I have just started useing gbpvr and i am getting sound dropouts ocassionaly
any idea's on what to do

Hi.

I download some new skins, unziped them in the skin directory and ran config to select the new skin.

When the GBPVER software restarts, I see the new skin *ONLY* on the main menu. All sub-menus show the original skin.

What am I doing wrong?

similar to burn to DVD.
Tried DVR-MS toolbox - worked a couple of times, but now stops before midway.
GBPVR now set to record in MPEG, so problem not long-term...but have recordings in DVR-MS format that I want to put on to DVD.

Any ideas/workarounds?

I know I've seen this request before but for the life of me I couldn't find the thread. So, here's my request. My particular environment would greatly benefit from such a feature since the DViCO decoder works best in Overlay Mode with the Fusion 5 lite and the WinTV USB PVR2 works best with either the nVidia decoder or the default hauppauge decoder in VMR9 mode. I know it's a tall order but hey, we can wish right?

I have a Hauppage Nova-T USB2 and i use the remote that came with it.

When viewing a dvd i want to be able to jump fwd/back chapters. I assumed it was the key like fwd but with the bar after it, like >>|

but this just advances the video by a couple of minutes as if i was watching a recording.

Is there a way to jump around the chapters or even go from say chapter 2 to chapter 10??

Is there a command line switch or any way to call the Recording Status window so it is always visible? My taskbar is usually minimised so it would be handy to always be able to see whether the machine is recording or not.

If there is a command line switch I can then place a shortcut int the Startup folder.

I have a PVR-350 and graphic card with TV-out. I'd like to use the PVR-350 output to watch TV and programs recorded with the PVR-350, but not for other videos.

Is it possible ?

Or: is it possible to watch divx with the PVR-350 output ?

Having just built my first PVR with GBPVR, feeling very proud of myself, I thought that I would try installing the "XRecord" record plugin, this appeared to go well.

But then I tried to use Config to change the current skin as there is the option to use the Redsky skin, but it bombed out, saying that it could find the preview.jpg file. Sure enough it does appear to be missing.

Am I missing something? or have I not read the installation instruction well enough!! What instructions? - The one that says 'click here to download the applications'.

I know that writing documentation is boring, but just a few nudges in the right direction would be helpful to us budding new users.

Hi, I have searched the forum but can't find any reference to Windows 2003 apart from in relation to the MVP.

Will GBPVR run on this OS? Or would it be better to have WinXp. The reason I have server software is that whilst not recording tv, the machine would be an access point into my home network and I need to use Remote Desktop to get to it.

My hardware is a Dual Core 2.8mhz P4 with 512meg RAM, GEForce4MX440 Tv-Out.

I haven't yet bought a TV-'in' card, but am looking at the PVR-250.

Also, I assume that I need to plug a 'freeview' box into the PVR-250 and that the PVR-250 is cabable of changing the channel on the box - is this correct, or am I a complete newb?

...or would a Nova-T be a better option?

I'm going to start putting this machine together tonight, so all help, pointers would be appreciated :-)

Managed to getmy MVP working on my server 2003and dont it look goood....I was wondering how I would run the app as a service. So the admin or user doesnt have to log on.
