Thinking of switching to ver 5. From what I see on the videos you have to enter a user name and password ever time to start the DVR. Can this be set to automatically run with out a UN/PW?
Thank you,
Bruce
After a long with a successful configuration using Hauppauge 2650 in win 7, I am transitioning to win 10.
Recordings files are zero bytes. Checking NRecord.log I find the command setting the "tuner target" is using my Ethernet IP and not the IP for the 2650 adapter
Executing: C:\Program Files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun\hdhomerun_config.exe 2011EE3D key 99027 set /tuner0/target rtp://192.168.127.101:36312
WinTv 8 plays channels and its log shows the same IP as the logs on my old computer (Hauppauge 2650 adapter IP)
Does anyone know how to change the "target" IP address? Or even where it is set/stored?
OK, I asked this question some time ago on how to import my IP security camera into NextPVR. Well I found the RTSC stream that my camera uses and I am able to view it in VLC player. NextPvr just does not seem to like it.
can someone shed some light on this for me? Do I nede to re-encode it? If so How would I go about this? Someone lead me in the right direction.
Thank you,
Bruce
I'm still running V4, all clients are NMT. Very happy still but I need an extra client as I have bought a projector so looking at other options. It seems that RPi/Kodi might be good to try (never used either before) so I've ordered a RPi4 and I'll give that a go.
What I can't find is info on what people use as a remote control. In an ideal world it'll use an old NMT/MVP remote as we are all used to them but is that possible? What have others used? I see Flirc alot - is that a good idea?
Any pointers would be much appreciated.
Cheers
I am trying to record the TV show, S.W.A.T and am not able to setup Record Series, but record once works. I am wondering if the periods after each letter is causing the problem as I do not have this issues with other series recordings.
Here are the steps.
- From the NexPVR web interface, I click on Search and enter S.W.A.T. and click Search
- I click on the link to set the recording options and when I click Record Series or Advanced, it does not save my choice to setup the recordings.
Could someone help me out with a fresh install for someone who, lets assume, knows nothing.
I can't find anywhere basic instructions (and I do mean basic) for installing whatever combination of products/software are required so I can watch TV with a PVR on my TV. I have gone through all the Wiki's but they all make assumptions.
I have Nvidia Shield TV (the new one that looks like a tube) which is essentially Android TV. I have an HDHomeRun box. I have a TV. I have a PC. I have an antenna. I have Kodi installed on my Shield TV. I can watch live TV on my TV (with the HDHomeRun app on Shield).
That's all good.
What I want to do now is introduce the NextPVR component which is where it all goes pear shaped.
Do I need to install NextPVR on my PC? Is the addon (sounds obvious typing this) now installed on Kodi?
Thank you to anyone for any help you can give me.
If I can get it going I'm going to do a nice easy to understand setup guide.
I did look around for answers, didn't easily find them.
I've upgraded from 4 to 5, and noted a few things I can't find.
1) On 4 I could change the TV Guide minutes displayed, and did so to display 4 hours. 5 displays 3 hours. Is there a way to fit more?
2) In 4 I could use buttons on my Windows Media Center remote, and could . On 5, it seems like many don't work. Is there a simple utility/program I can use that will enable many of the button pushes (fast forward, reverse).
3) There was no place to add the decoders. Is that because it's web-based now?
4) Copying the NPVR.DB3 file worked great, once I discovered it's in two different subdirectories. Why is that?
