I have taken the plunge and I am installing gbpvr for the first time. Firstly, I wanted to say that from what I have seen so far, it looks and works great. Secondly, the wiki is also looking great. I hope in time (and when I have some more experience) that I'll be able to help fill it up a bit.
ok, onto the subject line. I have the above remote, and I think I may have found a bug. When watching a video file, the pause and transport controls dont work until you have paused the video using the mouse. At least it doesnt seem like it does. Maybe I am doing something wrong. I have looked through the forums but not found anything.
Where can I look at (and possibly change) the key mappings on the remote? The 415 remote has a few buttons at the top..namely TV / Videos / Music / Pictures... etc that I'd like to assign to jump to each section. The guide button has been assigned - and I LOVE the fact it works whilst watching videos as well
Alright, I have this HD cable box with a firewire interface that i would really like to be able touse wiht GBPVR. On this website http://www.thegreenbutton.com/community/...eID=104152
it gives a plugin for MCE and says that this can be done with my model STB in both BTV and SageTV, but my question is, is this possible for me to do in GBPVR, and if so, what do i need to do?
GBPVR is running great and display is smooth as silk... but changing channels in Timeshift mode takes a looong time, usually between 7 and 15 seconds! My setup is:
Athlon XP 2500+, 512MB PC3200 ram, PVR-150, nVidia FX5200 with the PureVideo decoders.
From looking at the gbpvr-native logs, it seems to take about 6 seconds between "About to switch files" and "After file switch", but I'm not sure where to go from there. (logs attached)
Also, should I get a sound card? Will it make sound better through the MVP? If so, any thoughts on what I should look for in a card?
And finally, my box has a 200W power supply. Should I update it too and if so, how many watts do I need? Would a good quality 300W power supply be enough, given I might add a second 200 gig drive in the future?
I missing the beginning and ending of some shows and I think it is due to the way comskip and gbpvr interact. I have the skip automatically enabled and I have noticed that sometimes a show seems to start in a little late. I thought it was the padding time, but increasing it didn't resolve it. Mostly, though, it affects the end of a show. The timeline shows green for a long stretch (without the usual commercial at the end) and the show ends early. When I open the recording in vlc, I can skip over the last commercials and see the ending.
It seems that GBPVR must chop off the end of a recording if all it sees is a commercial on the end of it. This keeps me from being able to override it and use the arrow keys to move along the timeline to see the ending.
If I am right, how should it be handled? I guess you could make the special case of keeping the ending even though it appears to be all commercial, and don't skip over it. Just let it play right into it (but I can hear the cries about autoskip being broken...;-). Even if it worked like this, I could use FF I guess and still scoot right out the end of it before I know it. Maybe we need a feature that would stop it from ending automatically at the end of the show in this case? Oiy.. I am not quite sure how to handle this.
Sometimes (this doesn't happen all the time) when the screen saver kicks in, I can't get out of it by moving the mouse, or pressing most of the buttons. The only way to get out of it is to call a plugin (like LIVE TV or GUIDE). A bug?
As the title says I installed Xrecord and now after a recording is done and post processing kicks, it converts to xVid just fine but doesn't delete the source file when done. Help?
I've got my mvp talking to the server and playing music, but when I try to use shuffle the button does nothing unless I have opened a file full of mp3s -- say for example mymusic->bruce-->borninusa. Then it will shuffle all the tracks in there.
But I cannot get it to shuffle or play all from top level directory mymusic.
This occurs both with a directory on the server and with a directory on a shared xp workgroup. The former is mp3 only tracks, while the latter are wma tracks (which I assume are unsupported by the MCP since they cause it to crash).
Any thoughts? Will trying a different music playing plugin help?
