Erm... hum,

what is priorityrecording.exe? Do I need it?

It crashes from time to time, but I do not notice any disadvantage. All my recordings are ok...

(I feel stupid to ask that question, but I really dunno what it is...)

I am using a ATI All In Wonder X600 PCIExpress card. I am wondering if I can use GB-PVR with it or do I have to buy one of the Hauppage cards?

Did we have some downtime or is my internet dns playing up again?

I know gb-pvr has a conversion tool in its config but im not sure id get desired effects.
Im looked to take small chuncks of clips and convert them to psp.
What program can convert clips of mpeg2? to psp format?
(looking for something free pref* since its only my brothers psp and id like to show him clips)

I am thinking of turning my existing PC into a HTPC. Its spec is
Athlon 64 3200+
MSI RS480 mobo
1Gb RAM
X600 pro
no TV card at present

As a test to see what Divx playback was like on my TV i connected the pc up using the svideo connection. The picture quality was really bad, much worse than my modded xbox playing the same divx's. It also would not display in 16:9 widescreen, in fact WinXP wouldn't even let me set my resolution to anything other than the standard 4:3 resolutions (640x480, 800x600 etc)

My TV is a panasonic tx32pl10 (a 32inch widescreen CRT) and has a great picture when playing DVD's etc from 'normal' consumer electronics devices.

Is TV out always this bad from a PC to a non HDTV? Its a bit of a show stopper as i cant watch TV with a picture that bad.

I have the Plextor TV402U and was wondering about what it boasts. They say 'Store up to 3x as much with DivX without losing quality!' So far, I'm thinking this is a little far fetched. I have my sample set down to 2000000bps and the quality is alright, but nothing to awe at. Setting it to 3500000 is tons better, but at that rate I'm approaching 1GB per half hour, which isn't that much better than MPEG2 (which is 2.2GB per hour I think?). Does anyone know any secrets or anything on harnessing this thing's power? I spent $170 on something that I except to deliver outstanding quality at a much lower cost of space. I can't see many ways to tweak it in GBPVR. If I don't see a way to really bolster this up I'm probably going to return it and get a hauppage 150 instead and just do hardware mpeg2 encoding.

I have a Hauppauge 150MCE with Mediacenter remote, Irblaster and fm tuner. Is it me or is the Irblaster not always working as when I try to use it with my sky box sometimes it doesn't transmit all the numbers if changing channels for instance! Or is the Irblaster just a bit rubbish! Any ideas?

Starting GBPVR takes about 30 secs sometimes, it used to take less than 10 secs.

Last night i´d a little problem.
I was watching a recording via the MVP as my server went to hibernate mode. Okay - i told the machine to go to hibernate after 1 minute inaktivity.
Normaly my machine is in power off mode and should only be activated for a recording and shut down after recording- thats why i selected the setting of hibernating after 1 minute.
Do i need to select this settings or is there any other way to control startup and shutdown for gbpvr- mostly i fall to sleep while watching tv and i dont want the machine running the whole night
