Is there a way (simple I hope) to adjust the contrast level on the Media Extender?
I am trying this box with SageTV server ( SageTV trial version) and the output of the MVP shows about 35% darker than normal - which is not acceptable to me.
I have 2 Hauppauge Nova T DVB cards soon to get a 3rd but I am concerned about the fragmentation of the video files it really thrash the drive and stutters a little on playback when recording 2 programs and watching a video file from the same drive.
Can I tweak the settings so that each card uses a separate disk drive? Or has anyone come up with any tweaks/settings to help? (I use windows 2k) Would having NCQ enabled help?
At the moment I have 2 250gb Samsung p120s both on just sata150 so no NCQ enabled. I currently have Norton speed disk scheduled to defrag the drive during downtime but it doesn't help much with the above scenario. Occasionally I might be recording 3 programs simultaneously will I hit bottleneck with the single drive?
I posted on another site with now avail. One person said he thought it was the closed captioning info that was "peaking through" and that I might be able to use ffdshow to crop it. Any ideas? I'm new to ffdshow - it's very confusing! .
hey guys i am new to all of this i have a haupgauge PVR 150 or something like that, i am new to PVR's on computer. in ne case i want to get my PS2 to go on this thing. when i set it up it says it works but all i have is a black screen and what not, i have used the tunine wizard and everything and it detects that channel 4 has input and thats correct for my PS2 and i have no idea why it doesn't work from there any help would be great.
I was out surfing today and saw an article on how to play DDR on your PC. I thought it looked pretty cool. I'm not sure what the feeling is on posting links to other sites, so sub, if it's not cool, you can kill the thread.
I've tried an older version of the msi to no avail. I get this error immediately after launching the .msi install file.
"This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."
I've ensured that I have the latest .Net 1.1 framework. I've tried downloading it in both IE and Firefox. I've used an msi viewer on the file and it was able to extract the install information - so I'm not convinced it is a corrupt file.
Hi, for months now I've been using GBPVR to record shows and watch live television, and the picture has always been the same as any other tv in my house. All of a sudden about 3 weeks ago I noticed that half the channels were extremely fuzzy, in black and white, and impossible to watch. However, many of the other channels work fine, same as before. I figured that it must be a problem with my cable company or a bad splitter / cable, etc... but I have connected another TV to the line going to my computer and the picture is perfect on all channels. So I thought that maybe the card had gone bad, but when I run the Hauppage win2000 program that came with it, once again, the picture is perfect on all channels.
I've tried clearing and updating the EPG and I updated to the newest version of GBPVR, but still the problem persists.
I talked to my cable company and they said that the television would need to be set to 'HRC' cable or else the picture might be slightly out of tune on certain channels. I have seen a setting like that on many real tvs but not in this program anywhere. Maybe I'm overlooking something, but I've looked through the forums and wiki and found nothing.
I cant figure out why this problem suddenly appeared.... I did not change anything at all with my pvr settings, or in gbpvr.
My card is the Hauppage PVR150, I live in the US and have comcast cable.
I was wondering if this is possible, I've got my TV and a lcd monitor plugged into my PC and is working fine with GBPVR. What I would like to do is be able to control the GBPVR menu on my LCD monitor while watching the video on my TV.
Basically I would like to use the MyVideo plugin to queue the video's on a playlist and they would play on the TV in the queue order. This is great for playing Music videos or Karaoke videos as the videos would play continously without having to stop to pick the next one. Thanks

and generated an Mpeg-2 video stream with the audio muxed in, suitable for playback on an MVP.
Has anyone ever seen an artifically generated mpeg? Not animated, just the psychedelic results of a numeric process...
I saw something like this, when I was watching live TV, and the recording service started. Picture froze, audio repeated the same *BLURP* over and over, and the guys face slowly melted, as the MVP valiently applied the same transform over and over and over....
