I couldn't find a better topic to post this so here it is:

I was just wondering if the program supports a windowed mode as I have no need for the "media center" setup that appears in the screen shots (I often watch tv in a window and do other tasks on the pc).

I currently use WinTV, the default software that came with my Hauppauge PVR-250. I think the gbs interface a lot, and also how you can see what's on directly in the program and change channels (WinTV uses the TitanTV website).

I now have no sound in live tive or any recording. However mp3 plays ok.
I can get sound with playing the files in WMP etc. Just GBPVR wont play sound, only music

I was playing with rear speaker set up and got it all working. Went to live tV and nada. Now I'm lost, tried evey combo of playback decodes etc. Arrrgh, why does one have ti fiddle?

I have a PIII 667mhz machine running xp. I just got GBPVR working with Win TV PVR 150 and a Media MVP. Given this isn't the fastest machine on the block, actually the playback and live recording is quite good. (menus and pausing is a little slow is all but I haven't even tried any of tipster's tweaks yet)

But I have neither an audio or video card in the computer. Would it be worth a few dollars to add either or both? Do either ever come into play with the MVP-BBPVR-PVR150 combo?

I only want to use this machine as a server, so I don't really care about viewing video on the monitor.

Recently ive had a problem with recordings, unfortunately i cant think of what changed to give this error, but when i try to select 'recordings' i either get a blank background, or i get an 'out of memory' error on the main page.

Nothing else is affected, and i can access video library to get my shows.
I tried restoring an 'Acronis True Image' image of my last stable setup, but still get exactly the same problem?

I have upgraded my memory to 1GB a month or so before the errors, but would have expected other windows errors if i had bad memory?

Ive enclosed my GBPVR.exe.log, and all suggestions welcome as always!

I don't think it's me as I can connect fine to various other websites but the wiki site is taking forever to put up a page.

I'm having trouble with channel changes on Live TV causing the GBPVRRecordingService to crash.

If I just put in the channel number and give the system time to accept this and process it then things seem to go fairly smoothly (with just a bit of a hiccup when changing channel).

However if I do 'chan number' + 'OK' or use the 'ch +/-' buttons then the whole thing seems to crash - the MVP gets stuck in a stutter and when I come through to the PC the GB-PVR Recording Service has crashed.

Logs attached - I was wondering if this line had anything to do with the problem...

I'm running a mediaMVP and I'm tyrin to transcode divx to it on the fly using ffmpeg as I've been told it can do...

I installed the K-Lite FULL codec pack which has ffmpeg bundled with it.

I'm now running gb-pvr off a XP3200+ with 1gig of ram but I still only get about 10-15 seconds of playback before it cuts out.

Is it possible to transcode divx on the fly or what? I've got the maximum ammount of time set to wait before begining play back and it just doesn't work . I'd love to get some solid answers on this cheers.

I'm having some difficulties with GBPVR in respect of some weird processor usage!

I've felt my system was running slowly when first switched on in the mornings. I realised that GBPVR was trying to download the DVB EPG - given the previously mentioned problems with this on Freeview in the UK I thought this what was causing the trouble. I therefore change the EPG setting to none. However I've found that I'm still having some definite problems

I therefore did CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up task manager and found that every couple of seconds GBPVR.exe is loaded and run as a task - processor usage jumps from 2, 58, 81, 98, 100, 63 then the process gets unloaded. Memory usage runs at 2Mb, 38MB, 67MB and then it gets unloaded. The process then repeats. GBPVRRecordingService.exe runs continuously at 28MB, 0% CPU.

Both these services appear under the separate user name I have allocated for them (GB-PVR) - I had to do this so that the MediaMVP could access shared network files.

When I stop the services then both these processes disappear from task manager and CPU usage falls to 1%.

I then moved them back to running as local system (with desktop interaction allowed) - processor usage fluctuated initally but then settled at 0% for the GBPVR.exe task. It occasionally spiked to about 15%. Memory usage is about 58MB.

I changed the user back to GB-PVR and the same issue recurred (of processor usage spiking to 100% and GBPVR.exe keeping on being reloaded).

Any suggestions? I like running as Local Service because (a) the CPU usage seems more sensible and (b) the GBPVR and MVPTrayIcon display themselves OK on the taskbar. However I really need to be able to access networked files through my MediaMVP and as far as I'm aware this means I can't run as a local service and have to run it as it's own user - however if this means the CPU usage with keep fluctuating to 100% it's a bit of a problem!

Advice much appreciated!

I can't get this to work, nor have I seen any postings about this...

I have two retail PVR-150s (not mce's) in my computer - each with a remote/ir blaster attached. The input to both cards are S-video from DirecTV recievers (model DirecTV D-10).

Both cards capture video correctly, but only the blaster for the first card works (both remote control and blaster for the satellite box). Anytime GB-PVR wants to change the channel, the blaster for the first card is activated, and the channel is changed on the first satellite box (even if the channel should have been changed on the second satellite box). :mad:

Is there a way to get two Hauppauge IR blasters to work in the same system, or do I need a different type of blaster for the second card?

Can anyone recommend a blaster that works with GB-PVR (with IR, not serial)?
