First off, I have been using GBPVR for a year now, and it is by far my favorite PVR program. Thank you Sub, for giving us such an excellent PVR solution.

Now, on to my question,
I noticed for a while now, using both ATI TV Wonder PCI and PVR500, that the PVR500 has 1 image attribute which I cannot figure out how to get rid of. It's hard to describe, so here's what I'm talking about:

Look at the text, mostly where it says "weather.com"
Notice how it is clear and defined on the ATI capture, but on the PVR500 capture, it is blurry horizontally.

Normally, this wouldn't bother me because something like this would not show up on a TV. There's always a hitch though, which is the fact that I watch TV on my computer monitor, and using a DLP projector on a 108" screen. It's VERY noticable when blown up to that size.

I only use the ATI card when both Hauppauge tuners are in use recording stuff and I want to watch a 3rd program.

My thinking is that it has to do with the native format the PVR500 uses, a resolution of 720x480. The ATI uses 640x480. I'm wondering if there is a way to make the PVR500 use 640x480. I suspect that would fix everything if I could figure it out.

Does anyone have any experience with some good, relatively inexpensive network TCP/IP security cameras (<$400 ea)?

I need some that will work in low light and if they support power over ethernet, that would be even better. I don;t think I'll need the ability for them to zoom or pan, but panning might be nice.

Also, any good software that could handle streams and/or 1 pic/second from about 6 cameras? Currently using a homegrown Linux solution that is very slow now with 6 existing cameras. Would prefer Windows software.

pluginHelper.IsPlaylistPaused() returns true even though it was stopped. i use the pluginHelper.IsPlaylistPaused() check in "My Music" and if its returns true i just call
pluginHelper.ResumePlaylistPlayback();
but if it returns "false" i then process the "play" button and start playing back the selected music or whatever. so can you make it so if "stop" is pushed (or pluginHelper.StopAudio() is called) that pluginHelper.IsPlaylistPaused() return false.

My new pc keeps time very poorly. It gains 3-5 minutes a day. I hacked the reg to get it to try to update every 6 hours but I still have issues. It appears that even though it tries to update every 6 hours, it is only successful every 2 or 3 tries. (the clock servers must be packed). This ends up screwing up my recordings, especially with back to back recordings since I can't pad them. My other PC on the network keeps great time. Does anyone know how to sync the time on my poor timekeeping machine with the good clock one? I think it can be done but just can't find good directions. Please use small words in your reply since I am obviously dense in this area:eek:

It think a nice feature for a future release of GBPVR would the implementation of reminders. Such as when you are watching live TV, and you had previously set a reminder for lets say LOST. then at 1 minute before lost comes on, a remider comes on in the OSD saying "LOST on in 1 minute", or anything such as this, or maybe even a button that says "tune to this channel immediately".
I know it might as well be set o quick record or something, but this just seems different to me, in case you decide to disregard the reminder.

just a really simple question for you guys. I already have a nvidia card that has video capture abilities, so i would like to use that. the issue that im having is that in the GB-PVR Configuration, it doesn't give me any options for my card. so i dont know if im missing something small or my card just may not be supported. I recently installed de gbpvr app on my system. Everything when great until i reached the end of the installation where (i assume) the config is launched for a first time configuration.

The thing is, it crashes. and everytime i try to restart it, i get the same results. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling the application but it didnt make any difference.

I have the most recent version of the .net framework so i assume its not that.

I did make a search and read about the Performance Counter thing. but i didnt apply it because the article said it applies to win2k3 and win2k. Since i have XP i didn't dare doing it prior to asking here.

Has anyone had this problem occur on their PC ?

It would be neat if you would be able to define something to search for each time the guide updates. For example, I am waiting to record Jaws, but I don't know when it will air. It would be great if I could search for Jaws automatically each time the guide updates to find it, then get some sort of an announcement from the software that Jaws will be playing on such and such date.

Would be neat if possible, and from what I have seen you guys do, you can do anything.

Hey there... I'm trying to get the Ctrl-Y shortcut to work to flip between channels, is this the correct shortcut? If so, any ideas why this doesn't work? Nothing seems to happen at all.
