this tye of problem since we are basically running 24 hour servers with laymans materials.
Hello! I'm currently happy user of PVR-150 + GBPVR + Pundit-R. Now I'm planning to purchase HVR-1300, but can't decide which one is better. Retail or MCE version. As I already own PVR-150, I don't need to have another Hauppauge remote. But also this MCE-Kit IR receiver looks extremely big and ugly. So, which one do you recommend? Does both cards work with GBPVR? Does MCE version work with non-MCE XP (the regular one)? Has anyone any difficulties fitting it into ASUS Pundit?
As I briefly explained in a post in the "Enhanced Web Admin" thread, I'm developping a Wap Access allowing users to schedule a recording from their Wap enabled mobile phones.
It today starts to work the way I want it to. I will be able to provide you a BETA version in the next few weeks.
But I before have some advice to collect from you, GBPVR users.
For now, it allows to schedule a recording by giving the channel and the start and end times.
For people who are Wap users, they should know that screen sizes don't allow so much extras... The problem concerns the channel selection way. Here are the options with pros and cons...
1st option: the dropdown list. Principe:
A list displays all the available channels. A pain in the ... if channel list contains 30+ channels. Pros:
Allows to have the available channels list.
Don't have to know all the channels numbers. Cons:
Unsuitable if 30+ channels configured in GBPVR because of the small sized screens and phone slowness...
Possible high amount of data exchanged.
2nd option : the text field Principe:
The user type the channel number in the text field. Pros:
No long list to download and display.
Fast channel choice. Cons:
Must know/remember the channel number (becomes hard if 50+ channels).
3rd option : the search channel field Principe:
The user type the channel name in a text field. If none or more than one channel match the search, a list with searchs results allows to select the good channel. Pros:
No long list to download and display. Cons:
Needs two or more page changes to validate the schedule.
