Just want to thank you sub for ver5. its awesome. I do seemed to have an issue and I think its with the naming of a channel. Could you look at the log and check for me.
After moving to version 5 from version 4, With help from Martin and Sub I was finally able to configure my 4 TV Tuner card correctly in Settings by enabling all my Tuners and correctly mapping all the channels in each of the 4 tuners.
But now, once in a while, when I start up KODI I receive an error that the "NPVR ADDON failed to load" and then I immediately go to NPVR Desktop app and it gives me a warning "Unable to connect to Remote Server"
I immediately go to Windows Services and stop and restart the NPVR Service. Once again both NPVR and KODI are working normally again except for the usual lag or Buffering while watching Live TV or TV Recording. I can live with that. Possibly it will be fixed when both NPVR and KODI are updated next time.
I had time to day and looked again at v5 - Version: 5.0.2.200322 - and came across some huge problems with the DVBC tuning. I have two tuner cards from Digital Devices, one with four tuners and one with two - and currently only the add-on tuners for the 4x card are working. The other tuners throw BDA graph errors when trying to scan.
Note the whole setup works fine under v4

I am having a play with nextpvr v5 and have scanned in my channels ok. I was wondering if there is a quick way of selecting the channels for my area and applying the freesat channel numbers and groups etc? Just started renumbering the channels and its going to take a while doing it 1 by 1...
Appreciate any help here to reduce cycles in the initial setup?
I have 1244 entries in the db remembering playback positions dating back to 2010
1. Is there ever a limit? i.e. is there a risk of db bloat?
2. Some of these are for shows I definitely don't have any more (the Kids grew up...). When shows are deleted, shouldn't these entries also get purged?
First up: I seem to have inherited a host of devices I don't actually have? Are these normal? How do I delete them?
[EDIT]Went into db browser using SQLite and manually deleted them and some extras elsewhere in the db. I think I may have inherited them from Martin when he did my db repair (some things in there about Ottawa...)
Second: I seem to have lost nearly all my Metadata and thumbs? (I have since manually gone through and redid the Metadata via the recordings menu)
Third: There is no Metadata menu in Recordings only in Videos. Could I please ask for the one in recordings back?
v4 used to have a Stop NextPVR and Start or Restart NextPVR Server command with Icons that featured prominently on my system when I was playing around with things which need this to happen. Does v5 have a similar command? I can assign icons if I need to. I searched the forum post titles but could not see anything on this.
This machine never had v4. v5 was working fine until after the first time I used time shifting (which worked fine), on 5.0.1.200209 (I think) but the same issue still occurs now on 5.0.1.200322. Ever since, I get this error popup (details in zip file). Sometimes the video would still come up, but freeze after a short time, other times I have to force exit the app. The web app still works fine though (before and after). Figured I'd ask here first before I just wipe everything out and start from scratch...
Hi,
New to NextPVR. I have a HDHomerun 4 tuner version, Channels over DVB-C, and I do not get any EPG data.
HDHomerun player do have it, as it can show what is currently running. Unless it is using the cloud.
Side question, how do I lower the logging level in the terminal Window from ffmpeg ? I get lots of ffmpeg stuff on some channels, EXTINF3, frame decode error etc. I don't see anything that looks like ffmpeg path in the config where I could add flags.
Another question, changing channels takes a long time - and I can see bytes buffering up. I really do not need any buffering, as it is realtime.. VLC does it much faster. In the config.xml I see <HDPVRBufferLonger>false</HDPVRBufferLonger> - So it is set to soemwhat shorter buffering.
This is result of a scanning:
